What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My Cripple Creek all weekend
Probably until my 2018 Blade forum knife arrives early next week :)

... I also, as always, enjoyed your synopsis from the posts. I always look forward to it!
...
You sure pack a lot into your posts! I know others have said it, but we all enjoy your thoughtful comments (puns and alliteration and all) and cheerful attitude. I look forward to reading them.
...
Thanks for the encouragement, @mitch4ging and @Prester John . :)
It's ironic that after getting this support, I haven't composed one of my "comments posts" for a week! :(
I ended up more than 20 pages behind in this thread, and I'm going to "catch up" by quoting only posts that directly addressed me - kind of a "speak only when spoken to" strategy for covering a lot of ground.
So that's all there is in this post (with one exception); proceed at your own risk!

Thanks for the compliment, and yes I did.
First punching the holes, then taking the needle and waxed thread to it.

Some nice carries you've got there, I've gotta add a Slimline trapper to my list.
Thanks for the sheath info and the compliment on my knives, HnS. :)

Thanks, Gary. Speaking of yellow again, kitchen duty is a good idea for your Case Slimline Trapper.:)
Thanks, Dean. :) Slimline trapper is definitely an ace in the kitchen.

....
Just trying to keep up after falling behind, GT. I know you know how that can be.
...

I sure do, Stuart, with this very post being a case in point!

Thank you GT, it's nice to see all those together :)
...
Thanks GT, that is a quality quintet you have in your kitchen :)
...
Thanks for acknowledging my "kitchen cutlery", Jack & Tom. :) Of course, I have you to thank for the Case trapper, Tom! ;):thumbsup:

Many thanks Mr. Gary, it is a toy, a big toy!!!
Thanks for the identification, Senhor Pinto.:cool:

...
Not enough Wenger love. Nice one!:)
...
I appreciate your noticing that Wenger Esquire, mitch. :)

It rare GT! Thanks for the compliment my friend, that's a fine threesome you're showing there
...
Much obliged for your consistent kindness, Jack. :)

Thank you, Gary! Your venerable Soldier was well photographed. It looks good for 32 years of age! :)
Thanks GT, the soldier is a beauty
...
Thanks for your comments, Dean and Tom. :) You know, I myself didn't look too bad at 32 years old; we'll see how the Soldier looks after another 35 years. :D

Today's carry: Black Pioneer and my 'vade macum', Case mini copperhead.

EXCEPTION ALERT: Although this post does not directly address me, I have to thank Dean for teaching me a new Latin phrase!:cool::cool:

...
Nice covers on those Canoes GT, and that Marbles is an interesting pattern
...
All three are great, Gary, and I really like the look of your RR Ram's horn Canoe!
...
Thanks again, Jack and Dean. :) When it comes to you gentlemen, I think of "EDC" as an acronym for the "Every Day Compliments" that you both lavish!:thumbsup:;)

I love that Buck Canoe, I never saw one by Buck before.
Thanks, Ted. :) I have Buck canoes with wood, smooth bone, jigged bone, and stag covers (most are Chinese Bucks).

...
Some of my favourites there GT :)
...
You're too kind, Jack. :)

Nice ones !
Thanks, Steve. :)

Hope your eyes are on the mend, Gary. :)
Hope you've had a comfortable night GT, and that you're soon back on great form my friend. Three great-looking knives
...
Thanks for the well-wishes, Dave & Jack. I'm back to normal activities today, and the laser treatment had no discernible negative effects on my vision, even temporarily.

I think I've posted pics of all of the knives in my rotation for this week. But I have a couple of "free choice" knives that aren't on the prescribed schedule.
One is a Rough Rider stag sowbelly:

The other is an Imperial Diamond Edge Barlow that I won in a @veitsi_poika "secret" GAW!:thumbsup:;) Thanks, Kevin!

A lot of nice knives today you guys, too many to comment on! Been enjoying this canoe a lot. It’s got some heft to it, at 3 5/8” with a broader/wider profile, it feels bigger than it really is but with single springs and all rounded edges, it rides very nice in the pocket. The patina gets real blue on these 1095 blades, wonder what the difference is in the element contents compared to other 1095 blades that don’t turn quite as blue.

It gets hard to get caught up sometimes istnt GT?

I do appreciate you’re compound posts, some don’t like reading long posts on their phones but I always look forward to your input and comments. It’s one of the reasons I post and read this thread so often.

Sometimes I miss the ability to tell how many posts you have in a particular thread. You’re diun’ a great job with your commentary my friend, keep it up.

Now that’s a knice knife, I love Robeson, only have one but I think they’re one of the greats. That’s a lot of Robeson there my friend.
Thank you. It's missing a shield about as thick as aluminum flashing. I think I'll try jigging over it before I try to cut a bit of flashing to fit.

Great look'n knife, but I gotta ask how was the concert?:thumbsup:

The #66 is one I reach for a lot around the house, very useful. The Forum Knife is going to be among my favorites to carry.

George Strait is excellent, David, thank you. Terrific performance, sold out crowd, Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen opening, and you can tell he really enjoys it! He plays a weekend out here every few months "Strait to Vegas", including now the Rodeo is in town.

Here's last nights setlist: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/george-strait/2018/t-mobile-arena-las-vegas-nv-6b97524a.html . He has such a distinguished catalog, he can't possibly play them all. I like the Merle covers too (17/18)!

What do you think of it? I've considered one but not sure. Its big! Not sure if I'd use it much.
It is large but feels better to hold and use than the Queen cattle king. Doesn’t feel awkwardly large to me like other jumbo stockmans do. The clip is even better in person it’s sweet.

Objective overview
Craftsmanship on all the parts is outstanding but the liners and springs aren’t completely even in a few spots and close to the bolsters on both ends there’s not quite a gap but it’s not as nice as the middle which is perfect.

There’s some side to side play which I expected but wish it didn’t have. The centering and blade arrangement is perfect. Great smooth pulls snaps and half stops. The cover to bolster is almost perfect there’s one spot on the whole thing that will stop my nail. Great grinds and thin edges. Love the thick tangs and back springs look real substantial.

Well done overall not as nice as the warncliff trapper I have its perfect every bit of a custom quality piece.
Probably about as good as you’ll get out of this run wish it didn’t have the play but the rest is good so I’m happy

I didn't get a deer, but did drop three coyotes
Regarding coyotes, Yesterday a senior couple were walking along the local river path here with there 14 year old English Spanel in tow. In other words he was on leash and following behind, a coyote pounced out of the bush and grabbed the dog before they knew what was happening. A young 12 year old boy was riding his bike in the opposite direction,
raced up and smacked the coyote on the head with his bicycle helmut. Long story shortend the coyote let go of the old dog, and was saved from disaster, a very brave young man.

Is it legal to go trolling for coyotes where you live? :D

Thanks for taking the time with your large multi quote posts, I don't even know how to do it but I'm sure it's not a quick thing to do.

That DE version imperial Barlow is pretty cool, I like my basic imperial Barlow but this one has a bit of extra cool factor.
