What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Sorry. It’s just WAY TOO COLD to go outside and take a decent picture today.

Ok @Travman , after seeing the great photographs of your 46’s, I could not resist getting this one after foolishly selling my Muscle Bone. Can I send you the bill, since it is your fault? BTW, which sheath did you end up keeping? Send me a message if you would like to sell the other one.

Seriously, these things are amazing. They are works of art that you can use to cut things. The Muscle Bone versions seem to have slightly smoother action, but both types have very strong springs. No complaints from me. What else would you expect from a Whaler?!

Today with a small knife, Puma 4 Star all steel...
Today again with a Puma 4 Star mini, this time in stag...
Those Puma lockbacks, steel and stag, are appealing knives, Senhor José!:thumbsup::thumbsup: How small are they?

I always enjoy your "thematic" photos, Ken, including this cattle drive with your BF Drover!:cool::thumbsup:

Trying to choose between a barehead ebony spear and an ebony sheepsfoot with endcap would be VERY difficult. Beguiling knives, @Prester John & @Hkjay !:thumbsup::cool:

There's something poetic about having a Rough Rider and a Colt together!
Thanks, Dennis. :)

Current traditionals that I carry. Minus a few sak’s that I also have. The GEC #14 gets used quite a bit. I found the kutmaster(knife in center) in an old sewing box from my wife’s grandmother not sure on any other details of it or year. The Camillus was my dads from his time in the service. The date says 1966. I never use it. Not sure why. I just keep it in a case.
Commendable collection of 6 classics, @Gizler00! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Dynamic dyad, Alan!:thumbsup::cool: "What can brown do for you?"

We got up this morning and I made us a protein smoothie for breakfast. Then we went to the Y and worked out for over an hour. So far I’m down 5 since Monday! I’ve dropped these two Sambar Stag favorites in my pocket for the rest of the day! :D

Carried my 2013 Antique Yellow Farm Boy today:thumbsup:...
Immaculate and intriguing pattern, Paul!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, Gary.
I am not sure if it has turned darker or not. If it has, it has been gradually, of course. Not always easy to tell with photographs because of different lighting. I have handled it a lot, though.
Para el domingo:...
Yeah, I forget what an influence lighting and background can have on the appearance of a knife.:thumbsup: Speaking of background, is that a fence post or a place mat or what beneath your stag lambsfoot, Vince?

I see you're coming over to the light side with that one. ;)
I need to get some white gloves to wear when I use it, though. ;)

You being you...paid in colors :)
:D:thumbsup:;)

Thanks GT, couple of fine free choices there :)

Thanks, Jack. :) Your ivory/ebony combo is a jazzy pair!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yes, I'll tell something later.
Beautiful knives, I especially like this one (Colonial)...;)
Thanks, Pt-Luso Pt-Luso . :)

Yes, it is a single spring model. I cleaned it up since I posted it and will be carrying it again today. I have to keep it quarantined when I'm not carrying it because it has cell covers. It's a shame really because the knife itself is really nice; superb at slicing and general carry duty. It was made in 1998. I have 2-4 more of them with various covers; none of the others seem to be out-gassing like this one. They ride in the pocket so nice.

Ed J
Thanks for the helpful info, Ed. :) I didn't even notice that the "pearl" was outgassing; too bad. :(

4 1/2" X 2 = 9" of beautiful stag.View attachment 1057724
That big shadow stag is a complete knockout, Alan!:cool::thumbsup:

No, I have many more hiding in drawers. ...
Thanks for the reply, John; laudable stands!:cool::cool:

There’s something special about old, lovingly worn, smooth bone covers on an old working knife.
Happy Sunday!

Cutting yarn appears to be the only documented use* of a traditional pocket knife among those of us on this here porch, on this here day, the twentieth day of January, 2019.

Please thank Mrs. Northwestcut for us.

*meaning actually cutting something, not fondling or admiring:D
I'm a day late with the pic, but most days I use pocket knives in the kitchen. Sunday I dismembered some vegetables:
