What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I've never seen a wavy shield like that. Nifty!

Last run of #66 in tortoise acrylic had a wavy sheild. A little more subtle, and shorter.

Playing catch-up, Wed/Thurs edition; after this, maybe I can quit whining about being behind on this thread. :rolleyes:

What's happened to Primble? ...
Thanks, Will
I'm always surprised at the "turnover" in members here, although I suppose I shouldn't be.

Wooden Wednesday.
Fantastic Wooden Wednesday choices, Jeff & John & Ken

Pocketful of goodies there, @coolhand68 ! The Ohta is outstanding! :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:

Found this Buck 500 Duke today. ...

Congrats on the Buck! :thumbsup::cool::cool: Very attractive lockback.

Really like the black/orange combos, Tom & Ron! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

... a Miller Brothers swell end (or teardrop) jack. The firm went out of the pocket knife production business in 1926, so this fellow is a bit long in the tooth. Like all of the Millers that I have or seen, they were all pretty well made.

W:eek:W! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: It's Miller Time! ;)

Wooden Wednesday, so my Ebony Ancient is in pocket today.

Very nice, and somewhat unusual here, Dean! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: I don't recall seeing many of the ebony first-run Ancients; the scratted bone appears much more frequently.

Happy Vacation-ing.
Thanks GT! Hope your enjoying your vacation! :)
Thanks, John & Ron. :) Very relaxing so far, and our daughter will arrive tomorrow to be with us for a week. :thumbsup::cool:

A good ole Victorinox is always a safe bet for carrying. If I think back some 40 years ago, or more, you had two choices, at the local hardware an Oldtimer or Victorinox.
I think in my community 60 years ago, it was Colonial or Imperial. :)

LOL! :D Thanks GT, cool pic of your Electrician :thumbsup:
...
Thanks, Jack. The photo is a couple of years old, but since we've vacationed in the same spot for 28 years, it's still timely. ;)

The sun is shining and the WiFi works! Liverpool:

Safe and enjoyable travels, Brother Guardian! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, Gary. I hope you show us your walking stick when you are done!
I'll see what I can do, Dean. :) For me, whittling has to be ALL about the process (almost always enjoyable), not the product (almost always disappointing). :rolleyes:

Compelling redbone couple, Leslie!! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Thanks, GT. Luckily, the complete numeral is 6668, missing the curse by a black cat's whisker. I could go all week with just my Electrician, but what's the fun in that.

Thanks for easing my mind with that numeric correction, Stuart. ;) Insightful statement about the Electrician; I'm STILL trying to adjust to the idea of a pocket knife as more than a tool. :rolleyes:

Notable Otter sodbuster! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Another stunning Scout, Paul! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

In the early hours (here), I had an incredible truth revealed to me, by r8shell r8shell , in the Guardians thread - that there was never any ham in a hamburger! :eek: I'm so staggered, I'm having to hang onto a Lambsfoot with each hand! :eek: ;) :thumbsup:

:D:D Nothing like some two-fisted lambsfooting to help maintain a grasp on reality! :thumbsup::thumbsup::p

I always enjoy seeing either of those knives, Shawn; paired up is a real treat! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Superb stag lambsfoot, r8shell! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm going to be in a fun rotation for a while. I have to pair my new lockback whittler with my other knives to see how they get along.

Looking forward to your match-making, Alan! ;):cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yes. Bacon is always the answer.
Words to live by, Jeff! :D:D:thumbsup:

A radio jack with me today.

Splendid pair, Tom! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Today's carry: the Cub Scout knife I've been looking for. It cleaned up nice and has a lot of life left in it.

Hey, now, that's an all-star! :cool::cool::thumbsup: Congrats, @waverave !

I do enjoy carrying it, it's a very nice sized knife. But it always looks backwards to me. ...
Maybe the "Eureka moment" is when you realize it's not backwards! ;)

Today I'm enjoying my new alox Cadet. My first alox and I really like how slim and light it is...

Congrats, Ace; that's a beauty! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: But don't bother calling the doctor - Alox Pox is an incurable disease/addiction! :(:eek:

Thanks for your kind words 5K Qs 5K Qs ,
Ya got a great sense of humour too:thumbsup:
Thanks, @Aryan29 . :)

Today was my first hike since my surgery. I felt great. It was a two knife journey.

A farmer's jack. (aka Northfield Orchard Gem)

My latest teardrop, Case bonestag CV.

Phenomenal pair, Dean, and congrats on your hike!! :cool::cool::thumbsup: (Beyond the mailbox, right? ;))

Btw i always love seeing that Imperial jack,I admire how simple and often unappreciated the shell construction imlerials are when they cut so well.
Thanks, and I second that emotion. ;)

Ulster scout, which has surprisingly fast become a favorite(maybe not so surprising, I did carry a Vic sak from ages 10-20), and the Imperial stockman, these old Imps take an amazing edge!
5K Qs 5K Qs , thanks! I have recently acquired a couple Imperials, I also got a Hammer Brand jack a lot like your Imp. Mines got some neat "covers", there's a pic on the newest addition thread.
Yeah, I like my Imperials (and Colonials) as well as almost any of my knives I think. The nostalgia factor is big for a geezer like me, but I also think they cut as well as any knife I've got.

Here's a Colonial I'm carrying this week (and last week and next week - didn't have time to carefully select knives for vacation, and just kept the ones I carried last week and grabbed a handful of others :rolleyes:):

I can only imagine!!! My recent acquisition of a vintage Buck 305 has given me Buck fever, too. The store where I bought the Cadet also had a nice selection of Bucks (as well as Vic, Case, and Benchmade). I wanted a drop point 112 so bad! But honestly, the 110/112 seem so bulky and heavy now compared with something like a tribal lock (which I carry in a horizontal sheath).

You won't notice the weight of even a 110 on your belt.
Personally, I think the heft makes them easier to use. After an hour or so, a lighter knife has my hand hurting. The 110 after a few hours, no pain.

Somehow the Beer Scout snapped closed on my middle finger today. Yesterday I sliced my pointer finger while cleaning knives. So now I have two fingers bandaged up and can barely open and close my knives.

Apparently your pointer finger felt sorry for your middle finger and decided to join in his misery. Hope the cuts weren't too deep.

Man, miss a couple of days and you are left in the dust. Recycled photo but I’m using it. 5K Qs 5K Qs its been a week since I started packing it. It’s pretty hard to talk to Grandad on the phone with his hearing so he doesn’t know that I even have it.

I know what you mean -- my 110 dates to about 1975 and I carried it so long that I wore out the original sheath and had to buy a new one. Now it just seems a bit bulky compared with other available options. See, that's my excuse for wanting to buy a 112... ;)
