What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Like the handsome Old Timer posted by Ron ( Half/Stop Half/Stop ), I'm hoping this Belknap Hardware John Primble 4953 will brighten my rainy Monday. If it and Ron's knife don't do the job, I can gaze at the pic posted by Tom ( Whetstone39 Whetstone39 ).

Steve, that is a beautiful and honest old worker. You keep the bar high(er) with your gorgeous posts.

A @glennbad creation I was fortunate enough to win on Glenn's 110 GAW. Thank you so very much Glenn!!!View attachment 991643 View attachment 991647

Dwight, stop it! Just stop it! Posts of fabulous concoctions such as that chill the posting of the more pedestrian offerings that I and others on the Porch may want to make. And if you still need to post knives such as that, please put in a warning to the viewer. Seriously, a wonderful looking 110 is one thing, an other worldly 110 is another. Congratulations on your win (using "win" in its broadest sense) and kudos to @glennbad for some outstanding work.

Was carrying these 2 today as we drove home from Fort Dodge , Iowa . Another 350 + mile day after the side trips . Then mowed half of the yard . On the drive from Maduro , South Dakota to Fort , Dodge we stopped at Mitchell , South Dakota to see the latest decoration of the Corn Palace . A guy in a shop said that they were working on the decoration of the building for next year. He also said that there is , or will be , a brand new ship U.S.S. South Dakota . 30 Years ago we stopped there and it was much more colorful inside and out . We did not go inside this year but 3 years ago , there was no decoration inside . I really like this decoration though . Every thing is done with natural material .

Stuart I apologize. Being the rank amateur that I am I recklessly posted without considering the demoralizing effect in might have on others. That’s what happens when you win the lottery and are totally unprepared for the responsibility that comes with it. I will try to use a little restraint in the future or at least, as you say, post a warning.
Thank you my eloquent friend. :D

I love those chestnut bone sodbusters. I’ve wanted one for awhile, and you’re wearing down my willpower...
...
Just a "word to the wise": based on my experience, one chestnut bone knife is not enough! I think I'm up to 6 chestnut jigged bone CV patterns from Case at this point.

CONGRATS Gary!!! enjoy retirement:thumbsup::cool:
Congratulations Gary! I hope you enjoy your retirement my friend! :)
5K Qs 5K Qs Congrats GT, must be nice! Enjoy:thumbsup:

CONGRATULATIONS, and welcome to your 'nother life. That retirement Alox SAK is very special. I've been retired since April 1, 2011 (yes, I picked that day) and haven't had time to look back much. I'm busier than ever, though in a "more better" way. Enjoy it all, GT.

Thanks for all the kind words, folks. :) I really appreciate it.
(I'm still teaching one class each semester this year as a "hired gun", but no longer a full member of the faculty with the attendant responsibilities and benefits.)

Chances are looking very good. I'm proud of your Lions.
I don't stay up to watch Sunday/Monday/Thursday night football, so the result of the game was quite a pleasant surprise to me Monday morning!:D:thumbsup::cool:

Small knife today, but it's snappy :D

What a keepsake, Ron!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I enjoyed your story about the knife in the "special knife" GAW thread.

I think this is my last day of carrying two traditionals with at least one stag this month. I may have duplicated one or two but I think this is the last of them. It wasn't a hard theme because that's my usual routine.
