Praying for you and your families, Jeff and @USMCPOP , at what must be an especially tough time.

I second your sentiment, @Ratbert . :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Very appealing green Barlow! :cool::thumbsup:

Tinker was the first Victorinox I ever bought (actually in a "package deal" with a Vic Classic SD); great knife! :cool:
That little "photo charm" is our daughter, who'll turn 30 in about 3 months. She also lost all the dark hair before she turned one, and has been blond ever since.

Nice Memorial Day knife/photo, Dean. :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: Do you prefer the teardrop with one or with 2 blades?

Thanks for the ID and opinion, r8shell. :)

Good practical pair, @JohnDF . :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: Like that suspension clip (and love the shield) on your #43! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks for your and your family's service over the years, Stuart! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Must have been very meaningful for a young Marine to visit such an historic location, @315! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, Stuart. :)

Thanks for sharing the pic of your mementos, @mitch4ging ! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Congrats on the new Bull Nose, Will! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, Harry - I really like the "dimpled" bone on my Klaas canoe. Thanks for the garden info. :thumbsup::thumbsup: We have a couple of raised plots that we haven't used the past couple of years. I hope I can "recharge" them from our compost pile and get them going again next spring.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

That's good news, Jack; I'm to the point where I often think no change is progress! :rolleyes::D
"Eclectic" is a good description of my knife holdings (and of many other aspects of my life). :thumbsup::cool:;)

Really excellent stag lambsfoot, P&G!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: It looks quite pristine, but I'm guessing it's not fresh from the factory.

Grand Grohmann, Hickory n steel Hickory n steel ! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Splendid shrine to your grandfather's memory, r8shell! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

That's a winner, Lance! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Cool story and heck of an heirloom from your grandfather! :cool::cool:

Intriguing knife, Frank! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Pretty peerless pair right there, Todd! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

My Alox Knife on my rotation schedule this week is a 1986 Soldier (thanks, Ken):

But I grabbed another Alox knife as my Free Choice knife this week, a red Pioneer:

My non-Alox SAK this week is a Vic Pocket Pal:

My Bailed non-SAK is my first pocket knife ever (and only one from about 1960-2014), a Colonial Forest-Master:

Thanks, and those are some real great Carries this week.

Remember this knife that had problems with fit, that I almost wanted to toss? Well, I took a dremel with a thin cutting disk and carefully honed the tang where the spring end hits it. Now the spring is even when open, there is a snap and the blade does not droop down any more. The junction between spring and tang is neat. It was a tight spot and I managed to scratch the bolster a bit, but also managed to remove the scrathes. The knife is going to my pocket tomorrow.

I hope everyone had a terrific Memorial Day. Getting caught up in this thread provided a somber reminder that this holiday is not about beers and burgers but about our men and women in the service. Thank you to all of you here who have served and also to those of you who have family in the service as well. Though I did not choose to join up myself, I have numerous family members who have done so and can track their involvement over every major conflict since at least WWII. Though I was particularly busy this last weekend (not grilling), I did take time to say thanks, even though many of them are not around anymore to hear it.

The breeze, the gurgling creek, and the bit of sunshine, accompanied by good black coffee and a sharp knife make for some good moments of thought and introspection.

I do like the SAKs, but that worm groove Colonial "is the bomb"!

It’s hard not to pick up and pocket this old Western barlow modified by Glennbad...

Very nice. Man, I need to send him some of my wounded and worn pieces. What great work!

That's a peaceful picture. Thanks for sharing the serenity, Dylan.

Thank you for your comments, Gary! To not answer your question, I like both the single blade and two-blade teardrops. I have only 1 of 5 that is two-bladed, so that may be a kind of answer. The four knives you showed today are quite the SAK and camp knife grouping! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Today, one of each of my knife passions: Teardrop and Barlow. (I have a lot of stock knives, too, but let's not go there.)

Today it's this one. It was my wife's introduction to my knife hobby. On the way home from our first date (1.5 hour drive) after a long day at Great America in Santa Clara, she was tired and laid down on the front seat of the car (her '71 Duster, and in 1984 we didn't have to worry about seat belt laws) and when she rested her head on my leg, the knife in my pocket bothered her. She was surprised that I had it on me.
