What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks harry! It is Stag Bone and top shelf ff. Nice daughter-in-law, eh?
Yes , very nice daughter-in-law . I am an admirer of the design and craftsmanship of a well made split back whittler and I also have one made by Case . It was nice to see yours .

Harry

I am already 10 pages behind lol... good grief. Saw some of you displaying your beautiful 77s (looking at you Harry!) and it inspired me to grab my one and only. Every time I do I ask myself how it ever left my pocket to begin with.

Thanks GT! The joker is a 4 finger knife for me, but I have average hands. I'll take a pic with it next to a ruler. Love the ALOX!
...
Thanks Jack! I think it may just be the angle of that photo, but GT has me curious so I am going to measure it lol :). Great pics, I would love to read your write up on these knives.

Carrying the Joker again today.

Sorry for the late reply 5K, I was on a pub crawl yesterday celebrating a mates birthday.
Yeah, I can't imagine Justin Timberlake being tolerable at any time really :D. I hope your daughter liked the game as much as the half-time entertainment
So that Joker is bigger. I can't speak for the Joker Jack has but this is mine:

A great selection of SAK's and none SAK's you have  especially that Boker. My Farmer sees very little action but is my carry knife on my walks. More because it's stainless than for any other reason. Here in the UK we've little need for fixed blades or other large knives, as we've hardly got the vast tractless wilderness to get lost in :(

Pootling about the house today.

Mine is the same size as yours Donn :) I think they do it in three sizes, and if I'm not mistaken, we have the smallest size, and GT has the medium
...
Thanks for the follow-up info about your Jokers, gentlemen!:cool::) My Joker is definitely bigger than I typically carry, but I don't realize how big it is when I'm carrying it like I have this week.
I appreciate the positive comments on my SAKs (and other knives). Tom, your photos have probably been major contributors to my "Alox Pox". donn, that German sodbuster is cool. Are those snowdrops in the photo, and are they currently blooming???

I am going with the Hound Dog and the Lamb today.

That looks fabulous, @HFinn !! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

There is such beauty in that knife, Gev!:thumbsup:

So little color in these snowy days; I felt the need for red today.

Super study in scarlet, Dean!! ;):thumbsup:

Congrats on winning that very fine half-whittler, HnS!!:cool::thumbsup:

A Case Rogers Jigged Walnut Bone Copperlock.
...
Perfectly centered blade, pinchable, smooth action, locks up rock solid, and they are very reasonably priced.

As you can see, the color is similar to my 1974 Canoe.
Lookin' grand, Leslie!!:thumbsup::thumbsup: When that Rogers bone series with the quad-threaded bolsters first came out, they caused quite a stir on The Porch. Very handsome knives, although I've not yet purchased an example.:thumbsup::cool:

It is a Two TEWS Thursday today . Sorry about using some old pics...

...
Harry
Such a sensational pair, Harry!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: I'm going to say it was Two TEWs Tuesday plus Two Days! ;)

It was an office day today so the Canoe seemed appropriate.

I can see the headline:
Contemporary Case Canoe Captivates Classic Cutlery Connoisseurs ;):thumbsup::cool:

This one landed today, I'm quite pleased, I wanted something a little larger than a peanut but not by much and I love the contours of the handle. Both blades arrived with a sharp toothy edge, Case model 6208, this one has a tang stamp date of 2017 so relatively new. And I sharpened her up tonight both blades took an exceptional edge, again, quite pleased :)

Yes, I can remember being designated 'dentist parent'! o_O

Thanks for the compliment my friend, three fine-looking Canoes :)
Dentist parent doesn't seem like a title that would endear you to your offspring!:D Thanks for the canoe kindness, Jack, and kudos for your daily double!:thumbsup::cool:

 I haven't read much Augustine lately.

Today's Friday, so I'm getting jiggy wit it.
I like that knife that you often post, but my GEC ID skills are not very sharp, Joshua. Is that some kind of #47 maybe?:confused:

Nice! :cool::thumbsup:

I'm going a little fancier for Friday with a bit of real M.O.P.

Holy Mother of Pearl!! That knife is definitely an attention-grabber.:cool::cool: My parents gave me a fake-pearl jackknife when I was a kid, and I only carried it to church, but I regret that I have no idea what happened to it when I went off to college. Maybe a knife like yours would be a good candidate to be a substitute for my lost childhood knife!

Congrats on the superb stag lambsfoot senator, HST!!:thumbsup::cool::cool: I won a GAW once that brought a very similar model to me, but I like your stag better than I like mine. ;)

Absolutely my friend! :) Love that fleet of Canoes! :D:thumbsup:

I’m going with some color this morning! ;)

I thought you were carrying ALL of them, and I was impressed!!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

You should pick up Augustine's Confessions. It is what he's most known for, and a very interesting read--the first book of its kind and one very few have duplicated well.

Your GEC identification is better than you let on. That is a 47 Viper you see, and I was lucky enough to snag it on the Exchange. If I wasn't trying to limit my knife purchasing, I'd get another one. But for now I like to enjoy what others get to show off.

I want to thank my good friend Mr. Paul Hilborn for this absolutely gorgeous GEC..78 SpearPoint, I like to carry the bigger Knives- and this is yet another of GEC'S amazing range- the quality of this Knife is staggering - The single Blade will make this a very slim carry- any such knife like this I fall for very quickly- as I have for this.
It's in my pocket now my friend- Thank you so much Paul for yet ANOTHER knife-:eek: - He just will-not-stop !!!

Paul- this will most definitely be in my EDC Rotation- I love the edge that you put on the Blade before you packed it away - Thank you!

Duncan, so glad you like it. The 78's are just an amazing pocket knife. I'm happy it will be in your rotation:thumbsup::)

May as well keep yammering on about it. After all I am just so happy to have the dark red Boker large Stockman after all I went through to get a nice one. Looks wise this is IT for me. Was so surprised to find how pocket friendly a Large Stockman is. I thought it would be kind of annoying loose in the pocket and would need a belt pouch.

I was carrying the Case Teardrop for the previous week. I have never had a Teardrop before. I found the single blade version to be awfully thin in the handle but I do enjoy thinking this was maybe a style Lincoln might have carried. Is that right ? Good useful blade.
anyway . . .

Crampons are hard core :D:thumbsup: I saw someone up there last winter with snowshoes on. It wasn't THAT deep....

Otter-Messer. It's the small carbon bladed size, as they produce two different sizes.

Wow. Nothing like the two CRKT's I own then; which certainly wouldn't cut muster on the Trad' forum.

And that there looks one useful work knife

Nothing fancy for me today and a picture from a few weeks ago as I forgot to put the batteries back in my camera

LOL! Yeah, I don't think the snow was that deep, but crampons were the only way I could stay upright on those icy flag-stones! :D

Today, I'm totin' something new and special:

A pleasure GT, they're a nice lightweight carry :) Indeed, I think she still holds it against me! I definitely drew the short straw - in fact I don't recall any actual drawing going on! o_O The dentist refused to see her unless there was a parent to hold her down! Great gig! She's a doctor now that one. I like your Free Choices, don't think I've seen that RR before
