So much rain today that I decided to tote my stainless Tribal Lock in Zebra.
Cool pic, Leslie!:cool::thumbsup: How do you like that Tribal Lock?

Those are ravishing jacks, Steve; incredible covers/colors on both!:cool::thumbsup: (The original Leatherman is also cool. I carry mine all the time.)

Today I carry my special Portuguese knife...

Definitely a special knife, Senhor Pinto!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Sunday knife
Such an attractive knife, Dean!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I remember when they first came out, the Case walnut Rogers bone series was all the rage on The Porch, but the enthusiasm didn't seem to last all that long for some reason.

That's a spectacular sowbelly, Buzz!:thumbsup::cool: I really like how dark the chestnut jigged bone is.

Always a joy to see GT :)
Thanks, Jack. :)

5K Qs 5K Qs I'm keen on those Humpbacks too, fine sunk joints and good finish on them. CASE could put a Longpull on that Spear though, odd as they have one on the Half Whittler Humpback (Clip).

Thanks, Will
Thanks, Will. :) I'd never noticed the differences in the types of pulls on the various Humpback models.

Thanks for your compliment on my I*XL Barlow, Gary. I must clarify that my Presidential is one of my favorite knives, the ebony being brown only knocks a point or two off. Note that it is my Avatar!

The photos of your CV Sodbuster Jr and Guardians lambsfoot knives are so clear; it really brings out the beautiful details of each of the knives.:thumbsup:
...
Thanks for the encouragement about my pics. :) Sure wish I could reliably replicate my occasional successful photos. And thanks for the clarification about your Presidential and its ebony. ;)

Gary, I feel sorry for anyone that ever decides to sit down with you for a game of Scrabble! VICISSITUDES? You certainly keep us on our toes! Nice collection of Case knives you've got there, especially that Humpback!
Thanks, Lance. :) My mind is like a lint trap: when I hear or read new words, or see photos of cool knives, they all tend to stick in my head, whether I want them to or not. And for words, I figure "Use it or lose it!" Sorry you have to put up with my weirdness!

I haven't seem many like it, GT, though B. Levine shows two bareheads among the many two-bolstered equal end jacks in his Guide and Case has a Pattern 79 equal end/senator pen that is slightly shorter (3 1/8") that occasionally came without a bottom bolster. Your autumn orange Cases brought some welcomed warmth today. Very nice, as is the chestnut SBJ.

Thanks for the info and the compliments, Stuart. :)

Hope everyone has had a great weekend! I was Totin a GEM today! :D

Ron, do you have any UGLY knives??;) I'm afraid if there was a "beauty contest" between my best knife and your worst, mine wouldn't come out too well! The three above are outstanding!!:cool::thumbsup:

A bit unusual for the USPS to deliver on a Sunday over here but this and some other fine things showed up. It promptly went into my pocket.

Congrats, Dylan; those red sawcut 77 Barlows are very attractive!:cool::thumbsup:

Great album, I don't think I have that one on vinyl.
The bone on that Humpback is lookin' reeeal goood.
the others look great too but those Humpbacks always catch my eye.

Ok, this is starting to scare me. ;):D

Thanks for the kind words, FBC. :) I'm enjoying your magnificent Moore Maker and Music series!:thumbsup:;) I don't think I've ever seen a Marty Robbins album before; I think the only songs of his I know are "El Paso" and "A White Sport Coat". (Didn't the Grateful Dead play "El Paso" often?)

Another week. Carrying my Unity Lambsfoot today, along with a Queen Canoe in D2

The Unity is always impressive, but the Queen canoe catches my attention in that pair, Jack!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

LOL 5K! When I was a lad my mum would command (she never advised ) to "eat up, and don't talk with your mouth full"! And that's wisdom I've followed ever since :D. Just so I could fit in all the pies :)
I actually thought of you when I posted that. It's a pork and apple pie from Haffners Butchers in the town of Burnley in the county of Lancashire. A fine pie. But what was finer was the pork and black pudding pie that followed :thumbsup:

Thanks for advancing my knowledge of British meat pies, @donn .:cool::thumbsup: I fear that if I had meat pies available as a food option, I'd probably weigh 50% more than my current weight! Auspicious Ankermesser!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Drizzling rain today, on and off, so I'll be indoors mostly. These two should suffice, an Imperial small premium jack and an Imperial Girl Scout knife.

That's an interesting pair, Stuart!:thumbsup::cool: I think I have an Imperial jack virtually identical to that, except the plastic "skin" is gone.

Superb knife, Will! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

No self stabbings this birthday! I figure I should save those for anniversaries ;)

Love your Sodbuster Jr.! Looks like it’s seen some good work. The jigging on your example is superb!
...
Today, along with my SAK, I’m carrying this little Case lockback my in-laws gave me as a birthday gift. I’m very impressed with this knife — the fit and finish may be the best of any Case I’ve received yet with near perfect blade centering, no gaps anywhere apparent, and a nice affirmative click when it locks into place.

Your self-stabbing plan makes sense to me! :D;) Thanks for the SBJr props. :) Appealing Case lockback!:thumbsup::cool: (I like your graph paper too.)

...
I also have a Case/GEC combo today. I was going through my Case knives and came across the medium jack which is just the right size (087 frame). Paired with a Blood Red TC Barlow.

... I saw a Case Canoe at the Oregon Show in Red Bone and I came oh so close to scooping it up. The price was good and it really would have been an ideal way to introduce myself to the pattern. ...
I have these two with me today.

Dean and Dylan, I admire your sable-and-scarlet pairs!!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: Dylan, I strongly urge you to try a canoe! But be careful - somehow I've gone from one to forty examples of the pattern, and there aren't many variations to the pattern, really.

Good ol' 494 gifted to me by a generous forum member. I can't seem to put it down.

Great to see you back with a Böker Barlow!:cool::thumbsup:

Always enjoy your ebony and ivory pairings, Jack!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Cool pic, Leslie!:cool::thumbsup: How do you like that Tribal Lock?

GT, the Tribal Lock is tremendous. Large but not too large. Locks up tight. Nice and flat to easily fit in the pocket. Stainless blade. All of these features make it one of my favorites for carrying outdoors. I also love Zebra Wood and cannot understand why it is not used more. Maybe someone else knows why?...

I paid close attention to your orange pocket worn version you revealed a few days ago. It is an excellent looking knife, and I hope you show it often. You were very fortunate to get such a rich, dark, saturated color.

You should brag about your son a lot!!! That’s very impressive and commendable, you must be so proud.

Well everyone, I’m in a hotel waiting to fly to Texas tomorrow morning for my grandmother’s funeral. Sad to say goodbye to an incredible woman (though she had a very full and badass life), and also sad I won’t be carrying any knives for the next few days.

I’ll be keeping my eye on this thread to live vicariously through you fine folks, and I should have three new knives and a custom pocket slip to show off when I get home!

“A very full and badass life”

That is the best epitaph I’ve heard in a long time. A life worth living, and a life to be celebrated!

Complaining about seeing SRV?! Some peoples children.:D
You're just sayin' that about the Stockman because it's from Texas. ;)
Texas, by way of Pennsylvania. ;) Just like me! :D
Can I brag about my son a little? He ran his first Boston Marathon yesterday. Even with the driving rain, wind, and temps of 40 degrees, he was only 3 minutes over his target time.

And because it also happened to be his late brother’s birthday, he says he was thinking of his big brother every step.
Congratulations, that's impressive.

My condolences.

I've got this pair in my pocket again.

Back to my week of Case. I'm carrying the GEC #43 again, along with the Case-manufactured Carhartt medium stockman, with "Rugged Duck" G-10 covers and Tru-Sharp stainless blades. The highly textured covers are particularly chunky on this knife, in comparison to the usual Case 18 pattern cover choices, and afford a superb grip. The brushed "Lazy Duck" bolsters, "As-Ground" blade finish, curved blade tangs, and brass shield are great touches as well. The fit and finish on mine is really, really good. No play in the blades, with smooth crisp pulls and excellent snap on all three blades. Case has this pattern nailed down to a science. The blade grind on the Turkish clip is wickedly thin, making it an absolute cutting machine. I normally stay away from all of those special edition Case knives, that they so seem to love producing. But I really dig this Carhartt run. Very functional knives, and living in Upstate New York, Carhartt is pretty much a way of life here.
