What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Your newest stag lambsfoot (and bench in background) sure is photogenic, Jack!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Looks like a pragmatic pair, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool: The Klein liner lock makes me think electrician's knife, but the swayback handle makes me conjecture that maybe it was a hawkbill pruner that got a new shape?

I'm enjoying your stag/something pairs this month, Alan!:cool::thumbsup: The ebony Churchill is fantastic, but the Case stag is the visual focus for me.

This arrived half hour ago, completely unexpected present from @oldtymer

Congrats on that iconic Eisenhower, Will, and bouquets to @oldtymer for his kind generosity!!!:cool::thumbsup: He sure knows his stag pen knives!

It is supposed to rain all weekend, so I may try to mod the blade to a clip point while I am stuck inside.
Cool!:cool: I look forward to hearing updates and seeing some whole knife shots of this Opinel you're tuning up, Tom.:)

That's a pretty piece, Stuart!:thumbsup::cool: I like the drop point blade, the curved handle, the oversized bolster, and the forward position of the lock release, and then the horn and file work add even more refinement! Do you know the source of the horn (buffalo, domestic cattle, ram)?

Utica Cattle Knife today

Splendid and useful Utica, Steve!:cool::cool:

Here's what I've had with me today. Maserin from Jack Black Jack Black , the 15 from @mrknife he modded to a clip point. This is an older photo but I always carry these two together I call them the Jack Pack. :D:D

Fine knives made even finer by the Jack Pack connection, Randy!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Really like the Gunstock pattern . This now makes 5 Gunstocks that I have . Will have to post a group photo someday .
Harry
Congrats on the new stag gunstock, Harry; you sure pick some wonderful stag for your knives (or you're the luckiest guy in the world if their all "dealer's choice" ;))!:thumbsup::cool: A quintet of gunstocks would be something to see! :)

5K Qs 5K Qs Thank you for the kind words. The Pacheco is 4 1/8" closed. In all honesty opened and in hand it feels no bigger than a 3 7/8" knife. It is a real joy to use. Tim builds a great knife!
Thanks for the additional info, Jason. :)

Thanks, GT! I’d be curious to see how many different countries you could find sodbusters from.
...Thanks for the compliments GT, 'Sodbusters From Around The World' sounds like an excellent plan, and you already have good special ones

Thanks, Barrett & Jack. :) So far I have only American and Spanish (and they have special connections for me, as Jack noted), but I've seen the Maserins from Italy and Hippekniep from Germany and I think I've heard of Dutch knives that are essentially sodbuster pattern. (I also have a MAM from Portugal that is certainly quite similar to a sodbuster, but not a "spitting image" of the classic Case pattern.) :) Cool pic of your ebony barking up the right trees, Jack!;)

Yes, in deed, it merited another carry (and was the closest wood covered knife at hand yesterday). I'm normally drawn to the toothpicks and that Imperial is nice, but the Office Knife is very nice.

Thanks for the support, Stuart. :)

Hello GT :) HCS stands for high carbon steel, with a titanium dark coating on the blade as well. I liked the first one so much I purchased a second one right away before they were sold out.
Thanks for the extra info, Dave. :) I think that must be RR's branding of a canoe that Colt made before they "went under". I have a Colt canoe with black G-10 covers and carbon steel blades coated in dark titanium, and I like it a lot!

Thanks GT! The left one is 3 3/8” old arch stamp Schrade sleeveboard pen. The other one is a 3 1/8” Utica Kutmaster equal end pen covered in faux mammoth which had pretty bad blade play when I first got it. I squeezed it with a C-clamp and now it has almost no play at all and she walks and talks with authority!
Thanks for jogging my feeble memory on those lovely knives, Nick! :)

Plus a few "Weird Little Stubby Things".

That's a peachy 26! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Today I’m Totin this one! :D My lovely wife had me buy this Norfolk for my birthday on the exchange over a month ago. She had it put up until this morning when she gave it to me along with a big ole birthday kiss! ;) Wow! I’m a blessed man!

Belated Happy Birthday, Ron, and congrats on the sensational damascus Norfolk!:cool::cool::thumbsup: The handle shape on those reminds me of a guy puffing out his chest, and you can proudly imitate your knife! ;):D

Another notable pair, Alan; the shields on those two really grab my attention!:cool::thumbsup:

Rondeau has developed quite a bit of character over the last 5 months of continual carry.

Commendable character for sure, Buzz!:thumbsup::thumbsup: It would be interesting to see a "new" and "now" comparison. :)

Today, I have this Böker jack in my pocket.

Tom, I'll go to my grave admiring that Black Box coffin Jack! ;):cool::thumbsup:

I'm carrying this Case SS Sowbelly with rough Olive Drab covers and I've been carrying it daily for some time. I don't know why but as "Plain Jane" as it is, I like it. It's kinda like the runt of the litter it's so ugly it's appealing. The edges of the covers on the spine side of the frame were sharp so I broke the edges with a file and it now sits in my hand nicely. As I don't do any heavy chores anymore, the knife looks pretty much now as it did the day I got it and took this picture. At 3 7/8" long and with the rounded bolsters it rides nicely in the pocket and the blades are heavy/strong enough to handle anything I run across anymore.

Thanks for the report, ED.:cool::thumbsup: I've got my eye on a Case canoe with the rough olive covers, discounted at an online dealer. ;)

Well, you know, as they say, "Only in Portland..." :D

Although the first pic is disturbing, Dylan, your twin ebonies make me ebullient!:cool::)

A very special carry for me today. Here I thought the Pioneer and a Peanut was a practically perfect pairing but, alas, I was wrong. A blue alox Farmer and a Peanut is even better! And what could be even better than that? The SAK was gifted to me by @r redden ! :D Out of the blue (get it? ...see my GAW) he contacted me and said he had noticed I commented on a blue alox SAK so decided to send me one. Randy, thank you!!! You are a generous and thoughtful person and I am glad to call you my friend. I know I'm not the only one around here who has been touched by your generosity.

I'm sorry, but I don't, GT. I was lucky to find any information of the maker. It's not ram, I can tell. the light color hints toward cattle, but ???

That Böker USA jack is jaw-dropping!!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Slender, curvy, and outstanding bone!:cool:

Thanks. I think that I may have a few more in the box that I just found. If so, I'll post them.

I sure enjoy seeing pictures of that Joker Horn Knife GT !!!
Thanks for the very kind words about my Stag Gunstock !! Of the New Stag knives that I have bought , there were 2 that I did not get to choose from others on and 1 that I had to let Mike at CK make my choice on . Obviously on a Used Knife the only choice is whether to buy it or not .

Aw that reminds me of my Camillus 21. One of my first mod projects that I bought dirt cheap because the pre-Delrin scales were crumbling off. I cut new scales out of beef bone which turned out fine, but I did not get the pivot pin tensioned right and it has no snap. I really need to get back to that one and get it right, it’s a sweet little guitar pick pocket knife.

You’re spot on about the Klein. I bought it specifically because what was once a hawkbill had been misshapened with a grinder. I wanted a sheepsfoot with that big curved handle.
Thanks !

Hey, Will! Thanks for the compliments, my friend! It was yours that sent me looking for one. Looked for years, literally. If not for Alan's help, generous nature and looking out for a friend, I would still be looking!
Mine is not serialized, is yours?
I prefer the drop point in most of my user knives so no surprise I like it as much as you in the 25. I have to think they will get back to it, eventually.

Thanks very much Mark:thumbsup: Yes it has a No. 19 my belief is that there were 25 serialised and 25 not. Have to check the Prod Figs . Means here are perhaps 48 out there still:D elusive though. Good to hear you got help from Alan on this. Insider information, tip off from friends and even the kindness of strangers are all vital in this pursuit:cool:

8 days of vacation and 3 of those without a knife. Ever meet the person who carry’s a pocket knife and they tell you that they rarely use it?

We’ll take that knife away for a few days and make sure they’re not allowed to use another knife.

If they’re a true Knife Knut they’ll be miserable, I know I was.

Now I’m back home and I’ve tossed all of my knives on the bed a just threw myself nak...

Never mind. ;). After much deliberation as I wait for my regular EDCs to arrive from vacation too I picked the JD Ellis Lanny’s Clip and the BFC’s Traditional Forum’s CSC Serpentine Shadow Jack. It’s good to be back home.

Two great looking knives, sir!
The book takes me back to college.

Seems to be the order of the day, a Forum Knife and a Lanny’s Clip. Nice Joe.
I noticed that as well!
I’ll reluctantly break that as I have neither.
I’ll slip this jack into my jeans as I head off to church.
It looks like we are entering my favorite time of year~ just beautiful weather. Have a great Sunday, everyone.View attachment 982137
