What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Man, you're right, Drew - the pace of this thread (and of life) seems to just keep accelerating! I had far more posts quoted than actually showed up here; I can't comment on everything I want to because it makes my post illegally large. :(
That 77 Barlow is looking like a healthy treat! ;)

Thanks for the reading recommendation, Joshua. That book is on my list of classics to read. Thanks also for the 47 ID confirmation. ;) I'm with you regarding how much vicarious enjoyment is available here!!:thumbsup::)

You're living in the fast lane my friend! ;) Thanks for the kind words, appreciated, as always

I went with your choice Gevonovich. The Ettrick. And for today as well, but that'll change because it's Pancake Day here in the UK and I don't think Ettricks make good pancake slicers

Is it not Pancake Day in the US too? Great-looking Ettrick sir

Fine piece of cutlery riding along today

An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,

Once again, my plan for the day's carry was almost thwarted, but not due to glaring sun on pictures. I had planned another Remington replica reveal, this one being the R-4 Utility Knife with a spear master, coping secondary, a saw blade, can opener, and a cap lifter, all topped with a bail.

But I didn't have the heart to take it out of its original wrapping and wipe off the light packing grease, so I put it back after a pic.

Following the utilitarian theme, I chose these two for the day: Opinel No. 8 (from mid-1970's) and Queen 31 large (yet slim) congress (from 1961-1971). Maybe the Bard of Ayrshire would approve.

D Duckdog okay Stuart, since you won’t take yours out of the packaging, here is a photo of my R-4 up top. A great knife that I have been carrying in my truck for over 25 years. The box and wrapping are long gone. I really like this knife. It is very useful, but too much for pocket carry.

I am truly enjoying your posts as you delve into your treasure trove of knives. Thanks for sharing them with us!

Outstanding!!!

Wow. Two R-4's in one day. Let's see more of those saw scouts!!!

A "new to me" Railsplitter in Honey Corn Cob covers. Sports solid D2 blades that are laser sharp now after some time and patience:thumbsup:

Very cool dimpled covers on that knife, Paul. (Nice deep color to them, too!)

Hope you have a bit of warmer (or at least less cold) weather headed your way. It's supposed to be above freezing here tomorrow, so I'm planning on washing my truck. It'll be nice to have it just one color again. :D

Looks tasty, Jack! (Hope you didn't have too hard a time cleaning the syrup off your Guardians Lambsfoot! :D)

I figured since we'd moved to a new state, maybe it was time for a new knife. I was going to buy something new (maybe a Farm & Field & Fish #65, which seemed fitting for Minnesota), but I already own several knives that I haven't carried yet, so I decided instead to pull one of those off the bench and start using it. I went with this Natural Canvas Micarta #71 Bull Nose from 2015. (I'm honestly not sure why I haven't carried this knife yet; I love these #71's, and I think the Canvas Micarta fits this knife particularly well.) Looking forward to making this one a user.
