I have read about the pre 2009 Dave Shirley era Northwoods knives and wanted to check one out. They are pretty nice especially considering the relatively low cost. This muskrat is in Italian jigged bone. I would like to see the current brand owners make a more traditional Northwoods knife like this one every once in a while.

Maybe you’ve given details on this knife before, but for us memory challenged folks, please fill us in!
I’m really starting feel challenged with my memory myself. It’s a spear point ebony teardrop made by Brent Cramer. I got it from him quite a few years back.

Yowza, that is some absolutely stellar stag!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: GEC #66 Moose?
Thanks GT! You are correct sir, it’s the 66.

I've had this one with me today. Apparently, it is Schrade Saturday!

Nice one there!! Me liiiike.

I believe I am caught up now. If you blink, this thread has gained 10 pages.

That;s a pretty potent pair, right there, Gary. I recently obtained a lighter like the one shown, but doubt that I'll get a cigar like that so easily. Enjoy!

Thanks for the compliment Pàdruig Pàdruig ! That’s a handsom lambsfoot

Your usual outstanding photo of sumptuous knives, Dylan!:cool::thumbsup:

Thank you for the kind words! I look forward to your thoughts on the Buffalo Jack once you have had a chance to carry them and form an opinion. I like your objective views when you review a knife pattern.
Great carry choices today (including the HdM!)

Thank you very much Dylan, superb pairing there :)

My apologies, gentlemen, for the late response to your compliments. Thank you so much for the kind words. @Ratbert, I am hoping to do a more in depth review of the #44 when I have more than a few spare moments, thank you again for the compliments.

I'm taking tomorrow off, and heading over to the nearby West Yorkshire town of Huddersfield :) Hopefully visiting the local flea-market, and maybe getting a bit of a hike in :) I shall have these two with me (as well as a Vic Alox Electrician in my bag)

A terrific combo, Jack! I hope you are having a very pleasant day and that your back is giving you some respite.

My, my, that surely is a beauty.

These two were calling my name this morning! No wait!!! That was Pam yelling for me to get up so I could take her out for breakfast! :D

Fantastic choices today, Ron! My wife made homemade quiche for breakfast this morning, I am a happy man.

Terrific picture! I am going to show my wife, she does so love frogs... (NOT!!!!) :D

I have these two with me today.

Another fantastic pic of a splendid pair of knives, Tom.:thumbsup::thumbsup: Are you still using your light box, rain or shine?

Here are the knives that are almost always on my kitchen counter to help with food prep. They earned their way to those honored spots by being great slicers, and support @Misplaced Hillbilly's post since one is an Imperial and one a Colonial.

Thanks GT! Fantastic Kitchen Kutlery :). Yes I still use it, there is not really any good light at my place so I manufactured it :). It is probably just a crutch for my poor photography. Speaking of:

Thanks for the pictures of the lane behind your building, Jolipapa Jolipapa !:thumbsup::cool: We have some vines on the fence along the alley that runs along our yard, and this year, for reasons that I don't know, birds and human passersby ate almost none of our grapes. :)

...
Thank you :) The upper middle part is in fact full of sparrow nests, so you better choose a bit further ;) but this year we had plenty and very sweet though with a bit thick skin. Maybe chasselas.
Passers by can't reach the grapes, but birds took more than their share and still do! When I was painting the gate, a bunch of sparrows was yelling at me from good distance because they could not reach the nests. One day they realized I was not interested by the nests nor the grapes and they got quite bold and certainly took some pleasure looking at me working under the sun!
