What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Just acquired this 2008 S&M Hawbaker-style muskrat in Fireoak bone and have been carrying it today. Feels great in the hand, nice size for a four-finger grip.

Handsome back pocket Case, Gary!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I didn't notice before that the jigging pattern has stacked sine waves!:cool::cool:;)
Thanks, Gary! Good observation. It does resemble sine waves. 60 Hz?;)

Alright you guys! Only shyster salespeople act like that.:poop: And they either wash out quickly, or rack up numbers that get them promoted to sales managers. In 27 years in sales, I saw both kinds.
A good one, like I tried to be, earns the long time loyalty of his clients, and his drivers bend over backwards for his accounts. Like any other profession.
Jeff, I must apologize to you, agreeing all salesman are unscrupulous. This is not true, there are many who bend over backward to see that their customer is satisfied.
Again, if I offended you, I'm truly sorry.
Dave

You must NOT apologize! I was not offended in the least. Sorry- I think I came across as defensive.

I used to tell new clients "I hope you need a salesman real bad, because I'm a real bad salesman."

Stuart, I wish I had your tracking skills, including the ability to recognize predators by their spoor! ;) That's an impressive Barlow!:thumbsup::cool:

Miscellaneous Knife this week is a Schrade whittler (thanks, Tsar Bomba):

Peanut this week is a Remington Sportsman series version:

Thanks, GT. Some beasts leave very identifiable spoor. I admire your Schrade whittler and and Remington peanut choices, and I am unanimous in that position.

Lol ...wait till you your wife reads this...the look on her face...priceless :D

Gev, I told her that I said some nice things on this thread about Ron ( @Half/Stop ), whom she had just met during his drop-in, and she replied, "That's appropriate, he seems to be a really nice guy." I agreed, so I left it at that. Whew!!

In a word - honest.

I figured that this iconic knife belonged on my belt for the day. I am absolutely in love, hard to get more traditional than a Kephart.

I agree with the Green River reference and offer my admiration for that choice. What a classic knife! (BTW, I, too, find a way to slip a fixed knife/sheath onto my belt more often these days.)

Just back from @glennbad , matches my Whittler now:D Going right in my pocket;)

Fabulous work!! I gotta send some needy knives in for attention.

I can't hold out any longer. I set this one aside and pondered, (we do ponder in ND):) if I should include this in my carry routine even though the answer to me was a resounding YES, I hesitated doing so. Well no longer, I carried today and it's modest cutting task consisted of freeing a frozen pizza from it's plastic wrap:eek::D

That yellow will brighten any day. Thanks for sharing it, Paul.

Decided to break from my months long custom stockman trend and pocket this 48 today. If they ever make a run of 48's with a wharncliff only, I'll have to have my first single blade wharncliff.

That is an elegant looking knife and your option would be even more so.

1920-1940 Case Tested Green Bone.

That knife took my breathe away and I had to step back from the PC. Dang, that's fine!!

That's a handsome package, right there. So nice in so many ways.

A Case jack and a gentlmanly Camillus 41 penknife for my off-to-church selection.

A great pair, Jeff. I think that both are beautifully benign (and extremely useful).

That's a great pairing, Alan. Symbiosis.

:eek::D Most of us here on The Porch have developed skills to help us to quickly search through and evaluate large piles of knives, without slavish attention to getting everything back in its place!:thumbsup:;)

Yes, he was in CE and CF mode and, thankfully, shared his observations to my educational benefit.

Intriguing mystery, Stuart.:cool: I can't help you, but have you tried the Levine ID forum?

Yes, I have with two other knives from the same maker - to no avail. Oh, well.

Alox Knife of the Week has been a red Cadet

Yep, that one is worthy of a daily ride in the pockets.

I carried this big Taylor Schrade 858 stockman all weekend, and even gutted a whitetail doe with it.

Thanks for sharing the pic of that sturdy worker and congrats on the deer.

That's some fine muskrat love, Leslie.
