What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The Puma came along for some HOT Krispy Kremes !

tsHYNoc.jpg

Don’t care what anyone says. There is no better donut in the world than a fresh, hot, gettim while the red light is on Kripsy Kreme donut.

I dropped this #13 Sambar Clerk in my pocket today. It is a nice slim classy carry! Oh, did I say it is Stag! :D

Definitely a classy Clerk, Ron!:cool::thumbsup:

This is what I'm carrying while on vacation.

With a knife like that, whenever you carry it must be like a vacation!! ;):thumbsup:

Another vibrant vintage stockman! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

That EO teardrop is a very attractive knife!:cool::thumbsup:

Good ol Schrade
Thanks for the tip(s), Nick!:thumbsup:;)

...
Thanks, GT. I like that CAse soddie, but since I have one, I give a nod to the r8shell re-worked knife.

Thanks, Stuart. :)

Saturday's carry

Premier pair, FBC!!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Is the lower one one of your German stag whittlers?

Had the Camillus #69 Stockman with me at work.
This is nice and slim and gets sharp!

...
IMHO, that's almost an ideal stockman!:thumbsup::thumbsup: (I don't like the exposed tip on the sheepsfoot.)

These today while out and about and also when Grilling the chicken .
Old Red and the #35 Churchill Pickle .

Harry
What a couple of vibrant, colorful knives, Harry!:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks Gary. BTW I reopened the gaw so the canoe is still in the water.
I noticed that; hope springs eternal! ;)

Very cool canoe! That's one pattern I do not have. Hmm. The Boker is so nice.

Yes, I do play some slide at church! Not in any of todays 6 songs, but I often play quietly in the background while other stuff is going on to "set the mood", and slide fits that well. My wife gives me the eye if I happen to get carried away and start to drown out the pastor. Fortunately, he likes it, so all's well. I really am lucky and blessed to get to do this.
Thanks for the canoe compliment, Jeff, and for confirmation on the musical stuff (about which I know almost nothing). :)

Lol GT! I just finished drinking a glass of chocolate milk!
The power of suggestion! ;)

...
I’ll try my very best not to let you down GT!
:D I'm pretty easy to please, actually.

...
That's a fine knife to be totin', GT
- Stuart
Thanks, Stuart; the mini copperlock is the one I actually settled on for this week. :)

Thanks for the compliments my friend, that's a classy trio you're carrying there, I especially like the Beer Barrel Canoe :)

It's a holiday here, and the area where I live hosts Europe's oldest West Indian carnival. I'm carrying this year's Guardians Lambsfoot in ebony, an' me t'ree star Okapi! ;)

Thanks, Jack. :)
By coincidence, my schedule this week has me carrying an Okapi identical to yours as my International Knife of the Week.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

That's a fine carry on any day, but, Happy Birthday! :)

Jeff, "Leaves Of Three Let Be" Ivy or it's first cousin Oak or it's second cousin Sumac has slipped up on me big time!!!  We've been doing a lot of landscape work and I thought I was extra careful but I got it anyway! So I'm treating the effects as much as one can and I'm staying indoors for a couple of days out of the heat to keep it from spreading anymore! I've got these two close by this morning just in case I need to cut something! :D

Couple of classic curvaceous knives, Ron!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I hope your plant reaction isn't too bad and you'll be back to 100% ASAP.:thumbsup:

Monday Morning Mighty Might...
Nice RR peanut, John!:cool::thumbsup: It's about time for my Labor Day buying spree, and I'm likely to order my first RR peanut (in amber jigged bone) and at least one of the RR yellow-handled carbon steel folders (probably canoe and sowbelly). :)

I'm off on a Mighty Monday theme by totin' this 5 1/4" Queen model 38 from 1950-1955. This model, called both a Jumbo One Blade and a Swell Center Coke Bottle in Queen's publications, first appeared in their 1950 catalog. Notwithstanding the development of Queen's stainless Queen Steel in 1945, the 4 1/4" saber ground blade is in 1095 tool steel.

Pleasing photo of your TC with the distinctive coloration, Dean!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Practical carry for today.
Champion Calf-Roper, Ken! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

For the second week in a row, I have a surprising (to me) number of Case knives on my schedule.
As always, I have this chestnut jigged bone SBJr (from a BigBiscuit GAW):

Thanks GT, I'd have a tough time deciding on which of those to carry as well. I vote the canoe :).

Remington again today, and likely tomorrow, etc.

Good catch, Jeff, and I'd wipe that blade down with rubbing alcohol before using it on another steak.

I can get it bad, too, Ron, so I try to take a shower within an hour of being in any brush with bare arms or legs (though that isn't always possible, so wet wipes have to do). I hope that pretty pair brings you some comfort.
- Stuart
Ha! Never touched it. The touching will be done with 2-4-D. That’ll take care of it! I’m not cursed with a severe allergy to it anyway. Just brushing it is no problem for me. It only gets me when I break it and get the sap on me.

Half/Stop Half/Stop - sorry about your discomfort. Been there.
Hey - in case you guys don’t know, never wash with hot water. It opens your pores and makes it much worse. Plus, it spreads it further. The sap is an oil, so something like Dawn helps cut it.

That’s an awesome pair of Northfields Harry! :)

Hope you'll be OK soon Ron, that's a fine-looking pair my friend

That's a resplendent and redolent red, Harry. Query: isn't cheese curds and cheese cottage cheese? Pardon my ignorance, I'm just an old Southern boy and we had hoop cheese, pimento cheese, and Velveta, so I'm still learning (said as I munch manchego as a homework task).
- Stuart

I am certainly not an expert on cheese and I do not know how they get Cottage Cheese . I believe that as you make cheese you first get Curd . You can then press the Curd into Blocks of Cheese . Here in Wisconsin there is a large market for the Curds as well as the Blocks . If Curd is fairly fresh and is close to room temperature , it will squeak as you chew it . We go to a cheese factory where they make Muenster Cheese , which is our favorite Curd .

Harry

Fresh cheese curds are great, although I think they’re even better fried. :D

It’s been a while since I’ve made pimento cheese; I’ll have to remedy that soon. Homemade pimento cheese on Ritz crackers with a glass of sweet tea is just about the perfect afternoon snack in my opinion.

Nice personalized pocket slip, Jack! (That #77 BF knife ain’t too shabby, either!)

Is that a kitchen knife or a small machete? :D

That’s a nice Ancient John! That’s my only disappointment from the 2018 Rendezvous. I was standing at Charlie’s table when he got the box of TC’s to sell. He was waiting to find out the price from GEC. Somehow I got distracted with something or someone and the next thing I knew I had missed out on the 2018 Rendezvous Special Ancient! :( I have a lot of TC’s so I can take comfort in that fact, but dang a man only gets so many chances at a 1 of 25 TC!

I already posted this in the Saturday Stag thread but I forgot to post it here! So here is this big ole 53 TK in Natural Stag that is keeping me company today! :D

32401888766_058f0fbb3e_b_d.jpg

Sorry to hear you missed out on that Rendezvous TC, Ron. :(

I have my 66 Calf Roper I won from my friend @supratentorial in a GAW and my Canal Street Eric's Jack.

U9mZ4ih.jpg

Good looking knives, Randy. How do you like that #66. That's a pattern I've passed on so far, but have been curious about.

Nice smooth white bone #78 you've got there. Did you do the EO notch yourself? It fits the knife well.

Challenge pen for today. Hope you guys are having a good Saturday.

Good ol Schrade

Great jigging on both of those, and the tip bolsters are fantastic!

A 2012 (CC HJ6) 66 Teamster Jack in Tomato Acrylic, a gift from my friend in NZ:thumbsup:

Jack, I remember you mentioning the West Indian Carnival last summer. I believe it was around the time that we were visiting my brother in Bath.

The Puma came along for some HOT Krispy Kremes !

tsHYNoc.jpg

Don’t care what anyone says. There is no better donut in the world than a fresh, hot, gettim while the red light is on Kripsy Kreme donut.

Man, those look delicious! It's been a while since I've had one, but I have to agree with SVTFreak -- when they're hot, Krispy Kreme donuts are about as good as a donut gets. (Sadly, there are no Krispy Kremes in Minnesota. Heck, it seems like there are hardly any donut shops around here at all. I wonder if Minnesotans just aren't that into donuts? It's a bummer. :()

That's a nice quartet of Case knives, GT.

I've been carrying this Tidioute #72 Lockback for a few days. I love how smoothly/easily it opens and closes, and the lockup is solid, but after a couple sharpenings the blade still touches the backspring a bit if I let it close on its own. For now, rather than sharpening away more metal, I just stuck a piece of leather (the same as I used for the lanyard/fob) down in the blade well to keep the edge from hitting the spring. Works perfectly, and eventually, after a few sharpenings after use, I'm sure it will no longer be necessary.

It's a 6" butcher, but whoever had it before me made a sheath for it.
Is it still a kitchen knife if it was never used as one ?

I really like the Calf Roper it just feels right in my hand, takes a wicked edge and will pretty much handle any cutting needs I have.
