@r8shell

Actually Mr. Gila Monster wasn't harmed or touched, but was sprayed with the high pressure garden hose.

They're the lizard equivalent of a rattlesnake. Gila Monsters while beautiful are EXTREMELY dangerous.

Mean, Aggressive and Venomous. Their bite is extremely painful, nasty and they also lock on and *WILL NOT* let go.

In hospitals here, they submerge your arm/leg in water to get them to release their bite.

They're notorious for getting under cars, so most people bit are ankle/toe bit.

Also, if you try to pick one up, they do not run away, they will attack you!

Funny, I was just telling someone all that about Gilas poison bite today.

A buddy has one for a pet.... why I'm not sure. Will never understand keeping something that can't leave it's tank, you can't handle, etc...

Same guy keeps a tarantula too, so I'm not real sure of his sanity all around anyway.. ;)

Nice bunch Jer :thumbsup:

Thanks, Dean. :) That's a canoe I've been watching for a long time at some of the dealer sites I visit. It used to be available for an unbelievably low price, and I debated buying one just to see what it was like. Then I happened to find a couple of positive reviews, but by then the cost had gone up substantially (trade wars??). Anyway, with the "loyal customer" discount, I could still buy it for under $7, so I did. It's very solid, came in a very sturdy box with a genuine velvet bag inside, and the bone is quite nice. The bolsters were quite yellow/gold when it arrived, but I could polish it closer to silver. To answer your question, the shield says "Handyman Club of America". Here's another photo showing the irony of the global marketplace:
