What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I'm going a little fancier for Friday with a bit of real M.O.P.

Thats stunning:thumbsup: Whose the maker? It's reminiscent of the Art Deco 1930's Sunburst.

Another great pic my friend, what was the wind like up there?

I carry a small pocket anemometer on my walks. It wasn't to bad; about 22mph gusts and minimum -6.9c windchill. Not like Mam Tor back in November. 68.6mph and -12.9c windchill.

Good idea  Ouch! I hope it was blowing North!

Edit - Just ordered an anemometer AND a Capucin! :D

No it was a westerly  And forgive my ignorance, but whats a Capucin? The closest the internet gets is a species of monkey, an Order of Friars within the Catholic church or a part of Quebec. None of which I think you can order off the web :D

 Still, I suppose it could have been worse! When they first laid the paving slabs in the early 90's, I can remember having to don crampons on one icy day! :D Sorry, I was referring to my exchange with @HFinn earlier :D

Thank you, my friend. I often forget that Wrights makes knives other than those of the Lambsfoot variety, I'll have to look into them. Regardless, a fine looking pair today.

Thanks, Dylan. :) You have a threesome to cherish, too! Trading in a smooth bone single bladed 78 for a 2-bladed jigged bone 56 is a trade I'd make in a heartbeat!:thumbsup::cool:

Thank you, GT. A fine assortment of canoes you have today, I like the looks of that Buck especially.

Churchill and his Hound today.

How's your daughter liking the snow, Barrett? When our kid was little, I was the designated "snow parent" and "swimming parent", even though neither winter activities nor swimming were favorite leisure pastimes for me. But our daughter had her own tiny shovel and loved to "help" me clear driveway and sidewalks, and now she still sometimes helps me with snow removal.:cool:

Thanks for the Joker comments, especially concerning my "mustard monogram". ;) Now that I know that the techniques works, I need to get an applicator with a finer point and try some "art projects" on carbon steel blades.

She seems amused by the snow. Admittedly, though, she hasn't played outside too much since we've been here because the temps have been pretty cold. It’s supposed to “warm up” a bit next week, with a few days forecasted in the upper-20s/lower-30s, so hopefully we can take her out and play in the snow a bit more then.

I bet you could do some cool stuff with some sort of needle applicator and a bit of mustard.

I've been carrying/using these three a lot around the house the last few days. (The rest of my knives are one of the last things I have left to unpack, so I've been limited to the few that I kept accessible -- these three, a #15 Crown Lifter and a #15 Farm Boy.)

Thanks Dylan, yeah, me too! :D Nice Friday carry there

I chose two very different knives to carry today for two different purposes. The 1978 Case 6347HP large stockman is for EDC knife duty during the day. It is ready, willing, and able. The Laguiole Extra (which I just found in another unopened box of my late stepfather's stuff and for which, per the price tag in the Laguiole box, he paid $29.00 in the 1980's) is for when I join my buddies late this afternoon for cocktails. It will be my cocktail discussion icebreaker (thankfully, the bar staff have grown accustomed to my various knives being passed up and down the bar, including my larger fixed blades).

The bone on the Case is some of the darkest that I've seen. The pin hole drilling seems to have been hurried or the pin setting a bit firm on this one pin (from closer looks at the pin head, it may be the latter).
