I think you'll like it!Thanks for the info, Gary. I really like the unique style , it looks like I am going to need to pick one up and give it a go.
Thanks for the kind word, but I don't name the vast majority of my knives; it's only a little game I have for my lambsfoots!View attachment 998145
Sorry for the poor photo. Black micarta 15 and Lannier today.
5K Qs Should I give the Lannier a name? Your names are always good. What about "Holy Toledo"?
Thanks, John. That is a very handsome canoe, GT, I like the Autumn color theme.

That explains it well enough for me, Nick....
Sorry GT I can’t explain why either but my pics are now the blue boxes you see. I use photobucket to post pics and all I know is that the site has been down since yesterday evening.![]()

Thanks for the positive reactions to my S&M, Nick & Stuart & Jeff....
Gary, the S&M is more than miscellaneous! More like spectacular.
And thanks once again for your kind comments about my users!![]()
Presidential, Ken? Those sure look like they'd be amazing knives!
I'm happy with the switch from belt to braces, although belts are easier to put on for me....
Thank you for the info my friend, and for the complimentI might give them a try - though I think mine might have to stretch a good deal more than your own!

Thanks, Senhor Pinto!Excellent english knife, I really like...![]()
Tractor Supply's Schmidt brand canvas carpenter pants, every bit as good as carhart imo, and quite a bit less expensive. All pockets are pretty generous. I like their denim jeans as well, generous watch pocket as well, good for multiple knivesFrom the looks of that "watch pocket" you could get Big Ben in there!![]()
Yes, we do share the same tastes and what’s not to like about single spring penknives especially the old ones. I mined this one off the bay, the search is half the fun in collecting I guess.Oooohhhh! Shadow now
I share your tastes, but not unfortunately, your access to the mine of old choice penknives..![]()
If we were logical about it, we'd just pick one knife and use it every day. Where's the fun in that? It's weird how we make decisions on our carry patterns. I'll carry a custom but not a $25 Case because its special to me or search for a particular knife to carry and then only carry it but never use it.
That's not a safe queen, that's a spare. These jigged chestnut bone CV SBJs make us do strange things.Earlier this year I was fortunate enough to find one (a 2009) and knowing how prized they are I bought it. It's a great knife and, in fact, it's in my pocket now. But... a while after that I found another 2009 in another store. Despite my insisting that I only buy knives to carry, I bought that one also, put a thin coat of mineral oil on the blades, and put it back in the box as a "backup" SBJ.
So far it's my only "safe queen".

Thanks! I haven't handled the single blade version, but I figured it would be rather thin, especially on such a small knife. On the other hand, the new GEC #14s seem popular. (I'm waiting for the two bladers to come out)Those are both great knives! Your 130+ year old MOP is fantastic!
I just got an SBJ in chestnut, but I guess they don't make those two bladed anymore. I'll bet it is more substantial in hand.![]()
Yes, it is GT, they are pretty nice looking little fellas. The only drawback is because of the clawed texture of the scales, if the pin is placed on the ridge it is standing proud.Sweet, Dave! That's one of the buffalo horn, copper-bolstered RRs, right? Copper Ridge series?
Hope that's not blood!I’ve learned(the hard way)to watch my fingers with this one
