Nice to see an 881Y getting some love.

My research shows that tang stamp to be from 1850 or earlier, Rachel!
Definitely qualifies as a golden-ager! Glad you like it!!
Wow! I like to carry knives that are older than I am. This one is three times my age!
Thank you so much!

I'm a sucker for knives with an anchor "shield", and have had my eye on a set of three Cannon knives for a while. How do you like the one you posted, MBeckett MBeckett ??:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Well, the steel is obviously cheap. The one pictured snaps into open position and shut, but is sloppy in the middle. There are some rough edges here and there. BUT... I think the set of three was all of $15 or so. It came in a set with a spear point and sheepsfoot. The wood used on the handles looks pretty nice and for the price, I wasn't disappointed. At the very least they're not bad to look at.

What the h. ll? I'd think twice about a dentist who employs boning knives, but maybe that just me.

No, it's definitely not just you, Stuart! :D I've always been rather dentalphobic, and when I read FBC's post, I cringed and thought, "Who'd go there???"
FBC, thanks for the curvy comment. The Marbles sowbelly has an unusual blade combo: virtually identical blades at each end that I'd call drop points, and a spey with a curved spine:

Good-looking Diamond Jack; it reminds me a little of a Case slimline trapper, which I've discovered I like a lot!

Life is rough with no health insurance! haha.
Seriously, He is a hunter and a knife lover so we get to talk knives when he isn't working on me.
Gary, thanks for the additional pic of the Sowbelly.
I like the blade shapes on that one.
Thanks pal, beautiful Diamond Jack :)
Thanks Jack, I am really liking this Diamond Jack, it's verrry slicey.

Mike, I always enjoy seeing that one.

I ended up using the HJ's punch as a scribe today, it worked pretty well.

Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund I’m very sorry to hear about the loss of your Boston Terrier pup.
I know your pain, as last Sunday was the one year anniversary of us losing our beloved Phoenix, a tuxedo cat that was a phenomenal companion. We got him out of a tree as a kitten ( a cliche, I know) and then for the next 16 years he was the best friend anyone could ask for.
Like you, I sat by his bed as the day wore on. We knew it was time and he passed while curled up in my lap, when his little heart gave out. I still get choked up when I think about him.
These little guys are family and they love us unconditionally.
Hang in there, my friend!

Today’s knife, to keep things on track.
