Another stunner, stag and that dogs head shield sends it over the top !For Stagurday, a Stidham's Knives cigar whittler, based on the Case pattern 91. The blade selection would make it a stockman, in my mind, but both Stidham and Case dub it a whittler. Maybe it's the blade location (2 opposite the main).

Great stag on that Lambsfoot, Rachel. Is that a new "Whiskey Barrel" Boker? It looks nice; I have a few of their "Beer Barrel" knives from a few years back.
Today I took a new arrival from England out for fish & chips! It ended up being shrimp & green beans & mac 'n' cheese, but hey...close enough!

Oh, that's some beautifully deep, dark ebony!Straight from the post and into my pocket. You can just barely see the first little bit of patina forming.

Get some rest, tomorrow is another day!I've got a bunch of posts I want to quote, but I don't have the energy to do it tonight.
So I'll post a few more of my knives for this week and then head for bed.

Stunning stag, striking picture. Thanks for sharing your new friend. Thanks, guys! The pile side's not too shabby, either!
What is that knife in the middle? That looks old and really cool! The characters in this book are always using their pocket knives.

I have a pathological attraction to fake stag.
Stunning sowbelly, Gev!!
Attractive example of the pattern, Greg!I bought this Case 6347WH a while back and had forgotten about it.

Remedying that, it’s in pocket today. Maybe I’ll get the notion to sharpen it for whittling, too... I struggle a bit with TruSharp, but the secondaries are quite thin and I am hopeful.
Interesting! We have some rhubarb ready to harvest, so I'll be doing some mad science (but not brewing schnapps). If you want instant patina...and Rhubarb Schnapps in six weeks!

I've passed through TN several times, but always at night. I had no idea it looked like this, Ron!!...
In the mean time this will have to do! If you catch my Drift!

I'm taking a step back from the past today and totin' something more contemporary than my regular companions.

Stuart & Steve, those are both superb "more contemporary" knives than you usually post; I admire your versatility!Just in today

Those are enjoyable woodsy knives, Dylan; I hope your woodsy weekend is also enjoyable!Happy Friday, folks!
I have these two with me today. After work, I am heading out to spend a few days in the woods to recharge my batteries a bit. I will probably alter my weekend carries somewhat...

That buttery stag is tasty, Ken!
I hope the Rhubarb Triangle is not like the Bermuda Triangle, Jack!...
I am heading out into the Rhubarb Triangle tomorrow (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhubarb_Triangle)Taking these three with me

Sensational stag stockman!!!
Splendid Queen, Lance!
I think I'd recommend a Vic Farmer (5 blades) first, and then the stockman will be child's play for you!5K Qs I’m just getting comfortable with two-bladed knives and you want me to jump to three? I’m gonna hyperventilate!

Back in the day, my '64 Barracuda had a radio, so I heard "Piece of My Heart", of course. Great shot of Betty!!...
Thanks, Gary. You are missing out if you haven't heard this wonderful record!
Got off too late for a pic so I will use a old one.

Thanks for the confirmation and information, Greg.Good eyes, GT! That indeed is a Grinling Whittler thatr8shell very generously made available to me in response to a WTB plea I made last August. I haven’t told you how I like it, but I love it! Pure elegance in every respect. I haven’t whittled much with it yet, but that’ll change some day soon. The secondary blades are nice and thin and will perform well.
In the mean time, it makes me tremendously happy to hold and have in my pocket. Thanks again, Rachel! And, thanks for noticing, GT.
That's actually the knife that got me thinking about pocket knives again, back in January of 2014. Funny how something so small can inspire a major life-change!...
That's a knife to break a heart. Thank you for sharing it, GT (and a bit of its story).

OK, I guess we all have to be us!I'm just not that organized. I have a half dozen or so knives out on my computer table that I pick from in the morning. I rotate others in from the knife drawer, according to my whims. I've been alternating between the 77 Barlow and 35 Churchill for a while (usually paired with a 22 Esquire), but a few older knives have been calling to come out.

Thanks, Dean; I'd say the melon tester is 5" (to the nearest 1/8 inch). Any actual tears associated with that teardrop must be tears of joy!!
Charming photo!
Well-said, Lance!View attachment 913314 Totin' a medium, 32 pattern, Texas Jack today. Hopefully everyone is enjoying their weekend. Thanks to all that have served! -Lance
How do you like your Beer Barrel Bökers, r8shell? I'm likely to get the canoe soon, I think. Is that a new "Whiskey Barrel" Boker? It looks nice; I have a few of their "Beer Barrel" knives from a few years back.
