What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I have another old fella hanging with me today and I'm kinda taking to him. He has more walk and talk in him that many of my younger companions, and he snaps like an alligator. A Schatt & Morgan Cutlery Co. (Titusville, P.A.) equal end jack from 1903-1932.

Wow! Just a handsome knife all around...love that jigging!

I had a '64, and I'm an admirer of the old Beatles, too! I got to drive a Corvair once that belonged to my uncle. He was always trading cars and even had a Renault Dauphin for a while. I think the most interesting feature of that car was the horn switch. It had two modes: "city horn" and "country horn".
The one thing I love about the old cars was, they were made of heavy gauge metal. You could park them anywhere and not worry about getting a door ding. :D

Finally I have some time to get this accomplished . Very slow internet here . Left Great Falls , Montana and went into the East side of Glacier National Park as far as Logan's Pass . Then back out and around the South end of the park because the through highway in the park was closed due to the Forrest Fire . Finally got to West Glacier and could not get to our resort because the railroad crossing was closed and had a 30 mile detour around that .
Carrying these 2 today : Old Pics of knives .

Went into the Blackfeet Indian Nation area .

Shortly before getting to the park on Hwy .89

Just inside the park on The Road To The Sun

The next 3 were all taken at Logan's Pass

They are projecting that All Glaciers will be gone in 2020

We have been to Glacier one other time and to Yellowstone 4 times and never had we seen a Grizzly in the wild . That all change today at Logan's Pass .
The pic of the day :

Harry
Stunning pics Harry!

Beautiful photos of beautiful country Harry. You're right about the grizzly. That's a good distance to see them at. Close enough to see, far enough to be safe.
Inconsequential knife photo after that.

When that Stag starts ageing from carry, it's going to look like a knife for the gods

I wish ageing treated me like that :D:D

First toting of my latest project, since I finished her up last night. I won a bid on this Camco Scout for less than the very reasonable shipping charge. I had intended to caniballize the awl blade to put in a TL-29 to make a harness jack, but when I got it I liked it too much. Carried some, but never sharpened, and strong smooth snaps. The awl blade was cocked over toward the main causing jamming and blade rub, so it needed to be tweaked a bit, and the ugly plastic handles had shrunk.
Here it is broken down.View attachment 984971This is how the mart of wal sells buffalo horn dog chews...they are zip tied to a piece of cardboard with the label and bar code.View attachment 984967Cutting scales...View attachment 984968And after getting her all back together and sanded to 2000 grit, I have a new love.:DView attachment 984969View attachment 984970

Beautiful result!:thumbsup::cool: Thanks for sharing.

Have a Happy Saturday... Boldly Go...
You nerd! I love it! :D
