What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Wooden Wednesday notwithstanding, I have a doctor's appointment today so I'm totin' this Ulster. (My doctor is a duck hunter. so the presence of knives calms him, rather than concerns him.)

Good luck at the Docs Stuart, hope he isn't too mesmerised by that exquisite Ulster

WOW Stuart, what an Ulster:eek: I've been in this knife game pretty much all my life and I have NEVER seen an Ulster Dr's knife:cool::cool::cool: and look at it's great condition:thumbsup: so neat, thanks for posting that GORGEOUS knife:):cool::D

Notable knife, Nick!:cool::thumbsup: What were the qualities that turned it into a long term EDC for you??
Thanks Gary! I’ve only been caring it for a week but I guess it can be considered a long-term EDC around here, LOL! To answer your question, I’m sure you already know I love single spring knives with blades on each end like this Camillus half congress. Most single spring two bladers or at least on most of them that I own, have a spear or pen main blade and a little secondary pen which are very similar blades IMO. This knife has a sheepsfoot/coping main and a little secondary pen which I prefer. Rat tailed bolsters with nice bone, Rodgers I’m guessing?, and at 3.5 closed, makes it a perfect EDC. I love your Zamorano and the black Case canoe you’ve been toting!

D Duckdog Wow just wow Stuart. Amazing!!

As others have stated, Tom, that is one handsome knife.

Thanks Stuart, much appreciated.

I nominate Tom to cater The Porch Pizza Party!! ;):D

Thanks for the Marbles mention, Tom. :) That scout/Plow pair is another dynamic duo of folders!!:cool::cool:

Big Knife of the Week is a Rough Rider marlin spike:

Thanks GT! I don’t think anyone would like that lol, however I am taking some pizza crust-making lessons from our friend Jeff @Amir Fleschwund which look promising to improve my results :). The white on the Marlin Spike pops, nice photo

These two for Wednesday.

I just have to say that your taste in knives is absolutely impeccable. Every day of this thread is made better by your pictures.

That is a breathtaking knife!!! Every aspect of it works together perfectly.

As well as GT's birthday, I'm celebrating 500 pages and 10,000 posts in the Guardian's Lambsfoot thread with a Double Lambsfoot Day! :) Carrying the 2017 Guardians Lambsfoot, and my Knife of 2018, the Ashley's Choice :)

Congratulations, Jack, and a good deed well done. That's a potent pair that you are packing today.

The mighty legume.

That 'nut is phat!

Stuart, I hope you can dry out without much damage. :( That pearl stockman is pure poetry!:thumbsup::thumbsup: What's the brand? Edge

International Knife of the Week is a curly birch knife that my daughter bought in the Zamorano workshop in Toledo, Spain and gave me for my birthday a couple of years ago

Thanks, GT and all is well for now. Yes, the pearl stockman is an Edge (Solingen). Your Zamorano is a real looker (and looks like a fine slicer). Happy Birthday. You don't appear to have aged a bit since last year (neither have I).

Good luck at the Docs Stuart, hope he isn't too mesmerised by that exquisite Ulster

Thanks, Jack, it was a relative breeze. He liked the knife, as he had not seen a doctor's knife before, but we mostly talked about duck hunting. He was really pleased to discuss my son's new duck blind.

Thanks, Paul. It's my only Ulster version. I actually posted a slightly out of focus pic; here's one bit clearer:

Buzz is correct in his comments on this ravishing Remington and as to your posts, in general. Always top notch, both in the variety and quality of the knives and in their portrayal. Thank you, pal.

That is a breathtaking knife!!! Every aspect of it works together perfectly.

Thanks, Buzz, just trying to stay with the scout/camp/engineer crowd that you post.

No trick photography, it actually is floating on 4 inches of water:D

That's a great photo and a well-balanced knife!!

It looks like we got the reversed mis-matched sides on our Lambsfoots. :D
I like the contrast. What's important is they match in thickness & shape.

That is excellent. Indeed like a reversible jacket.

I feel like that a lot, Dylan, but knives like those beauties don'l magically appear in my pockets. Thanks for sharing them from afar, though.

If only we could rely on magic a bit more, I'd have a lot more knives :D.

Dylan, a very beautiful pipe and lambsfoot, warm and toasty! I was blessed to find the sowbelly at a knife show in St. Louis which I attended along with Rick (Railsplitter) and Tom (Whetstone39). The stag instantly grabbed my devotion and out came the wallet. :)

Thank you for the kind compliments, Jeff. That Sowbelly is a most memorable knife, I can understand the wallet jumping out of the pocket. It would have happened to many us, I presume.

Your photos always brighten my day Dylan :)

Thank you, Jack. Congratulations on your fine thread's milestone. A worthy pair of knives you are toting today to commemorate the occasion.

All of the fine wood covered Beer Scouts occurred before my time here. They are always a pleasure to see though and yours is no exception.

Stuart, that is an exceptional example of a finely made knife. I will admit, doctor's knives don't hold a lot of appeal to me, but I wouldn't say no to that one.

Well, it is Wooden Wednesday and I thought I would carry a pair of knives clad in not-so-black Ebony.
