What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The two folders...

The Bucks are great, but what's the lowdown on that bowie!?

This Case Carhartt medium punch stockman in G10 and Tru Sharp
...
That's an A-1 stockman, Frank! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Nice. Is that an actual model or a mod?
Ahhh... Did some searching. It's an Electrician. Now that's a SAK I can see myself carrying. Those are all tools I'd use and nothing I wouldn't use.
I'm a huge fan of the Electrician, too!:thumbsup: I call it an Alox cattle knife. My only complaint (which many think is a strength ) is I miss the keyring attachment.

... We got a bit this morning, but most of it's already gone. (I've been carrying my Natural Canvas Micarta Bull Nose this week.)
...
Despite the weird face she's making in this picture, Eleanor was pretty excited about the snow.
...
Timely knife :thumbsup::cool:, but that snow is WAY too early :thumbsdown:, Barrett! I wish I could emulate E's adorable attitude. ;)

Carry for Sunday football.
Admirable color combo for a Bengals fan (or a Detroit Tigers fan ;)), Ken!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Love the ebony Churchill, which reminds me that he once said, "If you are going through hell, keep going."

...I'm starting the week off with these two, my AC Lambsfoot and an IXL Sleeveboard...
Jack & Dwight, each of you has an advantageous pair made up of old timer (Dwight literally so ;)) and newcomer (chosen by Ashley in each case)!:cool::cool:

Here come some folks kicking off the week with auspicious pairs!!:cool::cool::thumbsup:
I’m starting the week with these two in my pocket! :)
...
Love the au natural covers, Ron! ;):thumbsup:
Swaybacks in the rain...
...
Two wet knives in a pick-up bed??:thumbsup::thumbsup:
These two for me today.
That's fast becoming one of my favorite pairs from you, Tom!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Today's carry: my blood red TC Barlow and Case mini copperhead.

TC must mean Tremendous Combo, Dean! ;):thumbsup:
Alan, the fade-to-white "framing" of the photo suggests something dreamlike to me, and that pair is certainly what knife dreams are made of!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

...It finally feels like Fall! (I'm happy, but the cat isn't pleased and thinks it's my fault) :D
...
How could it be otherwise with freakin' felines???

That knife fills me with ardor, Dschal!;)

...
A Kutmaster for me today.
Amazing!:thumbsup::cool: What material is used for the handle?

Stag lambsfoot from A. Wright & Son, Sheffield.
Today I have the A. Wright Lambsfoot @Jack Black gave me that I received last Saturday. Great knife with some IMO gorgeous stag.
Thanks again Jack.
...
PJohn & Randy & Joshua, those are astounding stag lambsfoots!:cool::thumbsup: PJohn, the Stetson liner art is awesome!

Splendid stockman, Lance! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

... I used to keep this Opinel in my bag but she rides much better in my pocket now that I thinned her down.
...
Arresting Opinel mod!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Another charred handle finish, or is that some type of dark stain?

...
Going with another Lambsfoot and Penknife combination today :)
...
Great to see the artistic horn again, and the message on the penknife made me chuckle!:cool::thumbsup:

These two for me today. It’s the first time totin the #43 Orange Camel Bone and of course my frequently carried Ashley’s Choice Lambsfoot! :)

Congrats on the new orange 43, Ron!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

These two knives prove to me that I don't really know what I like in a pattern. ... I never considered a sowbelly and now you couldn't get this one away from me.View attachment 1004417
I came to the same surprising realization about sowbelly stock knives for me, Alan.:thumbsup::cool:

...
Thank you GT :) Eee bah gum is a Yorkshire exclamation, not heard that often these days, which roughly translates as 'Oh my God', or 'Oh by God'

I think they are the same thing GT :)

Thanks again my friend, seeing your regulars always makes me smile :)
Thanks, Jack. :) My regulars make me smile, too, and since they're with me all the time, people are starting to think there's something wrong with the geezer with the perpetual goofy grin!:(:p

It's nice and pinchable.
IF one hasn't flayed one's fingertips from the exposed blade tip!:rolleyes:

...
Thanks, GT. I don't notice the notch, yet finger placement seems to give a secure hold and adequate leverage when slicing. Hwen closed, it is placed at the widest section of the blade and a bit forward of mid-point, so leverage in opening is excellent. The nail nick is almost redundant. I like your EDC selection today, especially the inscribed Alox.
- Stuart
Thanks for the EO rumination, Stuart, and for liking my "hardy perennials", as Jack calls them. :)

I feel into a trap of going shopping with my wife today, so I'm carrying light for a Twosday. A Queen #19 trapper (1958-1960) - at least it's two blades today.
...
- Stuart
Wow! A 4.5" trapper is what you call carrying light?? You're raising the bar a bit yourself, sir! ;):cool:

...
5K Qs 5K Qs Thank GT! It’s hard for me to go a day without a pen knife. ... I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again, I love the Case Soddie. Is that an alox solo with your name etched on the blade? Gift from your school? I’ve been really tempted to get one lately. ...
I really enjoy this Camillus rope knife. At 3 1/4” with some meat in the handle, it feels great in hand is razor sharp. It’s in my pocket today along with a pen knife, of course.
...
Thanks, Nick. :) It's basically an Alox Solo, except I think it's now called the Swiss Army 1. My colleagues at work gave me an Amazon gift card, and I used some of it to get the knife with the personalized blade etch.:) Your rope knife is historic!:cool::thumbsup:

"I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony!" ;) That's an astounding knife, Gev!

An I*XL Schrade Canoe in Stag.....

fbfVir6.jpg
Fantastic, Mitch!!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I have one too, but the stag looks much different. Are the liners in yours "complicated"? Like this, perhaps?
bXBM0eg.jpg

They look okay as a pair but I guess if you carried your 43 Stag instead of the Ashley's Choice , they may pull your pants down . NOT a pretty mental picture my friend .
...
Harry
:D:D

Here comes a bone bonanza!!:cool::cool::thumbsup:
Still the Weck.
...
Little Camillus today.
Those are antique aces, Nick!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I picked up another Voos jack. The main blade has seen some honest wear, but the scales are in near perfect condition.View attachment 1003814View attachment 1003815 ...
That aged Voos is alluring, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool:
Camillus four line jack today

wK6UssIh.jpg
August and aristocratic, Steve! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
This two blade 14 arrived in today's mail:thumbsup: I knocked down some of the sharp jigging, flitzed the blade etch off and sharpened up and dropped in my front left pocket:)

...
Appealing new jack, Paul! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
My first Bulldog. ...

...
Congrats, Ken; you continue to bark with the big dogs! ;):thumbsup:
Ancient, awe-inspiring bone, Dwight! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Awesome Alox GT but let me tell you friend those Rough Riders Rock. Your canoe collection never fails to impress. Well done professor (retired) (I am pleased to add :D).

I spent about 20 minutes on the stones with this one tonight, putting a razor shaving edge on it. Great knife from 1993.

Thanks for the picture and the background, Jeff. Some say that Queen's modern knives, like this one, can't be classics, but that knife blows such commentary away. A beautiful, well-made knife that can do its work. Classic!!
