What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks for the comments on my knives, Stuart. :) And special thanks for sharing all your discoveries with the rest of us!:cool::cool: Do you have a go-to research resource (website, book, whatever) or is it mostly Google for each knife?

Internet, LEVINE'S GUIDE TO KNIVES AND THEIR VALUES (1985), GOINS' ENCYCLOPEDIA OF CUTLERY MARKINGS (1998), COLLECTING CASE KNIVES. 2nd Ed, Steve Pfeiffer, and mant assorted old books. But MOST OF ALL: the folks on Blade Forums, such as @Jack Black , @Campbellclanman , @herder , @Gevonovich , @Will Power, Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund , @Ratbert , @veitsi_poika , @waynorth , and many others.

Now, in my golden years, I have this knife affliction and I own dozens of knives (actually in the hundreds by now) and have almost no reason to use any of them, except for food prep and whittling.

I, too, have an abundance of knives, but still can't bring myself to use a traditional folder or fixed blade for kitchen duty (except afield). I have too many kitchen knives (and, I mean, too many) for that. But kudos to y'all who do so. (Yes, I'm too tentative.) It's a nice thing to see.

Yikes, Stuart, that tip-bolstered pair certainly moves the needle a long way for me!:cool::cool::thumbsup: The Union office knife is especially stunning!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, that erasure blade seems to catch the eye. "White-out" ribbon and fluid put that blade in the grave.

That's an imposing old pruner, Stuart, and an exquisite little boys knife!:cool::thumbsup:

Some of my favorites are my CV Case chestnut jigged bone knives. I didn't plan it this way, but my rotation schedule has a couple of them in my pockets this week: mini trapper as my miscellaneous knife of the week

Thanks, GT. I find that I have two of those pruners. Gotta get to work outside. The bail of the boy's knife is a recent gift. The mini-trapper (formerly, dog leg jack) is my favorite.

Someday, I hope my son and grandson value my knives in the same way. I’ve tried to kindle his interest by giving him some. I gave him the EK Bowie his older brother carried in Afghanistan, a Stockman, a SAK, a Camillus tl-29 (of course, lol), and a small fixed blade I made.

My guess is that he will, Jeff. That's a great collection to get him started.

Congrats buddy!
My wife is already talking about the next one and we’re only five weeks into the first one.

That #77 is looking great, I love matchstrike pulls!
