Well last week was Rough Rider week, and what a rough ride it was! So this week I'm hanging out with the Old Timers, they may be a bunch of old timers, but they're hard working and dependable.

My 70th, this next Friday, was the loving cause for my three adult children, spouses, and five grandchildren to take my wife and I out to an early celebration. When my special dessert was served, a decadent and delicious warm fudge pie, with chocolate sauce and ice cream, the first thing I thought of was...Knife Image. I’ll say 2 things. No Knife was hurt in the making of this image, and...”there’s no fool like an old fool.”:)

Is that backdrop a remnant of Florence? Glad that you seemed to have made it through the wind and rain, now the flooding.

I'm not a proponent of culinary chores with folders, but your picture made me think again about that. You have outdone yourself and your always excellent pictures with that fabulous photo. Kudos and thanks. Oh, and Happy Birthday with wishes for many more happy ones.

What a wonderful photo :D :) Hope you have a fab 70th my friend :)

I have been toting this SW 856 for the last couple weeks straight now, normally I carry it a little then switch off. It's in my front left pocket next to a bandana so it stays upright. That spot doesn't interfere with my usual back pocket carry space so I think it shall become a semi permanent carry knife. This pattern and it's relatives are very practical and a handy size that fills all the needs of a pocket knife, plus I really like the pattern, so I may as well have it on me most of the time.

Thank you all.

@ Duckdog
Yes it is, that's part of my landlords Bradford pear, its an 8 foot tall stump now. But it'll come back, we was talking about 2 weeks ago it had gotten to big and when the sap ran down we was going to cut it back to about where the limbs broke off anyways.

This little Camillus rope knife again. Solid little tank that can handle any task. It’s a breeze to get it razor sharp.
That's a cool rope knife, Nick! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Very slow day today due to the forest fire in Glacier Park .
We stayed at The Great Bear Inn . Very nice place ....
Time to choose something to carry this morning .

Harry
Thanks again for the great photos from your travels, Harry!:cool::thumbsup: I was surprised to see how many fine folders you took with you on the trip!!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Hope everyone is having a good weekend :) I have a very busy week coming up, and it's started early  Thought I'd slip something different in my pocket today, alongside my ebony 2018 Guardians Lambsfoot ;) Have a lovely Sunday folks

Couple of ideal knives, Jack, and an intriguing deck of cards!:cool::thumbsup:

Simple Sunday carry...
Cool yellow delrin model, John!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Are all your mini trappers the single wharncliffe version?

Dazzling and distinctive duo, Rachel!:cool::cool:

This one again. Seems to be stuck in my pocket...my 35's aren't happy about it..
That's a desirable congress pattern! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

I’m not carrying any knives now. I got creative and decided to carve out an arch. But in doing so I wore out all three blades on the Case and the only thing left of the Vic Tinker is the toothpick. In comparison I’d say the Victorinox did hold up a bit longer though....:D

:D:D I think you've been on the road too long, @315!

It's surprising what you find around the house after a boisterous Saturday night, like a pair of . . . er, deceptively styled caplifters by Valley Forge Cutlery Co. (Boker USA) from 1916-1950.

2-bladed lady legs are sweet, Stuart!:thumbsup::cool: For some reason, the lady leg pattern doesn't get a lot of respect on The Porch, in my experience. :(

On Friday, Eleanor and I met @herder for lunch. It was great to meet a fellow BF member and get to spend some time talking knives in person.

I've got this one in my pocket today.

Meeting up with another BF member sounds like an enviable experience, Barrett!:) I also envy your Camillus classic! ;):thumbsup:

Thanks 5K Qs 5K Qs !

I’m always glad to be a stimulant for fond memories. Lord knows I’ve stimulated plenty of bad ones for folks!
;):D

GT, sure could have used that multiplication knife back in the 6 grade :thumbsup:Myself and a fair few others had to stay after school until we got it right. :p
:D:thumbsup: Those were the days, eh Dave? ;)

Thank you, Gary! Good to see you are still carrying your multiplication tables. :) Seriously, a fine trio of knives today.
Thanks, Dean. :)

These two today for me and my boys birthday present. A track ride in a 458 italia for him. And i got to drive it!

Gotta be major Dad points for that birthday gift! ;):thumbsup:

5K Qs 5K Qs ~ I appreciate the kind words!
And speaking of appreciation, I think a good dog is one of God’s greatest blessings. In my life I’ve had three German Shepherd Dogs, two Brittany Spaniels, and a Boston Terrier, all AKC pure breds, all wonderful dogs. But about a year before our son passed, he brought this guy, just a 5 wk old mutt pup home. And this is THE smartest, the most devoted, and most loving dog I’ve ever had. All he wants to do is be with me. Working outside, he’s at my side. Mowing, trotting alongside, practicing guitar or sitting on my butt liking knife pictures on BF, he’s laying at my feet.

Now maybe I’m just emotional because today in church I did the song we did at the funeral - hard to get through- but with this dog around, I feel connected to my boy.

Here he is guarding the beans I picked for supper...

And because this is about knives, here’s my Camco helping me cut and de-string the beans...

Thanks for letting me sit on the porch and ramble a bit.:)
Great post, Jeff.:thumbsup: You ramble on whenever the spirit moves you, sir! ;)

Yes, it is a #48 pattern. It's actually my son's knife, but I reserved the right to Tote it whenever I want when I gave it to him :) It's a neat knife and the #48 is a great pattern.
Thanks for the confirmation and extra info, John!:)

Thanks, GT. 5 inches is the diameter of that coaster. Liking the peanut!!
...
Thanks for the measurement, Stuart. :)

Carried these 2 today . 77 Barlow in Desert Ironwood and 43 in Stag . Old photos .

Drove from West Glacier , Montana to Butte , Montana today . Tomorrow we will drive to West Yellowstone , Montana . Pretty dull day with starting out in a little rain . A lot of beautiful country but not scenic like the mountains .

Harry
Great choice of "two for the road" knives, Harry!:cool::thumbsup:

Once again, Small Gunstock
