What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It is a beautiful southern summer evening. It's a little late for us to start cooking, but I can't complain too much considering how nice it is on the back porch.

ETA: I just checked the weather station. It's incredible that 83*F with 80% humidity is a "beautiful southern summer evening". Is this what they call Stockholm Syndrome?

Binoculars. For Devil's Head Red, the ale named after the fire lookout tower on Devil's Head Mountain. But if you see handcuffs . . . OK!

LOL! Well, it is Friday, and that means Live PD is on...

Thanks! I like it quite a bit. This one had a tough break-in period. There was quite a bit of gunk, and some metal shavings that had to be flushed from the back spring. But now, it’s a workhorse.
That’s a handsome knife!:cool: Is that stacked leather in the middle?

I’ve got a 2016 Drover today.
What a great knife. My favorite Forum Knife that I missed out on.:(

Love that stag S&M gunstock stockman. Would that make it a gunstockman?
That's better than Gunman!

Well, you have the wrong knife there to call it Stockman Syndrome.

That's a good looking Gunstock, Will. A little more subtle than GEC's new one, though I like the looks of theirs, too. Speaking of, have you ordered your #44 Gunstock with brass bolsters, liners and shield yet? :D

Well that certainly is something, Dylan... :D :D

Carrying my Bocote Maserin Plow again today.

Thank you for that very thoughtful card there Barrett! Nice looking Plow! I put in a reservation for one of the new ones! :)

Today I’m Totin this one! :D My lovely wife had me buy this Norfolk for my birthday on the exchange over a month ago. She had it put up until this morning when she gave it to me along with a big ole birthday kiss! ;) Wow! I’m a blessed man!

Happy Birthday! That is a beautiful Norfolk. You are indeed a blessed man! :)

But, from what I see here in the Forum there are many people who repeat the knives much more than I do, I believe you have already verified this, but it is the life of those who like knives!!!
I'm sorry for this my tip. I'm not angry with you...;):thumbsup:

Very true and you should continue to do so. I repeat when I can't get a decent new picture. Your knives are always a fine display.

Sorry to confess it, but that version of the gunstock pattern is hard to beat. Yes, the GEC is OK and God bless them for continuing the pattern. DISCLOSURE: I'm not ordering either (yes the BB is hard to get), but y'all should for good support.

#51 today

OK, Steve, you are pushing the boundaries of decent discourse by throwing those absolutely beautiful old classics up for viewing and discussion without the benefit of a warnings as to how you are going to "change the game". In any event, I am simultaneously elated by your postings and deflated by your postings. I'm clearly adrift. (Nice knife, bud.)

YIKES. Congratulations that your efforts worked

LOL! Well, it is Friday, and that means Live PD is on...

Great show to watch if you need a boost. I was rained for a week in rented Chesapeake bay house waiting for a striped bass tournament to kick off (it didn't). That TV show saved us.

Thanks Gary! Some of the people here have meet Pam. Most agree that I married well above my pay grade! :D

You ain't kidding, brother! (Ain't we lucky?)

You constantly have this eerie feeling something’s wrong. Then, you unconsciously pat your pocket, feel nothing, and have that moment of panic thinking you’ve lost your knife.
I always pay the extra $30 to check a bag so I can take a handful of knives. The only time I worried about that was upon returning from Scotland, I found an official looking note inside my suitcase saying it had been inspected by TSA. They didn’t swipe any knives, but I hoped they had fun.

I found that when traveling by plane, if you wanna increase the chance that your knives arrive safe with you, use a TSA approved lock.

What happens is if you use any other lock the tsa will cut it off and then the baggage handlers can have a field day. All they need are zip ties and they can go through your bags at their leisure.

But if you use the tsa approved locks the tsa relocks it with your lock and the baggage handlers pick an easier target.

When I went to Hungary a while back my mother and I both brought knives, both packed in checked baggage the same way. The only difference was the locks. Hers weren’t tsa approved and mine were.

When we got to our destination airport in Budapest we checked our bags. Her knives were gone mine were fine. She found a tag attached by a tie wrap that said they cut her non approved lock off to inspect her baggage.

Ever since then I’ve used the tsa approved locks. They’re cheap enough and I’ve had consistent results with no loss of knife. ;)
