I am an IT geek and I have a deep seated need to be analog after slinging 1's and 0's all day. I started with rehanging axes earlier this year, but I have only been playing with leather for about 2 months (this is my third sheath/pocket slip). I highly recommend the fine tutorials over in the Sheaths & Such subforum. While I am no pro at this, I have been very satisfied with the results for my own uses. Definitely a "if I can do it, anyone can" kinda thing. For me, it adds another dimension to my love of all things sharp and pointy.

I can relate to that. That's why I started whittling.

That's only your third sheath/pocket slip? I'm impressed! Thanks for pointing me over to the Sheaths & Such subforum. Sometimes I forget there are things here on BF other than the Porch. ;) I'll head over there later today and look at some of those tutorials. :)

Thanks, Steve!
Since I first saw your 17 in this thread, I’ve kept an eye out for one like it, but alas, they come near and dear when they show up. Especially in the condition of yours.
Also daydream about finding a 16, which the old catalog calls a heavy equal end jack.
Thanks for sharing your 17!

Well, nice place!
New homes always require the wife to make "the list "...paint, new toilets etc..., and if you have acreage, that adds more stuff to do.

Thank you! And yes, the projects continue to pile up... I am in the process of remodeling my bar at the moment.

Another nice pairing today Dylan

Going with my AC and my #66 today :)

Thank you, Jack. A terrific duo you are sporting today as well. The stag on that AC is always a delight to behold.

I have the Ebony and something dressed in my favorite red sawcut today.

Thanks, I've been on the lookout for a #16 for a while now. The only ones I've seen have been black synthetic covers and not in great shape.
In feel fortunate to have found this one for a reasonable price.

Good luck in your hunt !

That's a show piece for sure.

I know, I know. Same knife for the past 4 or so pictures. I just can’t stop carrying this one. I went to pick up my 48 this morning, but my hand subconsciously slide right passed it and grabbed this instead.
I know what you mean. Don't know whatever possessed me to sell mine, the #56 frame is so pocketable and the Wharncliffe blade is a dream to cut with. Good choice.

I was surprised at just how many boxes it hit for me. I passed up on way too many other dogleg patterns because I was hunting for a wharncliffe. The Houndstooth 55’s are nearly impossible to come by, though I’d still probably pay an unreasonable amount to get one on those too, haha.
