What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I saw The Clash in Austin in 1981, with Stevie Ray Vaughan opening. I win.

Were they still going then? ;) :D

When I saw them in 1978, the line-up included X-Ray Spex, Aswad, Misty, (later Misty in Roots), Steel Pulse, The Tom Robinson Band, and Jimmy Pursey (from Sham69) jammed with The Clash. Good gig :)

Okay, you win. They were past their prime, in town filming the video to "Rock the Casbah". Not my favorite, but the video is interesting to watch, because Austin looks nothing like that now.

Why is it that bands always get worse with time? ...... Except SRV, he just got better and better.
Rachel ( probably spelling your name wrong, sorry ) That is a odd combo but it must have been a killer show, even if the Clash were past their prime.

This has to be a record for me.

jwb01 jwb01 Great looking Stag 35. ^^^

I just received my 77 Barlow. It is a great knife in all respects, but it also really makes me appreciate my Cougar Clawed Churchill. First of all, the single spring makes the Churchill quite a bit lighter and more compact while packing almost as much usable blade. The position of the secondary on the Churchill also makes the knife more comfortable to use than the 77. You will love the 77, but it definitely will not make you forget your 35!

As a matter of fact, it was an odd show. I'm afraid many in the audience were really not into hearing SRV that night. :( "That guy? I can go hear him at Antone's for $2 cover any old time. Bring out The Clash!"

I can see why that Punch Stockman is sticking with you!:thumbsup:

Superb photos my friend

Very cool, Jack, thanks for the picture and the info. It makes sense. The knife sure fits in the pocket well.

It sure does Stuart :) I only found out when someone posted a pic of the pair. I can't remember who it was unfortunately

I hate that kind of thing, they seemed to mis-match a lot of acts around that time o_O Still do though, a few years ago, I went to see a Hank Williams inspired band 'The Lovesick Cowboys', in a pub, and the audience seemed to be almost entirely composed of people impatient to see the next band, 'Storm' - 50-60 year old men in tight dance leggings, doing Status Quo covers o_O

Anyway! :D I'm carrying these two today :D

I had to take a day off from Case. All of these pictures of the new 77 Barlow run have forced me to pocket my good old 2-blade #77 spearpoint in natural canvas micarta, to go along with my now daily #43. I didn't realize until I took the picture, how much the micarta has darkened over the years with use.
