What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Carried these 2 today . 77 Barlow in Desert Ironwood and 43 in Stag . Old photos .

Drove from West Glacier , Montana to Butte , Montana today . Tomorrow we will drive to West Yellowstone , Montana . Pretty dull day with starting out in a little rain . A lot of beautiful country but not scenic like the mountains .

Harry

Love that Desert Ironwood 77!!
I appreciate you sharing pics and stories, Harry. I grew up 30 miles from West Glacier,(Kalispell) on the banks of the Flathead river. Many Cutthroat trout were caught and eaten right there by the fire. Many trips to the Blackfoot nation to ice fish every winter. Your pics bring back a lot of memories, thank you.
Everyone gets a chuckle when I tell them I graduated from Flathead High school.:)

I'll be carrying my 25 today.

Case Barlow today

Thanks for brightening my day, Steve.

Two one of a kind for me. My only red stag and my only knife ftom Charlie.

Both very nice, Alan, especially that lovely leg.

Carried the Sodbuster yesterday and used it to rough out the shape on this Opinel 8 that I finally got around to mod'ing.

Like you, FBC, I'm using a couple of knives on a chore today; unlike yours, mine are more mundane. Good luck on the Opinel mod.

Case Wharncliffe Mini Trapper in Antique Jig Bone, from 2000 I believe.

While I have mostly older Case knives, I really like their more recent iterations. That's a handsome knife, John, and it looks pretty practical.

Thanks Stuart. The Mini Trapper is far and away my most favorite Case pattern.
I keep looking for older Case knives that strike my fancy, sure would like to have some, but nothing has tugged at me yet.

Thanks Stuart. Something about the Lady Legs. They may not be a practical carry but they work real well sitting on my desk. I always have one of my brass Nehi's open and ready for whatever knife box needs opening.

North Carolina has sent us what's left of her rain, so I'm inside for the day (watching the grass get taller and taller). I have to replace a valve cartridge in the water control for our master bathroom shower and these two have already helped remove the silicone caulk around the escutcheon and stop tube and the Phillips head screws on the escutcheon and the handle adapter. Well, that was the easy part; I see frustration. anger, and sadness looming in this project. I should be finished around beer-thirty this afternoon.

This one needed some attention.

Beautiful photo. Does attention = patina? ;)
Thanks for letting me sit on the porch and ramble a bit.:)
Ramble on, that's what porches are for! :)

I've been following the new production of GEC #14 Boy's Knives, fretting if I'll be able to snag one of the clip/pen models. Oh well, even if I miss out, I've got this cool old Boker USA. :D 3 1/8", 35 years old, I think.
