What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I never carry this GEC Bird & Trout because I find the factory sheath to be horrendous, but I found a sheath in my pile o' sheaths that fits it well enough. So, I decided to have it tag along for the day. The thinness of the knife and sheath allow for a very comfortable pocket carry. Love the acorn shield, tortoise shell acrylic, and the patina.

This sodbuster junior arrived yesterday. I’ll admit that at first I found the black blade hideous, it looked much more grey in the pictures online. But it is growing on me now. I really like the bone scales, and it feels heavier than the plastic version. The edge is really rough, but I’ll fix that this weekend. Happy Friday!

It's almost October and high temperatures won't get above mid 80s this weekend. Fall is in the air! :D

Those two look lovely together Rachel :) It can't be much below that here today!

To reference the title of an old Pink Floyd double album LP...
A NICE PAIR!:D

Don’t forget your sweater if you venture out in that crisp mid-eighties degrees fall weather!

I used to have that! :D Interesting Black Friday knives my friend

Very nice :)

Thank you, that's a nice pair you've got there, too.
And yes, with early morning lows in the 60s, it's almost time for long sleeves. I've seen folks around here wearing parkas when Northerners might call it sweater weather. The long hot summers thin the blood. ;)

T-shirt weather here! :D

I should have known that, since I am a old Norse myself. ;) :D.
Nice pair of ebony totes ya got there.

LOL! :D Still in daily use in its original form in Yorkshire, and near Sheffield, there is a hill, Mam Tor - Mother Mountain  Thanks a lot pal :)

Lovely Stuart

Thanks, Jack, and your nicely framed knives are on the money.

Man, that's nice!!

Thanks Jack, so do I! :) These two for me today. :)

You have a pair of classics with you, Ron, and mighty nice looking ones at that.

A lovely pair, r8shell. I was taught to respect my elders, so my middle-age Böker trapper gives a nod to your handsome older stockman. (The Wright is alright, too.)

Good looking pair, Jeff. I let the tradition slip in my carry selection, but I'll post this in solidarity with you:

You brightened my day, Steve. Thanks.

You could be correct on the tag theory, Alan, though there is a similar "ghost" image at the bolster, so maybe there's a pattern. Regardless, both are beauties and well portrayed.

What a pleasant picture to see. It honors the knife and rewards the viewer. Well done!

That is a fine looking knife, Shawn, as the patina complements the tortoise shell handle. I might be a bit leery using such a smooth handled (and guard-less) knife cleaning fish or fowl, but I sure as heck would carry it proudly.

Boy, I hadn't seen that version of the SBJr, Tom. That's pretty sweet. Thanks for showing it.

That patina looks great on your lambsfoot. I like how there is a little spark of orange at the tip, almost like a flame to match the orange on the covers.
Thank you, I didn't notice that. The stag reminds me of when folks used to burn Autumn leaves.

Having a heat wave? ;)

I was wondering where that sentence was going at first...:D

I took mine with me the other day on a fishing trip...have to agree about the sheath. I need to find something better as well. Your patina is coming along nicely :)

Love the Buster. Very cool jigging.

Yikes! I keep hearing the F word this morning. Frost advisory.
Then, back to 80’s Monday.
