Today i carry my Queen #9 stockman. I usually carry my case Scout jr but I sharpened the stockman yesterday and the D2 got sharp in a way i couldn,t resist.

I got a little tickled about carrying a different knife than usual yesterday so today I use another old friend i got 25 years ago. Its a PUMA Prospector.

US Classic moose....
I am flying in a month or two, and the thought of loosing the $$$ hunter to baggage theft is unthinkable... So I am going back to Moose, and getting used to that style in carry, to be sure I can 'do all' with it for the two weeks I will be away from the options in the collection..

Gary,

I see this as an opportunity to justify a new knife purchase. Locate a knife shop at or near your destination, buy a new one, use it for those two weeks and then mail it back to yourself just before you leave. All I'm saying is that it's just another option. ;)

Today I picked these.

Got my Amherst trapper with me now.

I'm just getting back into slipjoints after going through a number of tactical-looking blades, a couple switchblades and some cheap and expensive fixed blades. It took a while and I'm glad that I got a few out of my system, but I'm loving the look of a well-used slipjoint.

I've got a GEC 73 in the mail but in the meantime I'm carrying around the first knife I ever got, a Case 35 1/2. My uncle took me out for my 10th or 11th birthday and asked me what I wanted for a present. I told him that I wanted a pocketknife so we went to the local hardware store (when they were those glorious places of old), had the case opened up and spent about a half hour checking out all different sizes and models. I'm still proud of the choice I made and I carried it everywhere for years (if only my teachers knew!!) learned to sharpen it by trial and error and put a lot of honest use into it. I'll snap a pic later, but for now I think I'll put a drop of oil on the pivots and admire that little fella.

I'll pull one out of the box here and there, and like before I ended up with the usual copperlock residing in my pocket most of the time. It's like that now with this trapper. It's like my Wave, I can't be without it.

Started out with a Case serpentine jack (pattern #087) for work and switched to a Colonel Coon Barlow when I got home.
