The Guardians appear to be attempting a coup d'etat!!
Splendid, Mark!!
I certainly get a kick from your old Barlow kick, Wayne!!Still on an old barlow kick - Belknap Hdw Blue Grass today...

I'm a sucker for knives with an anchor "shield", and have had my eye on a set of three Cannon knives for a while. How do you like the one you posted, @MBeckett ??View attachment 864419 Thought I'd give this cheap Cannon a fair shake.
Tremendous trio, Stuart!I don't want to leave my barlow brothers (and sisters) hanging today, so I'll be rotating in carrying one of these tres amigos throughout the day. They were produced by Queen in 1972 to celebrate both the sesquicentennial of Queen City Cutlery's incorporation in 1922 (the year Schatt & Morgan fired 5 supervisors who formed QCC) with a "1922 Q 1972" tang stamp and the Drake oil well in Titusville, PA. The Drake well was drilled by Edwin Drake in 1859 on the banks of Oil Creek (!!) south of Titusville and was the first commercially successful oil well in the US.

Harry, whatever the day, your two Tews are great news!!Very busy day around here today and have to use some old photos of what I am carrying today . It is a Two TEWs Friday today .......I really like these 2 old guys . I have come to the conclusion that the Sheepsfoot or a Lambfoot blade is MY most usable blade . I will use which ever one I pull out first .
Harry
Thanks, Gary.
Great photo of your Cadet, GT.Now where did I put mine...
...
Thanks for your generous compliment, Dean.
Egads, Gev!!!intimations

Glad to see your Beaver is keeping busy,
Sorry to hear you lost your old boy, Jeff.Tough day. Lost my old Boston Terrier today.
Pretty sure it was congestive heart failure. I spent the day with him sitting on the kitchen floor by his doggie bed.

Perhaps someone needs to start an Ugly Knife contest thread...
Didn't we have such a thread a while back? I can't remember TBH!![]()
...
I don't think either of these threads was a contest, per se, but I think they're fascinating reading just because folks have such different perceptions of the same knives (and there are certainly lots of pics missing, as Rachel pointed out):There probably was a thread like that but if so, all those wonderfully ugly pics are lost to the "Great Photobucket Purge of '17"
...
Just re handling a boning knife for my dentist.
...
Thanks, can I vote for both? That Sowbelly of yours has some nice curves. Does it have a Turkish style clip main ?
...
The Diamond Jack was with me today.

No, it's definitely not just you, Stuart! What the h. ll? I'd think twice about a dentist who employs boning knives, but maybe that just me.

These two are my Cutlery Companions for the weekend.Hope y’all have a great weekend!

Had my old Ulster readio electrician jack and the Kershaw in my pocket, but never pulled them out once except for this snapshot.

That'll do! Btw Ed, I saw you mentioned you carried your Case Bose LC in a slip sparingly. May I ask what slip? I just ordered a large wide from CK for mine.My consolation reprieve for not winning was a notification “win”
From Chris Reeve that my Small Inkosi Insingo with natural Micarta I ordered a few months ago was finished![]()
Splendid, Mark!!I could easily become a sowbelly addict, I think.

Tremendous trio, Stuart!I really like the shape of those Queen Barlows, especially the rounded bolster, and I'll always prefer a 2-blade model over a single blade.
Harry, whatever the day, your two Tews are great news!!
Thanks for your generous compliment, Dean. That spearpoint #14 TC Barlow is a sweetheart!
Egads, Gev!!!
(I don't think I've ever actually said that before, but your photo seems to call for a unique response!)
Thanks, Jack.

I remember going through the first thread listed and counting how many "ugliest" votes various patterns received, and deciding that I needed to start a thread in defense of the French Kate. I still have the "talking points" I intended to address, but have never actually started the thread!
No, it's definitely not just you, Stuart!I've always been rather dentalphobic, and when I read FBC's post, I cringed and thought, "Who'd go there???
"
FBC, thanks for the curvy comment. The Marbles sowbelly has an unusual blade combo: virtually identical blades at each end that I'd call drop points, and a spey with a curved spine:

Good-looking Diamond Jack; it reminds me a little of a Case slimline trapper, which I've discovered I like a lot!
As is always the case, Ron and Harry, you're each carrying a praiseworthy pair!

Gotta be HUGE consolation, Jason!
I'm trying to make it my personal tradition to end each week by posting a pic of the quartet of knives I ALWAYS carry, so here they are again, sittin' on a mitten:
