What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

wJrCpba.jpg

Carrying the Peanut today. I am constantly surprised at how capable it is for the small package.

Achingly beautiful knife, Alan!:cool::cool::thumbsup: But I'm confused. I first thought it was a Tacosa, but I don't see the lock release. Then I thought it was one of the legendary stag single-blade 73s, but did they come with a lanyard hole??

... joeradza joeradza Alan had sent me this killer wind-up Porsche!!! Thanks for such a thoughtful and beautiful gift! My wife was blown away … she learned a valuable lesson today. Thanks Alan.

Congrats on the hot sports car, @Chief , and kudos to Alan for his thoughtful generosity!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

Have my old Taylors Eye Witness in my pocket today since today is a workday . Got my Cane back from one of the Grandsons , who did some scribing on it and I decided to inlay a few Nickels into it .

Harry
I really like your shovel handle cane, Harry, but this one with the inscriptions and nickels is super high class!!:thumbsup::cool:

An early Schrade sleeveboard pen, my friend. Here is is open

Unbelievable pics, Gev, and that Schrade pen knife is why I hang out here!! ;):cool::cool:

Those are all great looking knives, Gary, but your mini copperhead is the cat's meow!
...
Today, I carried the 2015 BladeForums double-ended jack.

Thanks, Dean; I think that mini copperhead looks good enough to post in the "Aesthetics" thread if I ever get around to it. ;) Your CSC Forum Knife is always a welcome sight, and I envy you the pleasure of having the world of Calvin & Hobbes ahead of you to enjoy for the first time.:cool::thumbsup: Maybe my all time favorite comic strip, although at times I was quite a fan of Doonesbury and Bloom County (and currently Pearls Before Swine, and even Pickles).

Eye-catching Peanut!!:thumbsup::thumbsup: That is either very impressive stag, or the best bone stag I remember ever seeing, but I'm not sure which.

Compelling canoes in the opinion of this canoesseur!:thumbsup::cool:

That's a very smooth, aerodynamic Buck, L lambertiana !:cool::thumbsup: Which model is it?

Sheep's in the meadow, cow's in the corn, lamb's in your pocket!:thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

First time ever carrying.

Goodness! I sure find knives with checkered covers (including Alox I think) to be incredibly captivating!!:cool::thumbsup:

Old pic because it's been raining since Saturday afternoon. We got 7 3/4" so far & up to 4" more in the forecast for today & tomorrow.
...
We've had a very dry summer, but that sounds like way too much of a good thing!!:(

Peach seed jigged bone 66 for the day.
Love the peachseed theme, Ken! ;):thumbsup::cool:

The Porch is absolutely buzzing over the torrid affair that couple seems to be having, Jack!:rolleyes::p

Today...

Touching tribute, Jeff; can't imagine how tough this day must be for you. You're in my prayers.

... I decided to tackle a long delayed task - turn 250 feet of 3/4" nylon braid climbing/rappelling rope given to me by a buddy into some useful lengths to keep in the truck box, hunt camp, and boat house. I'm cutting, fusing, and whipping the ends today with this Schrade Walden model 163.

That bad boy looks like he's all business!:thumbsup::cool:

Today's carry for WW.
Wood and Steel, indeed!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Great title for wooden Wednesday!:thumbsup::)

...
The pile is slowly getting smaller! Very slowly!!
:thumbsup::thumbsup::)

Haven’t posted in a while due to life/general business but I am going to try to check in more often. Great stuff today! I have these two onboard and haven’t had the opportunity to cut anything yet :).

screen grab
Hey! Great to see you and one of your customary fixed/folder pairs, Tom!! :):thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, GT. I'll post a pic of the pit when I get to the bottom. Each of your trio is tempting, but that 303 catches the eye (at least mine).

:D:D Promises, promises! Thanks for the compliment on the Buck. :)

The Buck 303 is a stalwart stockman for a scholarly sage such as you, Gary!:)
Thanks for your sibilant support, Dean. :)

For Wooden Wednesday, I carried my ebony GEC Boy's knife and curly maple Case teardrop.
Ron, Rachel, & Dean, you're each Wizards of Wooden Wednesday, and your pairs this week all have wood that makes me go WooHoo!;):cool::thumbsup:

The heat continues in Scandiland, hottest summer since 0000 :D Today 30c and not cool at night, so when everything is melting you need a cool knife ;)

Very cool knife, indeed, Will, but I hope you get a break from the heat soon!:thumbsup:

Thanks Gary! Indeed, it is a Stockman.
Thanks for the confirmation, Lance.:)

This week my canoe is a NKCB gunboat (thanks, TsarBomba) and my watch pocket knife is a Klaas mini canoe:

It was dark and I was running late for work this morning. I quickly grabbed my Case Yellow Handled Stockman (so I thought). At work I pulled out my knife and 'lo and behold', I had grabbed my Crisner Indianhead by mistake. Certainly a pleasant surprise for a Monday morning:

I have always liked the Risner Indian Head stockman knives and your’s is a great example! Very nice!

Cool Catt, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool: I have several electrician models, but not Catt; is the liner lock steel instead of brass??

Knives for me this week include a silver Alox Classic (thanks, Ken), a red celidor Tinker, and a Valox Cadet (thanks, Clay):

Great basic SAK. I have a Wenger like the Tinker, if I remember right, they call it the Canyon. Disappears in the pocket until you need it.

The Cattaraugus has brass liners.

And thank you very much for your other words!

The nights have been pretty cool here. I keep my balcony door and all windows open 24/7. :D

If you ever go a day without a lambsfoot I’ll know something wrong has happened. Nice pairing!

:D

Thanks, Jack, for the encouraging words and for sharing the stag photos - Abbeydale Jack is always a favorite with me! :):thumbsup::cool:

Thanks a lot GT, the Abbeydale Jack is more knife than I need most days, but I always enjoy carrying it :) Looks like you're well-equipped, as usual, my friend :)

LOL! :D Thanks again pal, I've had to separate those two today in case my pockets go up in smoke! :D Great looking Canoes, my own NKCA Gunboat is due a trip out :)

Piano keys today ;)
