What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Cap, aesthetically, that might be my favorite jack of all time, and you photograph it beautifully! The only other jack that appeals to me in the same way (visually) is the Eureka, but both have a spear main and I prefer a clip for use. The knurled bolster is to me simply wonderful. Here is my favorite Eureka for comparison.

Right, it's 2 a.m. here and time for what the British in the 'old days' (before SM :D) used to call "getting some kip" The 20 hours darkness here messes up my sleeping clock every year but it starts to get 45 secs lighter tomorrow :D

It's messing with me now too Will. When I see you post in the "morning" I know it's time for me to go to bed.

I use to have one similar, less the clip point, and it was stamped with "NATO".
Lost it on the way back from the Gulf War.

That sounds like a German Army Knife, they were made by a number of contractors, including Victorinox. Very sorry to hear you lost it Dennis :( I used to come across them regularly, gifted them to a few folks here, but I haven't seen one in a few years now

Maybe someday Jack! The Ironwood is definitely a more attractive choice. I really love my bigun in Ironwood! On the subject of the yellow Delrin CV SBJ, it is a knife that is fully capable for a single blade folder at a price that is extremely competitive!

A great knife Duane

You recommend the book that highly? Maybe you should post a pic of an excerpt! :p:thumbsup:
Thanks again for the birthday wishes, Jack. :) I try to take "the long view", and not worry so much about the quality of individual days, but shoot for an entire YEAR being wonderful overall, all things considered. ;):cool:

I'll try to take a couple of pics later ;) Good for you my friend

Jack Black has become the White Wizard of Yorkshire!! (And who can blame him?):thumbsup::thumbsup::)

:D

My "free choice" carries for this week are a Rough Rider amber jigged bone peanut (can't believe that I took so long to get a RR peanut )

Absolutely love that pic Dave :D

I had one many years ago and iirc I either lost it or gave it to an older gentleman who seemed interested in it. I feel like I gifted it to someone. After many years without, a certain member here, (I won’t mention any names) gifted me one with several other knives from the other side of the pond. I loved the Mauser and and to this day it’s still my favorite Woods walkin’ Knife when I just wanna throw 1 knife in my pocket that’ll handle most of my tasks for the day.

Today though I have the 2018 Traditional Forum’s Knife in my pocket.

Robust ram's horn on those, Will & Jeff!:thumbsup::cool:

Another lovely knife-on-limb pic!:cool::thumbsup: Where is the sun located in that shot? With such a blue sky, my photo attempts would have distracting reflections in bolsters, blades, pins, shield, and bail!

Capital canoe, Ron!:cool::thumbsup: Have you and your Buck canoe been to the beach lately? ;)

Sensational stag, Alan! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Case Barlow and Whittler are way better than cream & sugar with your coffee, Jeff!:cool::cool:

Dave, where I live, we had only 8% of possible sunlight in November, but your Böker had me searching for my sunglasses!:cool::cool:

Totin' my latest acquisition a SW 856

Congrats on your incredible pick-up, Steve! Peach seed on parade!!!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

I know those electrician knives are supposed to be simple work knives, but I think they look so elegant and refined with the black handles and silver "fittings"!:cool::cool:

On a Throwback Thursday theme, I'm hanging out (not much totin' today, as a 2 day rain is arriving as I post this) with a couple of older fellas who look to have seen more work in their days than I have in mine.

How can you possibly throw back that pair, Stuart?!?;) IMHO, both are keepers, and I'd probably have the bailed EO jack mounted for display!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Unseasonably warm in the Pacific NW, 55 today and cruddy so I grabbed an 885. Figured the stainless blades may see some work since I’m off for a week now.

Ralphie and his "official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock, and this thing which tells time." (I’m carrying the stockman;):D)
Cool Calf Roper pic, Ken!:cool::thumbsup: I'll bet Ralphie would carry a Calf Roper in his Red Ryder carbine fantasies. ;)

W:eek:W, Dee, is that heaven??:thumbsup::cool:

These two for me today, which is my Friday and the start of a 5 day weekend :).

Prized "piano keys" you've got there, Tom & Rachel!:cool::thumbsup:

I decided to carry something scratted today. Although it is Ancient, it's more than 100 years younger than the coin and the glasses. :)

Stimulating trio of "relics", Dean!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

And today is still in my pocket, Joseph Rodgers of England....

I'm glad you and your new knife take some time to get to know each other, Senhor José! ;):thumbsup:

Top shelf, Stuart; that Woodsman has almost everything going for it!:cool::thumbsup: Equal-end, blades on each end, sublime blade combo, delectable bone ... One spring or two?

I don't really mind any more. It gives me an opportunity to find other ways of filling in the shield holes. :)

A late entrant, but still a strong contender for BF Understatement of the Year!! :p:thumbsup:
Great work on both those shields!!:cool::thumbsup: (Although I don't remember seeing that awesome Buck shield before.:rolleyes:)

I don't own anything as nice as you guys Yet and I say yet because after a recent attic find (my attic) I discovered my First knife from Cub Scouts sitting in a box full of Jack knives from my youth....

Congrats on discovering that noteworthy and nostalgic stash, @Night Rider!!:cool::thumbsup:

Wife watcher her hallmark Christmas movie. Baby boy playing with his new toy. The older kids playing in their rooms. Baby girl with a new LEGO set and knuckle head boy with new drawing stuff. I’m sitting here thanking the Lord for my blessings and toting my Christmas knife.

Sounds like you're sitting pretty, @SVTFreak (even with a boy acting like a knuckle head every now and then)! ;):thumbsup:

Your peanut is sweet as jelly, Heath! ;):thumbsup:

Oh, that does look like a feather, ... I'm afraid that's actually a reflection of the back door. ...
Thanks for the correction, r8shell. :) My misperception was cool while it lasted!:thumbsup:

Thanks, GT :D Well its either suspenders or I go along with the kids and just let my pants hang down on the ground.:p
Not sure that's a look for you, Dave!:p

It's a copy of the Flying Eagle Penny, the size of a silver dollar.

May I say that your rotation for today has some exquisite knives in it, especially that Forum #77 and stag Muskrat.
...
Thanks, GT, and that 77 is a beauty.
...
- Stuart
That was also one of the reasons why lately I haven’t been switching knives daily, it does take up too much of my time in the mornings, to the point where I get to work late sometimes! And on some days, I’m just plain lazy to pick out another knife. Your 77 is a real sweet looking knife btw!!
Thanks for the info and kind words, John & Stuart & Nick. :)

The knives I carry every day, in addition to those prescribed by my weekly rotation schedule:

Totin this 1995 Bulldog two blade, stag Jack. I encourage any of you out there looking for a really nice knife, that these older Bulldogs are top notch, somewhat easily found but well worth the hunt. I consult our esteemed Black Mamba for in depth insight on German knives (thanks Jeff:thumbsup:)

Anyways, centered and solid blades, typical shouldered stag yet not to thick:thumbsup: The pins rise above the stag but are nicely doomed which (I feel) is common and isn't an issue (to me) at all:thumbsup:
