What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Hope you show that @glennbad lambsfoot often, Dylan.

Very Christmas(y) Dylan. I'll never tire of viewing that baaaaadddd lamb.

Thank you, fellas. I certainly do not intend to be shy with this one.

Rules? I had no idea. I should be better informed, so that I can break the rules intentionally.

It was more a tongue in cheek comment on my part. We have "Black Friday" "Old Friend Friday", etc. Sometimes I like to be a rebel. :D

This is my first time posting here. I’ve been watching this thread for a bit though and thought I might join in.

Wonderful first post!
Welcome!

I'm recording them all to binge watch between Christmas and New Years. (seriously considering stocking up on provisions, telling people I'm out of town that week, and having a stay-cation holed up in the house. :D )
:cool::thumbsup::cool::thumbsup::cool:
That is a GREAT idea!

I wonder why current knives can never seem to achieve this depth of color?

I do so love that knife, those covers are incredible!

;) Yep. After the whole family coming for Thanksgiving, work stress, all the Xmas socializing, etc. I'm ready for a pot of chili on the stove, a whole season of Doctor Who on the DVR, wearing pajamas all day, puttering around sharpening knives...
I’ve wondered as well.
Maybe they give a long soak in red dye which penetrates deeply. Followed by a shorter soak in darker dye which penetrates less. That’s why the red shows where it’s thinned down at the bolsters.
Going to have to try that.

Edit: lovely Case!
I've wondered if they used to use some toxic chemicals like cadmium that are no longer allowed.

I'm trying something different for the next few days. I've been missing my scout knives something terrible, never having the awl and cap lifter when I need them. But I really want to carry two sharp blades instead of just one. And I'd like to be able to carry other knives as well, but standard scouts are heavy enough on their own. So my plan is to carry this Case Jr. Scout in my change pocket, freeing up my front pocket for whatever single blade knife I decide to carry that day. Today is the #3 Oregon Trapper. When evening rolls around, and the jeans are replaced with sweats, the single blade knife is left on the dresser, and the small scout handles the evening duties on its own.

If this works out, I'll track down a really nice bone handled small scout to replace the orange G-10 model.

Sounds like a plan Buzz, that little Case is nice

Lovely Gev

Thank you. :)
Yes, here's a picture from when I bought it. Fantastic walk and talk, and enough blade left to fashion into the coolest box cutter.

I only started watching with the New Who, and my favorite is Tennet. I haven't seen Whittaker yet. I'm recording them all to binge watch between Christmas and New Years. I thought you had a Cub Scout knife for this sort of thing. (Not suggesting you don't need another Case.)

I'm 50% sure that I have a blue Camillus Cub with the shiny shield in excellent condition somewhere. I have a blue Cam Cub with a dull shield and a worn blade, a black Imperial with dodgy locks (may be a cattle stampede survivor), and a white Cam in excellent shape. I think I'll carry the white Cam Cub today. Along with Schizoid Jack and Mojo Yellow.
