Traveling (very) light today.

That is a nice little fella

After a long hot hard week of work for me and my 86 comanche dragging literally tons of wood and making trails all through the woods, me and my girl are giving old jeepy a rinse. Courtesy of mother nature of course.

Snapped a quick cell shot of the 85 that has been my constant companion.

Its pouring now. Awesome storm.

I love those BLUE scales... it remotely reminds me of my favorite color of blue like the paint on my 68 Chevy!

Right? It's an eye catcher. I've picked up a couple of brighter scaled knives. They tend to be people friendly, and they just make me smile in general. Great little knife.

Going to work at the farm today, so my #72 (and first traditional) will be going along.

I sanded the etch off of it after this picture was taken. Looks much better now.

A little late to the party, but still want to say: Happy Birthday Andi!

We also celebrated my oldest niece's birthday yesterday, her 18th.

I wish I had a river valley green serpentine jack to carry in honor of Andi, but I don't, so I'll stay with the TOTM and like yesterday the Craftsman small stockman is with me.

It is joined today by my Father's Day gift, the Queen Dan Burke Half Whittler.

These are just lovely...

What is it? Yes, I'm talkin' to you "old-timers" :) who've collected and used "traditionals" for so long... WHAT IS IT that makes these knives so appealing and beautiful to the "eye of the beholder"?

Don't get me wrong, I really like my Spyderco's, Benchmade's, and my Kershaw's etc. but there is just SOMETHING about a well executed "old-timey" slip-joint that draws me (and others) to them.

Maybe it's the nostalgia... maybe it's the uniqueness of the patterns... I don't know what it is or how to put it to words effectively, but there is just "something" about this sort of knife that draws me. [sigh]

Today my Case Sodbuster was with me ... Sorry no pic - the last pics I took of this knife were around Christmas ;)

Kind regards
Andi

Not sure how you could bear to leave that sweet lil' conductor behind...? Look, it's so small-- it'll easily slip into your pocket, too!

(I love the pictures of your knives, and this one is no exception.)

Its been a long time since this one saw any pocket time. I figured today it was time to get it out of the drawer, and take a new picture of it.
