Wow. Thank you for your effort on this deeply detailed response and knife history lesson. Enjoy your knife! Soon I’ll be searching for one of my own![]()
Sad to think that there will be no more knives from Queen. In memory today:
Complaining about seeing SRV?! Some peoples children. As a matter of fact, it was an odd show. I'm afraid many in the audience were really not into hearing SRV that night."That guy? I can go hear him at Antone's for $2 cover any old time. Bring out The Clash!"
I can see why that Punch Stockman is sticking with you!![]()
I'm not familiar with the Status Quo. I guess I can count myself lucky if they are drawing that kind of crowd.I hate that kind of thing, they seemed to mis-match a lot of acts around that timeStill do though, a few years ago, I went to see a Hank Williams inspired band 'The Lovesick Cowboys', in a pub, and the audience seemed to be almost entirely composed of people impatient to see the next band, 'Storm' - 50-60 year old men in tight dance leggings, doing Status Quo covers
Anyway!I'm carrying these two today

Nice!
That is great! Please give your son a big fat CONGRATULATIONS from me.Kind of a boring picture of a couple of plain Jane working man’s knives...

Can I brag about my son a little? He ran his first Boston Marathon yesterday. Even with the driving rain, wind, and temps of 40 degrees, he was only 3 minutes over his target time.
And because it also happened to be his late brother’s birthday, he says he was thinking of his big brother every step.
Totin' light again today.

Valley Forge Cutlery (Newark, NJ) was founded in 1892 and by 1902 was a Boker USA owned company until 1950. This one is from 1916-1950.

This little guy keeps finding its way into my pocket, and once it's there I can't resist making it glow:

You're just sayin' that about the Stockman because it's from Texas.

The Lovesick Cowboys sound cool, though. Have you heard Hank Williams III ?
Nice knife combo.
The little 25 is a looker.
Once again.

Yep, a corian “why so serious” by Lannier. Thanks! Is that white knife a Roland Lanier?
Cool combo!
That Valley Forge Knife is so pretty, I love that it has an oversized pin at the bottom even though it’s a jack knife. Very cool.
How do you make it glow, just leave it in the sun? Put it under a black light?
Man, the colors in that patina are astounding! Do you cut a lot of meat?
You should brag about your son a lot!!! That’s very impressive and commendable, you must be so proud.
Well everyone, I’m in a hotel waiting to fly to Texas tomorrow morning for my grandmother’s funeral. Sad to say goodbye to an incredible woman (though she had a very full and badass life), and also sad I won’t be carrying any knives for the next few days.
I’ll be keeping my eye on this thread to live vicariously through you fine folks, and I should have three new knives and a custom pocket slip to show off when I get home!
Thank you my friend !!! I do not carry any them often and actually use them even less . I was lucky to acquire all 8 of the series in 2016 . Was not doing any work today so I did not need either of the TEW's .Nice!
I don’t recall seeing those before. Lovely bone!
Taking a break from TEWSday, huh?
I think some of that is reflection. I did cut some meat with it and used the punch to scrape / clean out the garlic press.Man, the colors in that patina are astounding! Do you cut a lot of meat?
