Remember, the salesman will tell you ANYTHING you want to hear. Then leave the driver to be the bad guy.![]()
True words my friend!![]()
Jeff its all good,Alright you guys! Only shyster salespeople act like that. And they either wash out quickly, or rack up numbers that get them promoted to sales managers. In 27 years in sales, I saw both kinds.
A good one, like I tried to be, earns the long time loyalty of his clients, and his drivers bend over backwards for his accounts. Like any other profession.
Back onto knives, my peanut handled all of the tape and plastic with aplomb.
Cardboard is so abrasive, much moreso than even most hardwoods, that I never cut it with my knives. I have a big burn pile out back.
And my two year old grandson is coming Tuesday, so he’s going to have a huge box to play in.![]()
Same in the legal profession!Jeff its all good,I was in sales at a GM dealership, also a Modular home's rep there's the " Good the Bad and the Ugly"

Well-said, Paul!Stuart, looks like my room kindaI agree, Time with Ron passes way to quick and you wish you had more time, he's that kinda guy, you know the type, kind, smart, funny, super generous and a wealth of info. We met at the rendezvous two yrs ago and had an instant connection, wish I had more time to spend with he and Pam, they are GREAT people
It's a neat thing when you hear of porch members getting to meet face to face, glad you two had a good visit![]()
Well, ya know, Paul and Gev, that before @Half/Stop got his mitts on the "mess" it was more orderly, kinda like your grandmother's sewing table. But I turn my back for just a minute and look what happened. Like a badger digging a burrow!

Congrats again, Spaten!!...

Recently arrived, and into my pocket.
Your Bulldog pair is very distinguished, Harry!
Exquisite 2-blade teardrop, Dean!
Intriguing mystery, Stuart. One of the knives @Half/Stop and I pondered over was this folding hunter by a mystery maker. I have four knives by this maker but can't find any information about whose mark it is.
...
Anyone recognize this mark? Opposite side of tang is stamped 1979.

Noteworthy vintage knife, Leslie!!!
...These today, some may look at that Klien, and think "Wonder why he didn't choose that neat old Queen?" .Well yesterday evening I handed it to my boss to look at while on the way to do an estimate on another job. ...Well she did, but here's the catch, that's when I learned "Oh, I only wanted you to see if you could clean it up for me, I don't have one like that"Part of me was bummed to have "lost" it so quickly, but another bigger part is happy she likes it and enjoys it
It was meant to be, I had mentioned it had a weaker pull than I'd like, but she can pinch it open. ...
Too cool, Paul!Hey my friend, I took note of that Queen the other day when you posted it and thought "hey, I have one just like or similar" so I poked around and TADA!!! I just had it sitting next to me as I read your post...shoot me a pm with your address and I'll send it your way Monday...Hey, karma in, karma out
This is for doing your boss a solid (my boy's say that and I always wanted to say it if the right occasion popped up)

The best of the spaghetti westerns, for sure. His best western might be Outlaw Josey Wales (my wife votes for Good, Bad, & Ugly). My favorite Eastwood movie is Kelly's Heroes.
You sound more like a lawyer than a math professor, Gary! That's a policy??What are the consequences of non-compliance?? (How are "ugly" and "hike" defined?)
Sorry, Jeff!Alright you guys!

Aging very well MarkSorry, Jeff!
My son delivers furniture. Everyday he gets the "but the salesman promised...." Then my son tries to politely explain why he is forbidden to haul away your old mattress (or furniture) in the same truck that other peoples new mattresses (or furniture) are in. They almost never understand and it's not the salesman they are mad at. lol
Happy Sunday! I'm carrying the 2017 BF Tc today.

Bailed non-SAK of the Week has been a Böker USA linesman knife (thanks, Mark). I've always liked this well-built knife, but this week I finally noticed that its model number is actually a palindrome (9229), which just adds to its desirability:

Admirable knife, Senhor Pinto!I have a quince bush in my front yard, but the fruit never gets as big as in your photo.
![]()
Thanks, Mitch.Your spear/pen stag is grand!
What's the story behind that bottle cap?
I'm like the others that have already commented, love the alox SAK's. I've never handled one, but I'm thinking it's time to go down that road and try one.Alox Knife of the Week has been a red Cadet:
