Nice picture and knife. I had a bit of chuckle getting the picture of your neighbors' face watching you taking picture of your pants in underpants. :eek::D
 
Well, crap. Imgur is down.

I decided to carry my small Tommi-puukko. I recently stripped the shiny warnish off, then went on oiling and waxing it. I am quite pleased by the result, it is not as slippery as before but looks nice. I have it in my self made pocket sheath.

Here's the knife with the original sheath. I bought it to have something that reminds me of my eastern Finnish heritage and have something from one of the better makers here. These beautifull puukkos have a special place in my heart.

The edge on this Opinel #8 was burred to one side when I got it. For no particular reason I reground it to 15 degrees per side last night, honed it on ultra fine stones and stropped it on a leather belt. Curious as to how long the edge will hold.



It is supposed to rain all weekend, so I may try to mod the blade to a clip point while I am stuck inside.

Thank you, my friend. I had a bit of a laugh myself when I read your post. My back yard is fairly private but I am flanked by two neighbors who are both significantly older than I. I often wonder what they would think if they were to ever spot me on my back deck, staging knives for pictures with a cell phone. Perhaps they simply chalk it up to some young rascal and his darned cell phone. :D


I haven't carried my excellent Churchill in quite some time. Today, I am remedying that and it is accompanied by the ever present variety of Lambsfoot.
