What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

@5K Qs
Thanks GT, I barely know anything about them myself. I'll have to look back through a couple threads, I think in the newest addition thread someone told me its a Robert Klaas "Lovebirds" stamp. Apologies to who provided the info for not remembering who it was:oops:. There undoubtedly are others more qualified to provide relevant information on the stamp. And Klaas's connection to Kissing Krane

For the 27th consecutive day.

Sweatin’ is one thing I’ve been doing a lot lately at the Y! :p But I never carry any of my knives or firearms in there! They really frown on that!!!
The YMCA in my home town has (or maybe it's "had", I have not been in there since 1975) a 25 yard range in the basement for handguns and .22 rifles. They also let folks shoot their bows at that range on Tuesdays and Thursdays, if memory serves.
They didn't care if you had a pocket knife (or two) in your pocket (or a Buck 110 on your belt, for that matter) either.

Been a great day on the ice. Catching a good assortment of perch, blues, bass, and the occasional trout.

Lots of fun to be had when it’s -10* outside but sweatshirt weather in the hut lol.

Very cool, Jake! Ice fishing is something I’d like to get into now that we live in Minnesota, but I haven’t tried it out yet.

Can’t go wrong with one of those!

Carrying these two today. The Maserin Plow was a gift from Randy (@r redden). Thanks again, Randy!

That's a nice one Stuart :)

Was hoping to get out for a good hike today, but my walking partner had to cancel due to illness. I woke up to a nice day too  Hope everyone has a great Sunday

Thanks, Jack, and that's a proud pairing that you're totin'.

After a week on the road I am hopelessly behind on this thread. My carries for today (boringly more of the same). OH

Classics are never boring, OH, and those are fine.

One of my favorites, a Shapleigh Diamond Edge barehead jack.

Yep!

Soupbone Sunday for me today! Thanks again, Darren.

Yep, for sure.

Camillus made 303 today

Wish they were still around, Steve. Thanks for the remembrance.

D Duckdog Beautiful bone on the Boker Stuart!

Thanks, Nick, (just found it in a box today) and I LIKED the double tipped pen that you posted.

I'll bet that slimline trapper just keeps quiet and does whatever he's asked to do!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Peanut of the Week is a Case chestnut jigged bone CV peanut:

That's in his DNA, GT. That Case peanut is the winning legume today, IMHO.

Today's knives are a 1980 Case appaloosa Barlow (a gift from Paul Hilborn - thank you so much) and a Simmons Hardware Germany penknife in stag.

WoW. Dean!!

Thanks! This is a Wostenholm.
I meant to include the blades in the original post, but kept getting an error message, so I quit.

Yes, that's the picture of loveliness. Good job.

D Duckdog
What a beauty and great photograph on the woodpile !

Lovely Boker Stuart

Now that is some nicely jigged bone! What a wonderful Boker.

Thanks, guys and gal. I found it this morning in another box that I hadn't cleaned out and put it in my pocket (while fetching firewood for Miss Norma's request for "fires all day long"). My new dog walking duties (dooties?) are taking time away from pic taking and commenting. Will try to catch up.

It was a pen blade with a broken tip, so I re-shaped it into a coping blade. But now that you mention it, it does have the taper of a teeny-tiny lambsfoot. :)

That's some very nice work, r8shell, and I am constantly impressed by your creativity and effort . Great work on giving a better life to fine old knives. And fine pictures. If I may I say - You rock!!

Thanks for some background on Hunter. I knew he was a film critic, but I've never read any of his reviews.

Very cool knife, Stuart, but I don't know what to call it! Stockman blade set-up, except for the spear main, and the shape of the frame is also rather unusual!

Yes, GT, he was a well respected critic for his depth of knowledge of film making, its history and objectivity on the films themselves. But, he didn't parse words or suffer mediocrity. As to the Kissing Crane/Klass, the NKCA dubbed it a whittler.

Nick, Mike, & Stuart, you boys brought out a bonanza of beautiful brown jigged bone!:thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:

Stuart that’s some beautiful Bone on your Boker my friend! :D

Thanks, happy to be in that group, and just glad that I looked a little deeper into a box that I had put aside. Boy, was I glad.

- Stuart!

Thank you.
Thanks for the additional info, Rachel.:thumbsup: You sure have worked some magic with those piano key veneers!:thumbsup::)

Thanks, GT. For the record, the work on the Keen Kutter was done by @Markesharp. (anyone heard from him lately?)

That sounds like a great Y! We have several indoor ranges but none in our YMCA! In 1975 a lot of things were different!
