What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I'm off to the back doctor today (and as luck would have it my back is OK at the moment), so I thought I'd carry this Winchester BB Doctor's Knife, along with my Knife of the Year ;)
Isn't that the way it goes? The car will never "make that noise" for the mechanic, either.

I'm afraid I may not be able to settle on just one Knife of the Year, but I'm carrying a couple of candidates today.

Finally finished the sheath for my latest home made belt knife. Put a scary edge on, and gonna carry it.
Have a great day, folks.View attachment 1032061View attachment 1032062

All three are great, Gary, and I really like the look of your RR Ram's horn Canoe!

Starting the day with this one...

Beautiful bone and shield on your Trapper!:thumbsup:

Great looking CBK! Can you shed some light on the specifics, please?

Nice work Jeff

Great looking fixed blade Jeff, and I agree with Shawn Wurrwulf Wurrwulf some more details please? :)

Thanks a bunch, guys! Appreciate it.

It started out as an old, worn out Nicholson file~ 50 cents at a flea market.
I brought up images of Russel Canadian Belt Knives on the internet, and after a bunch of tries, came up with a drawing to make a template from. Then I slowly ground away the metal that did not look like a CBK.
Blade is 3 7/8”, cutting edge a bit under 3 1/2.
The handle scales are from a tree I helped cut down at my brother in laws about 20 years ago. I think it’s hawthorn but not sure. It’s extremely hard. I kept a couple chunks and sliced into boards with my chain saw. Stained in dark cherry and finished with several coats of boiled linseed oil.
