Patriot's Week continues! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I carried these two on the trail today.

Your sawcut Ancient and chestnut teardrop are perfectly pictured in those natural settings, Dean! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, GT. As you know, I'm learning about the knives that I find as I dig through the boxes and cases that my stepfather left to me - find a knife, research it, take a picture, and post it. It's a constant chore, but i love it (so far). Those RR's are nice, particularly the canoe, but the Marble's is one that I could work with.

Thanks for the comments on my knives, Stuart. :) And special thanks for sharing all your discoveries with the rest of us! :thumbsup::cool::cool: Do you have a go-to research resource (website, book, whatever) or is it mostly Google for each knife?

The gloves we're given to me by my dad, issued to him around '78 in basic at ft Bliss TX.
...
And those afe Some real great knives you're carrying, I especially like the little imperial diamond edge.
Thanks for the glove info, Hickory n steel Hickory n steel , and for the knife compliments. :) The Imperial is definitely a skinny little thing!

The Marbles is very cool!

Thanks for your kind comments, GT!
I appreciate your comments, Jeff. :) When I was a kid on a dairy farm, I used my one and only knife a dozen times every day, I think. Now, in my golden years, I have this knife affliction and I own dozens of knives (actually in the hundreds by now) and have almost no reason to use any of them, except for food prep and whittling. :rolleyes:

A Jarrett Fleming Skinner in a new Joufuu pocket sheath along with my new Maher & Grosh 15 boys knife. LOVE the new M&G:thumbsup::cool:

Celebrated my niece’s and daughter’s July birthdays today with some delicious food.
That food looks WAY better than birthday cake to me, Joshua! ;):thumbsup: Birthday greetings to the girls. :cool::cool:

... Here's a 3 blade Imperial senator from 1935-1945 and a Union Cutlery Co. office knife (with erasure blade) from 1911-1951 that may give a better comparison, particularly as to bolsters.

Cool photo of an interesting pair of knives whose handles are almost mirror images of each other! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

I opened one of the drawers in my EDC chest this morning. These two jumped out as two that I haven’t carried in a long time! That’s taken care of now! :)

That 77 Barlow looks like it's served you well, @BeardlessBuckeye ! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Some of my favorites are my CV Case chestnut jigged bone knives. I didn't plan it this way, but my rotation schedule has a couple of them in my pockets this week: mini trapper as my miscellaneous knife of the week and peanut as my peanutish knife of the week. As my free choice knife of the week, I grabbed a chestnut jigged bone teardrop for the triple play!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::p

Real nice trip of Case and bone there, it has lots of warmth in it's color.

Thanks Gary, tang stamp indicates 1946-73 so I'm guessing late 60's early 70's

It's roughly early 60's when they started to use delrin to 1973 which was the last year the 804 was produced. I suspect the 804 may have retained pin through construction after swinden took over most of the schrade line, as I've seen many used delrin examples with pins visible. However with schrade there are no absolutes. Nice example you have.

Thanks, GT! I always appreciate your nice comments.

Terrific trio there, times two!:)
I am partial to the Buck FFG, USA.:cool:
Hard to beat the Case Chestnut bone, just beautiful!:thumbsup:

Love that ol' Ka-Bar, Jeff.
- Stuart

Thanks, Stuart. I don’t see too many of those Whalers floating around, which is too bad - it’s a really useful user and built like a tank.
Thanks for the background on your step dad and his knives. Nice legacy to remember him by. Someday, I hope my son and grandson value my knives in the same way. I’ve tried to kindle his interest by giving him some. I gave him the EK Bowie his older brother carried in Afghanistan, a Stockman, a SAK, a Camillus tl-29 (of course, lol), and a small fixed blade I made.

The Cherry Tomatoes and Basil are coming in. My summer favorites.
Oh yeah, the knives are summer favorites too!

STILL not tired of seeing that little AG Russel!

Yes. It is indeed!

Thanks Barry @gunstockjack for taking care of me again. Love the texture of the jigged bone, single clip, long pull … nice.

Great blade! It looks like they used all their cutler’s skills to fit that much blade in that knife.
