What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

For Stagurday, a Stidham's Knives cigar whittler, based on the Case pattern 91. The blade selection would make it a stockman, in my mind, but both Stidham and Case dub it a whittler. Maybe it's the blade location (2 opposite the main).

Another stunner, stag and that dogs head shield sends it over the top !

Is that a new "Whiskey Barrel" Boker? It looks nice; I have a few of their "Beer Barrel" knives from a few years back.

Today I took a new arrival from England out for fish & chips! It ended up being shrimp & green beans & mac 'n' cheese, but hey...close enough! ;)

Great stag on that Lambsfoot, Rachel.

Straight from the post and into my pocket. You can just barely see the first little bit of patina forming.

I've got a bunch of posts I want to quote, but I don't have the energy to do it tonight.
So I'll post a few more of my knives for this week and then head for bed.:thumbsup:

It's Ugly Faux-stag Friday! :p

I have a pathological attraction to fake stag.:thumbsup::cool: (A couple that Jack posted looked bad even to me.)

Stunning sowbelly, Gev!!:thumbsup::thumbsup: (Not a stockman as I originally assumed, is it?)

I bought this Case 6347WH a while back and had forgotten about it.

Remedying that, it’s in pocket today. Maybe I’ll get the notion to sharpen it for whittling, too... I struggle a bit with TruSharp, but the secondaries are quite thin and I am hopeful.
Attractive example of the pattern, Greg!:thumbsup::thumbsup: (Do you have trouble with stainless in general, or just TruSharp?)

If you want instant patina...and Rhubarb Schnapps in six weeks!

Interesting! We have some rhubarb ready to harvest, so I'll be doing some mad science (but not brewing schnapps). ;)

In the mean time this will have to do! If you catch my Drift! :D

I've passed through TN several times, but always at night. I had no idea it looked like this, Ron!!

I'm taking a step back from the past today and totin' something more contemporary than my regular companions.

Stuart & Steve, those are both superb "more contemporary" knives than you usually post; I admire your versatility!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: Stuart, why is that model called a Pinch? Congrats on the Churchill, Steve; everyone seems to LOVE them!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Happy Friday, folks!

I have these two with me today. After work, I am heading out to spend a few days in the woods to recharge my batteries a bit. I will probably alter my weekend carries somewhat...

Those are enjoyable woodsy knives, Dylan; I hope your woodsy weekend is also enjoyable!:thumbsup::thumbsup::)

Old friend Friday.
That buttery stag is tasty, Ken!:cool::thumbsup: (Haven't seen the Old Friends Friday thread for a while. :()

I am heading out into the Rhubarb Triangle tomorrow (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhubarb_Triangle) Taking these three with me :) Have a great weekend folks

I hope the Rhubarb Triangle is not like the Bermuda Triangle, Jack!:thumbsup: That trio of knives should help you live to tell us about your rhubarb ramble!:D

Stag day.

Sensational stag stockman!!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Splendid Queen, Lance! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

5K Qs 5K Qs I’m just getting comfortable with two-bladed knives and you want me to jump to three? I’m gonna hyperventilate! :D
I think I'd recommend a Vic Farmer (5 blades) first, and then the stockman will be child's play for you! ;):D

Thanks, Gary. You are missing out if you haven't heard this wonderful record!

Got off too late for a pic so I will use a old one.

Back in the day, my '64 Barracuda had a radio, so I heard "Piece of My Heart", of course. Great shot of Betty!!:thumbsup:

Good eyes, GT! That indeed is a Grinling Whittler that r8shell r8shell very generously made available to me in response to a WTB plea I made last August. I haven’t told you how I like it, but I love it! Pure elegance in every respect. I haven’t whittled much with it yet, but that’ll change some day soon. The secondary blades are nice and thin and will perform well.

In the mean time, it makes me tremendously happy to hold and have in my pocket. Thanks again, Rachel! And, thanks for noticing, GT.
Thanks for the confirmation and information, Greg.:) (Relieved to know that my memory wasn't too faulty regarding that knife.)

That's a knife to break a heart. Thank you for sharing it, GT (and a bit of its story).

That's actually the knife that got me thinking about pocket knives again, back in January of 2014. Funny how something so small can inspire a major life-change!:thumbsup:

:D:thumbsup: I'm just not that organized. I have a half dozen or so knives out on my computer table that I pick from in the morning. I rotate others in from the knife drawer, according to my whims. I've been alternating between the 77 Barlow and 35 Churchill for a while (usually paired with a 22 Esquire), but a few older knives have been calling to come out. :)

The characters in this book are always using their pocket knives.

Would you recommend it for my summer reading, Gev?

Saturday it's Cozido day at the Portuguese cantina (there's a lot more out of sight). Can't miss that!

Both knife and food look delectable, @Jolipapa !!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you, Gary! Your melon tester looks tasty! Is that about 5 inches long?

I have this green, curly maple Case with me today.

Thanks, Dean; I'd say the melon tester is 5" (to the nearest 1/8 inch). Any actual tears associated with that teardrop must be tears of joy!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Charming photo!:thumbsup::cool: Ever consider trying your hand at scrimshaw on one of your white bone Rough Riders?

How do you like your Beer Barrel Bökers, r8shell? I'm likely to get the canoe soon, I think. :) That meal looks like a Texas bait&switch to me!! ;):p

Actually thinking of buying another of these just to give it a go. I also draw as a hobby, well when I take time. I been buying my R.R.'s at a local sports store for the inflated price of $14 lol. Might order me a few smooth bone if I cam scrimshaw worth a darn. As I'm living in east north Carolina at the moment, a series of the daddy barlows with Carolina light houses be kinda cool.
