Yeah, I forget what an influence lighting and background can have on the appearance of a knife.Speaking of background, is that a fence post or a place mat or what beneath your stag lambsfoot, Vince?
I need to get some white gloves to wear when I use it, though.

My condolences, Frailer.I had to travel out of state this weekend for a dear friend’s memorial service/wake. My wife and I were traveling light, so I decided to keep my pockets light as well.
The small-yet-perfectly formed GEC 14 + Victorinox Rogue duo performed admirably. So much so that they remain in my pockets today...and may well become my regular carry.

Jeff, you’re always teasing us with your guitar projects. I sincerely hope that we get to see some of the finished pieces, maybe in Randy’s instrument thread, along with some traditional cutleryI needed the services of a Wenger, so thught it was a good excuse for another pic.View attachment 1058722Cow bone. It’s not just for knife covers anymore! It makes the best nut for guitars. (That’s the little thing that has tiny slots in which the strings fit)
Bone for tone.![]()
Smart move. They are works of art. I love using mine. The Muscle bone version is the user and it has loosened up to perfection on the mainblade. The pull on the main blade is very mild now and super pinchable. I’d rate it at a five now, it was probably an 8 before. The secondary is still tight, but it has mellowed too, maybe a 7.5-8 pull, before it was a 9. I’ve been using both sheaths, but the fold over sheath is the most comfortable for me. The 46 Whaler is super large for a pocketknife, but when you put it in a belt sheath it is just an average sized belt knife. @Horsewright made this sheath and a pancake style sheath for me. I’m sure he will make more if anyone asks him.View attachment 1058508
OkTravman , after seeing the great photographs of your 46’s, I could not resist getting this one after foolishly selling my Muscle Bone. Can I send you the bill, since it is your fault? BTW, which sheath did you end up keeping? Send me a message if you would like to sell the other one.
Seriously, these things are amazing. They are works of art that you can use to cut things. The Muscle Bone versions seem to have slightly smoother action, but both types have very strong springs. No complaints from me. What else would you expect from a Whaler?!
That's a nicely worn in alox, GT. It has a very neat look, like a well used tool.Alox Knife this week is one of my most prized knives, an old cross Pioneer:
