What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I've had this one with me today. Apparently, it is Schrade Saturday!

Okay, a couple of Schrades for Schrade Saturday...

Oh Python is great, I can only recommend it. ...
I admire your enthusiasm for Python, and enjoyed reading about some of your experiences with it. Thanks for the recommendations for resources, too.:cool::cool::thumbsup:

... I'm having to race through this thread, otherwise I won't get a chance to post at all :(
...
Thanks a lot pal, unfortunately, the recuperative power of the Double Lambsfoot Day was marred by lugging a heavy bag of Lambsfoot knives back from Sheffield! o_O Great knives there :)

Jack, I agree; this thread DOES move too fast for me currently to comment on as many posts as I used to. I think for September, I'll try commenting only on my two favorite posts for each page.

I'm glad you retrieved those stag lambsfoots, Jack; yours is splendid :thumbsup::thumbsup:. But I'm sad it was at the expense of your already-aching back!:( Sometimes, we're our own worst enemy.

I think about food too much! :( Ron, your lovely pair of knives reminds me of strawberries and cream!:thumbsup::rolleyes:

Carrying this wonderful pair gifted to me by my friend, joeradza joeradza , to remind me of how lucky I am. Truly, Alan. Thank you.

Tribute to Alan, day.
I am carrying this thoughtful gift from my friend joeradza joeradza today! Thanks, buddy!

Very nice, Shawn & Mark!!:cool::thumbsup: I've also become a beneficiary of Alan's thoughtful generosity, and I'm enjoying tracking his gift across country right now! Thanks, Alan! :):thumbsup:

Thanks GT, yeah it reached 86 degrees inside my place at one point , less than ideal to be sure. I had the bad luck of it breaking during an excessive heat warning, but all is well now. I really like the pic of the Okapi, that is a cool knife  .
...
Glad your AC is working again, Tom!:cool: I feel like I'm getting "soft" because both my car and my house have AC that I use almost constantly during the summer; up until about 8 years ago, neither had AC. Great pair of knives; good to see you enjoying that Rem. Scout!:cool::thumbsup:

... I like that locking sodbuster (very handy).

Thanks, Stuart. :) It's more knife than my lifestyle requires, though. ;)

...
Hope you had a great vacation GT :) THank you, I hope to get a chance to properly play with them soon! Nice Keen-Kutter there :)
...
Thanks, Gary! Your Keen Kutter IS keen!:thumbsup:
Thanks, 5K Qs 5K Qs ! That’s quite a nice Keen Kutter you have there.
...
Thanks for the kind Keen Kutter compliments, Jack & Dean & Spaten. :) I think it's my oldest knife (but not even 90 years old).:thumbsup: Dean & Spaten, those are some nice Cases you posted; what size are the stockman knives, and what does Case call the covers?

That's more positive than what I usually tell them, I'll start using yours!!!
It's positive, but not everyone believes me!:( Still working on my sales pitch after 45 years!

Outstanding pic, Ken; the bone does look like it could be the same composition as the billiard balls.:cool::thumbsup: What ARE pool balls made of these days, and could it be used for knife handles?

Black (and White and Red all over) Friday.

I've wanted to use that phrase for ages, @Dschal ; well done!! :):thumbsup::cool:

I have this Schrade Senator pattern that @glennbad gave me along with a RR I won from him in a GAW. He had put Mammoth Ivory covers on it. The tang stamp indicates it was from 1946 thru the 1950's but I believe they added the USA to the stamp in 1954 it's in excellent condition for a knife that's at least 64 years old. Thanks Glenn I love this knife you are the man.

Phenomenal gent's knife, Randy; Glenn really outdid himself!!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

I'm taking tomorrow off, and heading over to the nearby West Yorkshire town of Huddersfield :) Hopefully visiting the local flea-market, and maybe getting a bit of a hike in :) I shall have these two with me (as well as a Vic Alox Electrician in my bag)

Happy trails to you until we meet again, Jack! ;) I admire your flora and fauna lambsfoot pair!:thumbsup::thumbsup::D

Congrats, Joshua; that is a charming couple of matched lambsfoot knives!! Lovely and distinctive!!:cool::thumbsup:

An old Boker, and an older Boker.

Zwei wunderschöne Böker Taschenmesser, @r8shell ; sehr gut!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

After carrying small all week, I wanted to have a big weekend. ...
Definitely barking with the big dogs today, John!:thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

Superb pic!:thumbsup::cool: I can hear The Doors singing, "Riders on the stag". :D

S is for Schrade. Schrade Walden that is.

Have you and @kenspen been consulting on thematic photo composition, Greg?!? ;) That's a clever pic and appealing knife!:cool::cool:

My first love is also a multi-bladed knife, two blade Jacks with clip main and spear secondary to be more specific. But I find for inconspicuous carry at work, the single blade knives just disappear in the pocket and will handle everything I run across in my work environment. Most people hardly take notice of the little #14 if they happen to see me using it.
Thanks for the rationale, John; makes sense to me!:thumbsup::cool:

Sorry for quoting you in two separate posts, I'm just not a master at multi-quotes like some of YOU.
That Case Slim Trapper sure does look "slicey". I bet it rips through food prep quickly.
That's a gift from @Whetstone39, and it's ideal in the kitchen; it can span the biggest onions and potatoes I use, and it is a fine example of "grind thin to win"! ;):thumbsup:

...Thank you for the kind comment, Gary!

It was interesting to read that your favorite blade shape (true love) is the spearpoint I seem to have more than my fair share of those! I noticed only one of your kitchen knives is a spearpoint, which is understandable.
Thanks, Dean. Until a week ago, I had an Opinel #8 Garden Knife in the kitchen; maybe my favorite Opinel because of its spearpoint blade (although I'm ambivalent about the Inox). But I gave that to my daughter as a kitchen knife when she moved to Minnesota. :):thumbsup:

Such a sensational knife, Dean; jaw-dropping jigging is just the start!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks GT! :) The emerald anniversary is 55 years! I may not make that! :D
Think positive, Ron!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::D

Here's one of my knives that never rotates out of my pockets (thanks, @r8shell ):

Not to get us to far off topic in this thread, keep up the sales pitch. Your doing good work for future generations. Unfortunately there will always be math students like me, with no head for numbers. My 11th grade math teacher was trying his best to get me enthused about it, we debated back and forth. I said I understand algebra is a primer for higher math, but I'll never need more than basic. I said I will never use algebra to which he said "Why I use algebra every day!" I said of course you do YOU got a job TEACHING it. He looked at my kinda blank for a second and said "I don't have a come back for that, but you still got to do it" I said, I know. He helped me through it and I barely eked by. Then my stupid self didn't bother to go back for my 12th grade year. After many years I finally got a G.E.D. To all the teachers, keep up the good fight!

5K Qs 5K Qs It's there Gary. Delivered yesterday.
Thanks for the "heads up", Alan. Unfortunately, the USPS tracking only gets as far as my college mail room. :( It was delivered to the mail room yesterday morning, but because of budget cuts (and probably holiday skeleton staff), there's only one (early) delivery to my building each day, so I won't actually see it in my mailbox until Tuesday morning. What's that old Carly Simon song? "Anticipation is keeping me waiting" (or makin' me crazy or something).

- GT

I saw it was delivered to the mailroom Gary. And knowing how that can go with a 3 day weekend I figured it was safely tucked away in some dusty old room. Happy Labor Day.

Even carrying this radically (blade & body) modded 92 has given me the opportunity to appreciate its virtues.

Many thanks GT, I would have preferred to wait another week before the trip to Sheffield, but the gaffer was due to go away on holiday again, so there was no choice, Seize the day, seize the Lambsfoot! :D ;) I never tire of seeing that knife, always brings a smile to my face :)

Happy Sunday folks :) It's not Labor Weekend here, but I have plenty of toil! Hopefully not too hard! ;) :D These two newbies are helping me out :) Have a great day
