Somehow the Beer Scout snapped closed on my middle finger today. Yesterday I sliced my pointer finger while cleaning knives. So now I have two fingers bandaged up and can barely open and close my knives.

Wish you speedy recovery, hope the cuts are not deep, u have a sharp knife, and maintained well.
Cheers!

Thanks, Jack. The photo is a couple of years old, but since we've vacationed in the same spot for 28 years, it's still timely. ;)

:D:D Nothing like some two-fisted lambsfooting to help maintain a grasp on reality!:thumbsup::p

Yeah, I like my Imperials (and Colonials) as well as almost any of my knives I think. The nostalgia factor is big for a geezer like me, but I also think they cut as well as any knife I've got.

Here's a Colonial I'm carrying this week (and last week and next week - didn't have time to carefully select knives for vacation, and just kept the ones I carried last week and grabbed a handful of others ):

Certainly looks like a great place GT :) It's going to take me a while to adjust to reality on that one my friend! :D Always good to see your Colonial

Great-looking forum knife Kevin, I keep meaning to carry mine more :) Cool-looking slingshot too

I've got quite a busy Friday, so I better quit lollygagging here! ;) Got these two with me today

Thank you, I have some Neosporin and bandaids on both fingers and these cuts will be healed soon. We are headed back to GEC now for another day of knives.

I have my GEC Canoe with me today. I chose this one because it does have an easy pull.

I'm in San diego visiting my parents. We went to Lefty's for some proper Chicago style deep dish.

When I'm in New York, I will be eating the opposite of that pizza. :p
Was the Beer Scout opening a few beers? Shouldn't play with knives while drinking!
 Then when will I get to play with my knives? :D

Just an old Boker today:

Today was my first hike since my surgery. I felt great. It was a two knife journey.

A farmer's jack. (aka Northfield Orchard Gem)

My latest teardrop, Case bonestag CV.

I really like the woodland shots! Nature has recuperative powers, as does carrying a couple of favorite pocket knives! Good to hear the recovery progresses.

Thank you. I have seen a lot of variation in the coloring of stag, but I don't know it's because of natural variation, or because of treatment with chemicals like potassium permanganate. I assume mine is natural, since the pile side looks very different.

That’s a looker for sure! I think I like the pile side better, but that’s fluid.
As for you, you didn’t have to choose- you got both!

Still like that ivory Colonial jack! Which knife are you whittling with while vacationing?

Until you hit bone, they are mere flesh wounds.
Have you ever tried super glue?
It really works, in fact that was it’s original purpose when it was invented during the war in Vietnam.

I cut myself just before Xmas last year. I was on my own at the time, and though I keep a reasonable first-aid kit, I was just getting blood all over the kitchen, so I reluctantly caught a cab to the hospital. I asked the nurse what she thought about using super glue, saying I had friends who used it directly on a wound. She looked at me, rolled her eyes, and said, "That's just the sort of thing a man would do!" :D
