What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I’m down here now! Grew up around golf - back yard was the 9th hole - and I haven’t missed a year since I was in diapers. PM me, when you’re down, if you’d like, Arnold Palmers will be flowing.

In the meantime: Indigenous Azela of GA. The flowers are much more robust.

Notice the pollen on the leaves. It’s around 4K or so today. I can taste it in the air.

Wow man. Beautiful picture. I plan to get back down there for the Masters someday. We can drink some Arnie's for sure. My brother and I have started a tradition of going to one major championship/year. We've hit:

1. 2014 U.S. Open at Pinehurst #2.
2. 2015 Masters.
3. 2016 PGA Championship - Baltusrol, NJ.
4. 2017 PGA Championship - Quail Hollow in Charlotte, NC.
5. 2018 - We are going to TPC Sawgrass for the Players next month(not technically a major)

We hope to keep it up. All that would be left is the British Open. Would love to see St. Andrews when it's back there.

Sweet. Don’t bring that beauty to Augusta National?! I live across the river in SC and was there Wednesday and turned down a Sunday ticket ... my couch affords better views.

Yeah. That's true. You don't see as much when you are actually there as you do at home in front of a nice HD screen.

Today I had my beloved Blue Alox Vic Farmer back in my pocket made possible because of the outstanding Generosity of 5K Qs.
Thanks again Gary.

Old picture of it.

I had, sold and regretted it from day one a Fremont smooth oiled bone going on two years now. I REALLY liked that knife and had tried to get one back without success. Then a forum member here had one on the trade exchange. I thought MAYBE a deal could be had. Well this forum member was extremely generous in either option consisting of a trade or purchase. We found very comfortable ground with a great trade for both of us. Thanks Lance:cool:;):)

Hope everyone has a good Friday. The weekend is almost upon us! ;)
Thanks, Jack. There is just something so cool about those stovepipe kicks.

Gorgeous knife, FBC!:thumbsup::cool: Is that your stockman, or a clip/sheep jack, kind of like a 93OT?
It must be the angle, Gary. That's just ye ol Winchester Stockman.
The brass liners and jigged red bone on that Boker is a really nice combo.

Back to the Churchill.

Beautiful knives! But my eyes were drawn to the HP calculator. What model is it? Love HP reverse polish notation!

It is a 32SII I have been using since I bought it new in the early nineties. Used some of my hay cutting money from the summer before my freshman year of high school to purchase it. It got me through high school and college, been on many an offshore oil rig, and now helps in my technical sales roll here in Houston. I can’t even use an algebraic calculator without cussing anymore.

I'm the same way. Mid/late '90s I had a 2-line RPN HP (coulda been a 32S - pictures look right) that my brother won in some academic thing and gave me (he also won a 48GX), and later I got a 48G of my own. Instead of learning math I just played Tetris, Lemmings, and some Space Invader game on it. I have a 49 somewhere still that I bought simply because I liked it (was well out of school by then). Obviously I don't lug that brick around anymore, but I use an RPN calculator on my phone. It's all about the stack, baby.

a beaut, Will.........that effect on the bone really makes a difference too :cool:

Thanks Paul, it brings out the highlights on the bone yes. It's interesting stuff but also appears to be discontinued, I'd really like to get their Whittler in it. It has strange ridges or 'plates' on it enhancing look but also comfort oddly enough. They also did a green/grey version, I gave a Whittler of that to Andi (Humppa) and he seemed delighted with it. He told me you couldn't buy Böker carbon Traditionals in Germany! Bizarre...

Regards, Will
