What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks for the kind words, FBC. :) I'm enjoying your magnificent Moore Maker and Music series!:thumbsup:;) I don't think I've ever seen a Marty Robbins album before; I think the only songs of his I know are "El Paso" and "A White Sport Coat". (Didn't the Grateful Dead play "El Paso" often?)
Good thing you are enjoying the Moore Maker and music because I can't seem to stop, haha.
Yes, Grateful Dead did play "El Paso" a lot. They obviously had good taste in music. :D

Texas, by way of Pennsylvania. ;) Just like me!:D

I've got this pair in my pocket again.

You moved to Texas for the BBQ, didn't ya? ;):D
Perfect pair! The secondary on the little one looks kind of Lambsfootish.

Happy birthday, Porch brother.

My computer seemed to crash yesterday so...it's been many hours of back up and investigation ( manual but it needed doing ) If you don't see me for awhile :poop:

Mark Job special

And as the child's rhyme goes ( really a wise metaphor for life )....row row row your boat - gently down the stream - merrily merrily merrily - life is but a dream

Best of luck with that computer, Gevo.

Heading out early tomorrow, with these two accomplices :) Have a great day folks

Have a good.....whatever you're going to do tomorrow. :p:D
Looks like you are well prepared.
If knives could tell stories, I bet that one would be interesting.
Good to see you around these parts again.

The only thing this lacks is a patina...time to get to work cutting my daily quota of fruit

I didn't know Otter made a Sodbuster! I like the looks, the pivot has a rustic coolness to it.

Hey my friend is that new!?:p I'm seeing a pattern here:) shes a beauty:thumbsup:

When I first got my sbj, I was a little turned off by the pile side as it doesn't quite match the mark side. But as it's aged, I like the pile side much more than the mark!

That's happened to me multiple times. That's why I say that (for Case at least), mismatched covers is "a feature, not a bug." :p

C7FB1010-ECC0-4DEB-8CD6-7C6B45280F5A.jpeg I don’t know what got in to me, but lately I’ve become smitten with traditional knives, especially Barlows. I love the shape and its’ history. I just received this gem. I’ve been doing my homework, and know how difficult it is to acquire ones like this. I consider the time and effort required, worth it.

LOL! Great pics Donn, we're seeing a bit of sunshine here in Leeds today ;)

Glorious sunshine over here on'th wrong side of Pennines now. This could be our week of summer :D

This guy is with me today for "Wooden Wednesday".

Lovely grain and colouring on those covers. Another great shot

Congrats! That's a real find! Looks like it's could tell some tales

Thanks for advancing my knowledge of British meat pies, donn donn .:cool::thumbsup: I fear that if I had meat pies available as a food option, I'd probably weigh 50% more than my current weight! Auspicious Ankermesser!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

That pie looks spectacular. I wish meat pies would have more of a presence here. I’d make them myself, though pastries are beyond my comfort zone.

Your right 5K. Meat pies are....how shall we say....quite dangerous.... I'm about to head off for a week of beer and pie fueled shenanigans after which I may very well weigh far more than 100% of my current weight :D
Copperberry my commiserations on the lack of pie in the US...I can't imagine life without pie :D I almost emigrated to Australia about 4 years ago. I was sat one day reading all the visa documents and all I could think was "but I'll have to make my own pies...!!" :D

Just packing for a week away in God's Own.

Well, not just for the BBQ, but I sure learned to appreciate it once I got here. :) The lambitude is an illusion, 'tis merely a coping blade. Of course with a few dozen more sharpenings, who knows. ;)

I'll carry an old Camillus 64 today.

I'm still on a Barlow kick and enjoying the carry of my old micarta #77. I had to leave the GEC #43 at home today, in order to carry the Case BackPocket knife in burnt amber jigged bone and 154-CM steel. The initial color of the bone was kind of lackluster, sort of an oatmeal color. So I dyed it to a darker and richer color, using some brown RIT dye. I really like how it came out. The blade shape is obviously awesome and stylish to look at. Killer swedge. The knife has a good strong pull, and outstanding fit and finish. My only real irk with the BackPocket has to do with the half stop that I wish wasn't there. The knife is so large, and opening it has so much blade travel, that I always worry about ripping a finger nail as momentum snaps the blade hard into the half-stop position. But other than that, the knife is flat out amazing. The BackPocket is definitely one of the Case "must haves".

That is a very nice display of some well used beauties. I absolutely love that wharnecliff #25 and the old Remington stockman looks very tough with its pocket worn bone covers.
Thank you. That old Remington is one of my very favorites. I got it here on the forum. I bet it could tell some tales.
