What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thank you very much for the comment.
Yes it is very comfortable in the hand, even being a small knife, the closed size is 3, 1/2 "...
Thank you...yes it looks like the ring and pinky fingers would sit in the indent and allow for fine control :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Toting the 66 today.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!

A classy cigar deserves a classy knife.

Thanks for the cigar recommendations Andrew, @NewBlades16 . You have impeccable taste in knives and cigars.

315 315 , thanks for the reference to Jared Fox’s Journal. I read a copy of it. Fascinating!

@Jack Black , I love your carry this weekend Jack. Our Forum knife becomes more and more enjoyable to me everyday. The Ironwood on your sample Guardian is exquisite. I surely hope it is representative of what Wrights will use. Sometimes Ironwood is too dark, and the grain patterns are hard to discern. Yours is perfect. Thanks so much for making the Lambsfoot available to us. (By the way, you should also look up Jared Fox's Memorandum on the internet. I believe you, more than any of us, would enjoy it tremendously.)

@meako , I hope things continue to improve for you in 2019. You bring so much joy and humor to the Porch with your razor sharp wit.

Fodderwing Fodderwing , thanks for lending a hand of support to our good friend Dwight. Now that I know both of you are Firefighters, it does not surprise me. My son is a Firefighter. You are special people.

Will Power Will Power , Happy New Year my friend. Hoping to see some photographs of the Arctic next year.

Charlie, @waynorth , thanks for answering my questions and making my Knife of the Year available to me. I hope the Oregon Collectors do not mind one of their Beavertail 43's ending up in the Deep South far away from the Northwest. Let's just say that my knife has a Nutria Shield instead of a Beaver!

Thanks for the compliment Prester John Prester John , you have been a great addition to the Porch in 2018. I appreciate your posts, probably because we ply the same profession.

@Duckdog , Stuart, I hope you never reach the last box of your amazing inheritance. If you ever have a dispersal sale, please reserve a place for me in the front row. Thanks for sharing them with us, and thanks for your insightful posts.

@5K Qs and mitch4ging mitch4ging thank you both for the kind remarks you have made regarding my knives. I hope you both get lots of good ones next year!

Nice job. Pardon the dumb question, but do you mean actual tea, or tea colored?
Or since we’re talking about tea, “coloured”:D

Well, even the homely, the less than well fit and finished, and maybe some hard miles on deserve some lovin.

Lucky for me.o_O
Actual black tea, double bagged, dipped the knife when still hot, then zapped the tea for a second soak, used a favorite mug...and just let the tea do its magic. I rather like the outcome, the original dye was rather lackluster to the eye, but the jigging is exceptional on this model.

Nice post, as usual, Leslie. Enjoying a cigar myself right now (Arturo Fuente), and a wee bit of Laphroaig.
Happy New Year! Slainte!

Were there other slipjoints commissioned by Cold Steel or is this run the only ones they did?

Never get tire of those Harry. They are gems indeed.

Devine image Gev. :)

Fabulous pics Barrett. The 25 is really something and the last pic's use of color!... o_O

This Taylor Brand is a pleasant surprise. Inexpensive this knife is extremely well crafted. Impressive and deserves a nod.View attachment 1045069View attachment 1045076
love the Shrade Walden Dwight, of course, your fine photo makes it that much more desirable.:D

Kevin and Dennis, your canoes are sensational!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
And please don't hate me, but I'm definitely entering this info into my "who has what canoe" spreadsheet!! :D

Thanks, and you as well Leslie! I enjoy all your posts.

That's the cull? Wow, must have been some fine stag on that run!

And now, for something completely different:

I’ve always thought it was pretty decent Stag. I’ve seen better and worse on this run. However the dealer described it as cull and sold it at a discount. I know Gevonovich Gevonovich has one also and his is very nice as well! :) That is an interesting Boker you have there!

Thank you. I had a very lucky day at the pawn shop yesterday. ;) It's a Boker Cox Slim, slipjoint designed by Jens Anso. 3 3/4" inches closed
I wasn't sure at first if it's "traditional" enough for this thread, but I guess if the Lionsteel Barlows are...I'm sure Frank will tell me if I need to edit.

I'll have to give this a try, I bought a RR trapper today because it has gunstock checkering I like but its a bright orange color that I wish was darker. Thanks for this tip
