What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I've given up trying to focus on two knives at once, so,

This Western second had very thick and square-edged covers. Taking a file to them, I was surprised to smell rosewood, because the finish was so thick I thought they were glue-impregnated. I probably should have stained before sealing, but it isn't a mess, it's got character.

My only single-bladed Barlow. I finally started carrying it, and it's going to be hard to stop.

Ouch.
What is it, 21 years since our perfect year?
Also there's no such thing as a UoM knife. Search for U of M knife and you get weapons policies. There's one sleeveboard pen on e-bay.

Thanks Mr. GT, I put the same knives several times because in reality they are the ones that I actually walk with me in my pocket.
...
But, from what I see here in the Forum there are many people who repeat the knives much more than I do, I believe you have already verified this, but it is the life of those who like knives!!!
I'm sorry for this my tip. I'm not angry with you...;):thumbsup::thumbsup:
One more repetition (but it has to be), today in my pocket the most beautiful and old Portuguese knife in my collection!!!

Senor Pinto, I didn't intend to offend you when I said I enjoyed seeing your fantastic TC again. As you point out, everyone here posts photos of their knives repeatedly (and some that I admire most are the people who stay with the same 1 or 2 knives for long periods). Usually, the more often I see a knife, the better I like it. :thumbsup:;)

... The only time I worried about that was upon returning from Scotland, I found an official looking note inside my suitcase saying it had been inspected by TSA. ...
I had a similar note in my luggage when I returned from visiting my daughter in Spain almost 4 years ago. The bag contained 10 knives, I think, 7 of which were Spanish souvenirs. They were all still there, but the zipper on the suitcase was broken from TSA's ham-handed attempt at inspection! :(:mad:

Very creative, Barrett!! :thumbsup::D:D

Wife and I got back from a mini-vacation a little bit ago. ...

Glad to see you back, Dean; I hope it was a memorable time away! :cool::thumbsup::cool: Your Ancient looks like it enjoyed the trip! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Your stag gunstock stockman is a distinctive and desirable knife, Jeff! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

It's incredible that 83*F with 80% humidity is a "beautiful southern summer evening". Is this what they call Stockholm Syndrome?
:D:D:thumbsup: Sounds like a nice evening to me, Shawn!

That whittler must put a grin on your face, Ken! :thumbsup::cool::D

Y:eek:WZA! Amazing photo of 2 delectable knives, Alan!! :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:

Iconic jack knife, Steve! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

I'm mixing things up with a modified Opinel and a J.Nowill sleeveboard pen. (a gift from Jack Black Jack Black )

Good to see those astounding Opinel mods again, Rachel!! And that sleeveboard from Jack is a proper pen knife! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Dang, Dwight, that's a dandy!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I'm finally staggering into Stagurday with an relatively rare (to me) totin' companion: a small (3.25") folder by the late J. M. "Mickey" Maddox of Ringgold, GA, a protégé of Ron Little. I think the knife is from the 1980's. I like the dove-tailed bolster/cover joint.

I'll tote this 25 drop point today for Stag Saturday! Enjoy your weekend everyone!

That's world-class, Mark!! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup: Stunning stag, divine drop point, striking stamped big bolster - tremendous 25!

Today’s carry.
Stylish stag on both 25 and 26, Ken! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: How's the book? The only book I've read by that author (with the order of last names switched, I think?) is Wild Animals I Have Known. I enjoyed it when I was a kid, but didn't realize there was controversy about its veracity!

Cold and windy, rainy day. I am mostly staying inside with this Remington bullet knife in my pocket.

That's a handsome jack, Tom; is it new to you?? :cool::cool::thumbsup:

I'm sorry, but I don't, GT. I was lucky to find any information of the maker. It's not ram, I can tell. the light color hints toward cattle, but ???

Thanks. I think that I may have a few more in the box that I just found. If so, I'll post them.

Yep, that's the ticket!!

Thanks, Stuart. :) My Joker is cow horn, and, like you, I'd guess the same for that sweet lockback you posted.

I sure enjoy seeing pictures of that Joker Horn Knife GT !!!
Thanks for the very kind words about my Stag Gunstock !! Of the New Stag knives that I have bought , there were 2 that I did not get to choose from others on and 1 that I had to let Mike at CK make my choice on . Obviously on a Used Knife the only choice is whether to buy it or not .

Harry
Thanks, Harry. :) And thanks for the extra info about getting your stag knives. :cool::thumbsup:

Aw that reminds me of my Camillus 21. One of my first mod projects that I bought dirt cheap because the pre-Delrin scales were crumbling off. I cut new scales out of beef bone which turned out fine, but I did not get the pivot pin tensioned right and it has no snap. I really need to get back to that one and get it right, it’s a sweet little guitar pick pocket knife.

You’re spot on about the Klein. I bought it specifically because what was once a hawkbill had been misshapened with a grinder. I wanted a sheepsfoot with that big curved handle.
Thanks !
Thanks for the confirmation on the Klein, Jeff, and I look forward to seeing your Camillus peanut when you get a chance to fix it up! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Grand gunstock with the checkered bone, @TheFactor ! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks for the compliments my friend, those two pics were taken less than 100 yards from each other :) That's a great-looking pair of knives there GT, lovely character in that old Camillus, and your Joker is always a treat to see :) :thumbsup:

Happy Sunday folks, hope everyone is having a smashing weekend :) I'm not planning to go too far from home today, but I have these two trousered :) :thumbsup:

Thanks for the knife nods, Jack. :) As always, I appreciate the ebony/ivory pair. :cool::thumbsup::cool: (And I'm always amused by the phrase "I have these knives trousered" which I don't think I've seen from anyone but you! :cool::D:thumbsup:)

That's an impressive knife, Leslie, and I love the beaver shield! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: But what model is that? Are those bone covers??

...
I’ll slip this jack into my jeans as I head off to church.

Good wood, Jeff! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

First Sunday of football season... Go Hawks!

The natural micarta reminded me of a pig skin...
You have a BAD case of Football Fever, John!! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

My Lambsfoot of the Week is a rosewood Union Jack:

This week I have TWO Free Choice knives. One is this mini trapper that's a by-product of black mamba black mamba 's Beer Belly Stockman project (thanks, Jeff):
modMT.mark.2open.jpg

The other is a Case rough black canoe (thanks, Alan), that came in this week after I had done my weekly rotation and stored away my knives, so I had no choice but to carry it all week :rolleyes::

Will be carrying this one today as we start packing to go on a trip to Glacier and Yellowstone .

Will try to see some of our old friends on the way .

Harry

I hope the fire in GNP doesn’t impede your travels, Harry. I think I read that they have re-opened Going To The Sun Road.
I hope you can regale us with photos of pretty knives on stunning backgrounds.

Safe travels, my friend.
