What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It's been a long and unusually cold winter this year, unlike the past 3. So global warming is not yet convincing me;)

Thick snow these past days, North wind giving a chill factor from Mars:eek: Sunny it may be but last night down to -22c again..

So in defiance I choose a Green Knife as spring is underway in kinder climes, this with a fantastic present from Jolipapa

.......... -22ºC

With the recent 'Beast from the East' weather, we had winds whipping around the house that brought us -10ºC at worst. What really showed up, was the insulation in our loft conversion couldn't hold the heat........so what is/was the warmest room for most the day in our house.......wasn't - it was freakin' cold :( Our statutory (current) levels of insulation are pretty poor in comparison to other countries, let alone our recent past recommended levels.......big gas bill coming!

Two knives of character, Will

Just been opening the post...

Carrying the GEC 15 stainless Boy’s Knife this week. Looking forward to the upcoming new 15s!

I better pay closer attention. I'm carrying my stainless 15 in Tortoise Shell today because GEC's acrylics don't get enough love. I'm a day late and a dollar short. Glad to see a fellow tortoise lover.

Good-looking knife! :)
I usually shy away from acrylic handles and I don’t know why, as they are very nice looking and plenty tough. The torties are my favorite. Hard to photograph though, as they are so reflective.

Acrylics seem to have a bad rep for some reason but they wear well. You're right about being hard to photograph even in overcast even lighting the reflections are there.

...Wet and miserable here today, thought these two might cheer things up a bit :)

That way if the heating goes out ya could just keep on motoring on. Ya'd stay nice and toasty.
You're a natural-born salesman, Dave! :D:thumbsup: The real appeal of that one is that the fur on the front is a dead ringer for our two little poodles! :D:cool::p

My favorite John Lloyd.

It's one of several beauties you have, Alan!:thumbsup::thumbsup: What makes this your favorite??

I think I'm goin' with the 2009 Stag Queen/Schatt Morgan/BFC Wharncliffe Barlow, always one of my favorite knives, BFC or otherwise.

Legendary Barlow, Ted! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

...
Totin this new one today. It’s a 2nd, but so far so good. It’s an Oakedge Knives made for them by A. Wright’s. It’s a Lambsfoot with a carbon blade. Made, I believe, on Wright’s Barlow pattern. The slip is also from Oakedge.

Congrats, Ron; that set-up looks splendid! Big bolster on that one!:cool::thumbsup:

... I am carrying the one without the paper tab on the main (apologies for recycled photo). I am also carrying my Sabre pruner (or hawkbill), as my wife has asked for some cut branches from the forsythia flowering in our backyard to brighten up our living room.

Been rather busy lately with the house hunt and such but our persistence has paid off! I've mostly skimmed this thread for the last few days so if I missed a comment or two, please accept my apologies.

Carrying a bit of horn today.

Jeff, you'll have to take this with a grain of salt since I seem to be crazy about almost every sowbelly stockman I see, but that one is sensational!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Terrific Tortoise, Ratbert Ratbert !:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I had glennbad put ebony scales and rat tail bolsters on a GEC 47. The shield is like what is on some on knives of this pattern that were found on the steamship Arabia wreck. ...

That's a pretty cute peanut in the locket Gary:thumbsup:

Thank you, GT. I had you in mind with those spear mains. With the aluminum frames, even the two blade knives are relatively light in hand and pocket. (SIDE NOTE: The slightly older version with the paper tab does not have the patent numbers on the mark side tang as does the younger one, rather it has a PENDING stamp on the pile side.)

That muskrat is my kind of knife with two long sleek mains. The beautiful bolsters are a bonus, to boot.
- Stuart

Some say that variety is the spice of life Gary! That's a sweetheart you have there, certainly worth of a little attention now and again. :)
Thanks, Jason. I do have the little Dozier with me! I guess that makes me half committed! :)
