What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

How do you like your Beer Barrel Bökers, r8shell? I'm likely to get the canoe soon, I think. :) That meal looks like a Texas bait&switch to me!! ;):p
Fried seafood and carbohydrates: what's the diff? :D:confused:
I like the Beer Barrel Bokers, because I like all the Solingen Bokers. ;) I don't quite trust the barrel wood on these, though. It looks nice, but it feels very soft and porous, so I avoid cutting anything wet or messy with it. I'm afraid the wood might absorb stuff. A picture for reference:

After I finish my coffee, I'm going to put a new edge on my new stag lambfoot and start the patinaing! :)

I've passed through TN several times, but always at night. I had no idea it looked like this, Ron!! :rolleyes:
:eek: I didn’t either my friend! :D

Y’all have a great Sunday! :)

Stuart & Steve, those are both superb "more contemporary" knives than you usually post; I admire your versatility! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: Stuart, why is that model called a Pinch? Congrats on the Churchill, Steve; everyone seems to LOVE them! :cool::thumbsup:

Thanks Gary, it's a great knife and I'm sure it is going to become one of my favorites :)

Stuart, why is that model called a Pinch?

I have no idea, GT, other than you can easily pinch it open, nail nick notwithstanding. Extremely smooth action.

That's ravishing, Stuart!!! :thumbsup::cool::eek::thumbsup: Does the shield have special significance?

I believe that Ka-Bar had a line of doghead shield knives and maybe Stidham was emulating that tradition (despite the knife being fashioned after the Case 91 pattern).

I understand. But I just made a rhubarb crisp (like a crumble), which I actually like just as much as an apple crisp. Of course we here in New England now revere lobster, whereas it was spurned in the old days, and is not beloved even now in England if I’m not mistaken.

I can probably use all the sweetening up I can get my friend! :D When I was younger, only the very rich could afford lobster here. Now it's fairly commonplace :thumbsup:

In mathematical symbolism, I'd call that pair MF^2, Jack: Mega-Fashionable & Multi-Functional!! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks for the additional info, Jack. :) You sure know a lot of history of your area! :cool: Maybe learning more of the history of my region would be a good retirement hobby. In the USA, there's certainly a lot less recorded history to investigate than is the case in the "Old World". Sorry to hear that the weather didn't cooperate with your hiking plans.

Thanks GT :) In the end, the weather forecasters got it wrong, and it was actually a pretty fine day :) Interesting two-bladed Melon Tester there :thumbsup:

Got off too late for a pic so I will use a old one.

Looking good my friend :) :thumbsup:

Although I will usually add another for pocket jewelry these two are with me all the time except when I'm at work. A Churchhill and the @Horsewright Cowboy can handle most any daily chore. Although with my new Stag 43 the Cowboy is going to have to share some time.View attachment 913182

Congratulations, @Horsewright makes a great-looking knife :thumbsup:

Today I took a new arrival from England out for fish & chips! It ended up being shrimp & green beans & mac 'n' cheese, but hey...close enough! ;)

Nice to see that Sheffield Lambsfoot having its horizons broadened Rachel ;) :thumbsup:

Straight from the post and into my pocket. You can just barely see the first little bit of patina forming.

I'm enjoying seeing the Guardians knives land Stateside :thumbsup:

I've got a bunch of posts I want to quote, but I don't have the energy to do it tonight. :rolleyes:
So I'll post a few more of my knives for this week and then head for bed. :cool::thumbsup:

Hope you got a good night's sleep GT :) :thumbsup:

I have a pathological attraction to fake stag. :rolleyes::thumbsup::cool: (A couple that Jack posted looked bad even to me. :eek:)

Stunning sowbelly, Gev!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: (Not a stockman as I originally assumed, is it?)

Attractive example of the pattern, Greg! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: (Do you have trouble with stainless in general, or just TruSharp?)

Interesting! We have some rhubarb ready to harvest, so I'll be doing some mad science (but not brewing schnapps). ;)

Those are enjoyable woodsy knives, Dylan; I hope your woodsy weekend is also enjoyable! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::)

That buttery stag is tasty, Ken! :cool::cool::thumbsup: (Haven't seen the Old Friends Friday thread for a while. :()

I hope the Rhubarb Triangle is not like the Bermuda Triangle, Jack! :eek::thumbsup: That trio of knives should help you live to tell us about your rhubarb ramble! :thumbsup::D

Sensational stag stockman!!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Splendid Queen, Lance! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I think I'd recommend a Vic Farmer (5 blades) first, and then the stockman will be child's play for you! ;):thumbsup::D

Back in the day, my '64 Barracuda had a radio, so I heard "Piece of My Heart", of course. Great shot of Betty!! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks for the confirmation and information, Greg. :thumbsup::) (Relieved to know that my memory wasn't too faulty regarding that knife. :rolleyes:)

That's actually the knife that got me thinking about pocket knives again, back in January of 2014. Funny how something so small can inspire a major life-change! :eek::thumbsup:

OK, I guess we all have to be us! :D:thumbsup::D

That's ravishing, Stuart!!! :thumbsup::cool::eek::thumbsup: Does the shield have special significance?

Would you recommend it for my summer reading, Gev?

Both knife and food look delectable, @Jolipapa !! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, Dean; I'd say the melon tester is 5" (to the nearest 1/8 inch). Any actual tears associated with that teardrop must be tears of joy!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Charming photo! :cool::thumbsup::cool: Ever consider trying your hand at scrimshaw on one of your white bone Rough Riders?

Well-said, Lance! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Those two are among the ugliest knives I've ever seen GT! :eek: :D Thanks my friend, I went deep into the Rhubarb Triangle, but came back to tell the tale thankfully! :D :thumbsup:

Thanks, guys! The pile side's not too shabby, either!

Oh, that's some beautifully deep, dark ebony!

Get some rest, tomorrow is another day! :D

LET THE PATINA BEGIN!!!! (add echo effect) :D
I can't seem to type anything about the pile side without it sounding like I am making some sort of innuendo so I will just say nicely balanced stag and leave it at that. :rolleyes::D

Thanks, FBC, Great ebony!

Thanks to you, sir.

what, no 8 track? :eek:;):D The 60's is my favorite era for cars.

Thanks, Gary. That teardrop is actually my favorite one for daily carry - no tears mate!

The QQ is looking good, as usual. :thumbsup::)

Green and yellow teardrop today; subtle right?
