@r8shell

Actually Mr. Gila Monster wasn't harmed or touched, but was sprayed with the high pressure garden hose.

They're the lizard equivalent of a rattlesnake. Gila Monsters while beautiful are EXTREMELY dangerous.

Mean, Aggressive and Venomous. Their bite is extremely painful, nasty and they also lock on and *WILL NOT* let go.

In hospitals here, they submerge your arm/leg in water to get them to release their bite.

They're notorious for getting under cars, so most people bit are ankle/toe bit.

Also, if you try to pick one up, they do not run away, they will attack you!

Where exactly is this place, that I don’t want to visit? :eek:o_O

Nice Cammies ! Is that top one a modded TL-29 ?

I'm also a guitar player , good luck in the studio

50 years playing guitar:eek:, and my first experience at recording. I’m the solo/lead guitarist in two bands, and playing live, all of my mistakes disappear in the next good line, but recording ... One solo took 30 takes to get right.o_O

This one today

Why would we want to pick one up? I am reminded of The Swiss [Daddy] Robinson, who killed a big lizard by stabbing it up the nostril with a sharp bit of cane or reed. I expect they ate it. Maybe I should read that again. I don't remember if they had guns.

You get a steady flow of tourist's here (also snowbirds = retired 6 month residents).

You can play golf, ride harley's, hike, rock climb and keep the top down all year -- the weather attracts lots of folks.

Most of the people hurt seem to come from 8 to 12 states (mostly cold weather areas - hence snowbirds).

One of the major problems/causes happens to be people feeding wild animals (food chain much?).

"Those Javelina's are so cute and just *LOVE* pizza!" Unfortunately, Mountain Lions *LOVE* tasty Javelina's.

And of course, there's the "Dude, hold my beer" selfie picture type of folks!

Just not enough *Darwin Awards* to go round it seems. :p

My Favorite Dinner Knife is getting used tonight.

Edit:

I forgot to mention the "Native Born Genius" that goes trail walking/hiking in shorts, sandals and/or flip flops wearing a fanny pack and sun visor, carrying a bottle of water.

** Gila Monsters & Rattlesnakes do love them some tasty ankle! **

Gary, your XYZ brand canoe is a top drawer looker! Do you know what HCOA stands represents?
Thanks, Dean. :) That's a canoe I've been watching for a long time at some of the dealer sites I visit. It used to be available for an unbelievably low price, and I debated buying one just to see what it was like. Then I happened to find a couple of positive reviews, but by then the cost had gone up substantially (trade wars??). Anyway, with the "loyal customer" discount, I could still buy it for under $7, so I did. It's very solid, came in a very sturdy box with a genuine velvet bag inside, and the bone is quite nice. The bolsters were quite yellow/gold when it arrived, but I could polish it closer to silver. To answer your question, the shield says "Handyman Club of America". Here's another photo showing the irony of the global marketplace:

My Stag/Horn Knife this week is the Rough Rider sowbelly stockman (carried as a "free choice" knife last week):

I’ve had this 15 with me since I put pants on todayo_O

Edited to add, I saw on another thread that Bob passed away one year ago today. I was told this was once Bob’s knife when I bought it. I did not know Bob and was completely unaware of the date of his passing when I choose to carry it today. Perhaps Bob is reaching out to all of his buddies on the forum to say howdy???
