Dean, what do you think of the Sway Back vs the Tear Drop? I have the exact Tear Drop as you and like it. I've been looking at the SB and wondered if it's just too small?![]()
Thanks, Dean, before retirement if I saw something I liked I bought it.Dave, it is smaller by a 1/2 inch and it feels it. It has heft for its size though which means it has a solid feeling in hand. I would have a hard time choosing between them if I could only have one.
It's a beauty GT
Oh ya, love the trout knife!!!
Love the horn on the lambsfoot! That duo looks like just the ticket for your plans, Jack!
Looks like a venerable relic, and old friend, Senhor Pinto!
We humans tend to fall victim to "the grass is always greener ..." syndrome, Will! You're working and wish you could retire now, and I'm retired (at least partially), but had planned to work for at least 4-5 more years.
Fantastic timber twosome, @r8shell !
Thanks, Senhor Pinto.
If I carried an opulent pair like that to have a car serviced, I'd worry that they'd stick me with excessive rates reserved for the rich and famous!!
Unique and attractive stag on your gunstock!
Thanks, Tom.Looking forward to your SBJr reactions/impressions.
That's a revered pair of Remingtons!!Even the rocks look especially good today!
Unusual, and unusually handsome, pattern, Stuart!Looks like some kind of hybrid between a Barlow and a saddle horn, maybe.
Fantastic drop point blade, IMHO! I hope you enjoyed the sunshine.
Lovely ligneous Laguiole, Gary!
I rarely face THAT accusation, Jack! Thanks for the kind description of my knives.
Thanks for the high praise for my Case 6347, Dean & Stuart.I didn't really want that knife, but
The Fort had it as a package deal with a red bone single-spring canoe that I couldn't pass up; I'm now glad he talked me into it!
Beautiful pair, Dean, but let's not rush the fall colors!
I KNOW what comes right after fall!
Awesome pair of knives for both reasons you cited, Jeff; thanks for sharing the story!Impressive pics of the storm front!
Denim micarta gets me every time!I have to see if I can find it on an "economy knife" of the type that characterizes my collection.
Well, I sure appreciate your efforts, Ken!
Not really sure how long it takes me to make one of my "totin' today" posts. With the traffic volume in this thread, I've recently tried to limit my "quotes per page" to 2 or 3 (plus any posts that include a direct address to me), so making those choices takes some time; I usually scan through all the posts on each page in a first pass, and then go back to choose my 2 or 3 "favorites" (for whatever reason). Then I insert the multi-quotes into a reply, do some re-ordering sometimes to bring similar posts together, and type up my comments (and finally put in some of my carries for the week). This last stage is usually about 30 minutes, but the choosing stage is often spread out 5 minutes here, 10 minutes there throughout the day. Maybe an hour of fine entertainment/relaxation each day on average??
Thanks for the appreciation, Nick, but I think you'll need to "manage your expectations" about the quality of my contributions going forward!!
Double stag alert!!!
Another irresistible pair, Hugh!(Even if your dog doesn't seem to share my opinion.
)
Congrats on your successful search for that stunning model, Leslie!I think almost any red stag knife is a major prize. Doesn't @black mamba have one very similar to yours?
My Stag/Horn Knife of the Week is this GEC buffalo horn 85 (thanks, Paul), but my Lambsfoot of the Week is also horn (thanks, Jack):

Wow, what a work of art!Today with one more Portuguese, this is from the region of the West, made entirely in stainless steel and with a scrimshaw (engraving) in low relief by the craftsman Paulo Correia, it is a Trout and plants.
As you can see from the photos, it is a cutlery from 2010 (Lombo do Ferreiro)!
It is a small knife with length the 3 1/4" (8 cm).![]()

I can never do that, at least if I’m driving, thanks to the Wenger Esquire on my keys.Much to my humiliation, I walked out of the house today with nary a pocket knife! I’ll have to live vicariously though you guys.
Very nice work!I think this is my best mod... I really fought with it for a while getting the backsprings flush. I hardly ever carry it because of the bad association, but it actually came out nice. Been trying to downsize on knives and work my way up to (down to) leaving the house with a Vic Rambler...

Good call. Forgetting a knife at home presents the perfect opportunity to buy another one.I recently did the same, realized a few miles from home at the local gas station/diner/hardware/store. Bought a small Taylor Schrade Old Timer while I was there. Just couldn't go through a day knifeless![]()
Case teardrop (don't worry, I tasted the mushroom - not poison) (the previous statement was a lie).
Yowza Stuart![]()
Rigid #RG71 large stockman
Yep, I like resurrecting old Swinden Key Schrades. It's been too hot in the garage to work on knives and my cnc machines been sitting idle, looking forward to firing it back up
I may forget one on purpose. "Well, Honey, I HAD to buy it...."Good call. Forgetting a knife at home presents the perfect opportunity to buy another one.
